Abstract

Mura Village is one of the villages located in Brang Ene District, West Sumbawa Regency. This village has 3 hamlets, namely Buin Banyu hamlet, Mura hamlet, and Tegaran hamlet. Most of the people of Mura Village work as farmers, with the greatest potential, namely rice and corn cereals. There are several fundamental problems faced by Mura Village, including limited Human Resources (HR) as indicated by the low productivity of land in the village. Poor household waste management is evidenced by the large amount of organic waste that is wasted every day. The lack of stretching of the creative economy sector is evidenced by the small number of MSMEs in the village so that the people in the village tend to be more consumptive. Before going into the field, KKN-T students are first provided with knowledge of regional potential and community empowerment materials so that program implementation can run well. The existence of directives from the government regarding health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic made community empowerment programs a little different from usual. Several community empowerment programs include utilizing yards for food security and developing local commodities for food security. The results obtained during the Community Service Program had a very positive impact on the people of Mura. Students are also able to teach residents how to cultivate in buckets (Aquaponics) and about 70% of the village community applies this cultivation method, in the same program there is also distribution of seeds to the dasa wisma gardens and the culmination of a competition to use the house yard and dasa wisma garden which followed by the dasa model homestead group in the village. Furthermore, the students held a workshop on the processing of local commodities in the form of cassava which is processed into mocaf flour which has high added value, the results of the workshop were directly applied by the village government through PKK women to make Mura village a center for making mocaf flour. Keywords: mura village, yard, home industry, mocaf flour

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has a detrimental impact on various sectors of life, including the food and agriculture sectors. The Department of Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries (DKP3) of Banjarbaru City is the implementing element of government affairs in the Agriculture, Plantation Sector, Fishery Sector, Animal Husbandry Sector, and Extension Sector which is the regional authority. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the role of DKP3 as a food stabilizer was urgently needed considering that this disease outbreak had created obstacles in the distribution of foodstuffs and people's access to various food products. On the other hand, the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy has made the trend of using social media in the community increase. Therefore, DKP3 can use this trend to be more active in social media as a way of disseminating educational information to the public regarding the use of house yards as a solution to meeting household food needs, alternative sources of additional income, and application of balanced nutrition guidelines for the people of Banjarbaru is expected to be able to survive this pandemic. The activities carried out are the dissemination of information on Balanced Nutrition Guidelines (PGS) and Household Food Security which aims to educate about balanced nutrition guidelines and the importance of household food security by utilizing the household yard. Dissemination of information on Balanced Nutrition Guidelines (PGS) and Household Food Security also aims to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills of the people of Banjarbaru City. Keywords: balanced nutrition guidelines, food security, covid-19

Abstract

Garbage is a human daily or natural process that is solid or semi-dense in the form of organic or inorganic substances that can be decomposed or unable to decompose that are considered useless and discarded into the environment. The increase in population and changes in people's consumption patterns are the causes of the increase in household waste production. The lack of public awareness, the absence of facilities and waste management causes people to throw indiscriminately into residential neighborhoods, namely sewers, rivers, or burning them around the house. This activity is carried out to provide public education on waste management in several stages, namely field surveys, social mapping, counseling, and evaluation. Counseling is done by method of lectures, discussions, and demos. Material submitted about the types of garbage and its dangers, the introduction of the concept of TPS3R, and demos on garbage sorting. Counseling has changed people's perceptions of garbage. People become more understanding and aware to manage household waste. Finally, the community can conduct garbage collection, sorting, transporting, and weighing activities properly, proven in Dukuh Rowo Pasar successfully conducting transportation and weighing of garbage independently. The effort is the first step of the method in TPS3R. The distribution of bins is one way to reduce the indiscriminate garbage disposal activities carried out by the community. It takes community cooperation to deal with this issue. The village government should allocate budgets for the procurement of waste management facilities and infrastructure, such as trash cans, transportation of garbage transporters, and the construction of landfills (landfills). In addition, waste management education to the community also needs to be improved. Keywords: household, waste, integrated waste management, reuse, reduce, recycle

Catfish is a fish that is widely consumed by Indonesian people. However, some people are still reluctant to consume them. One of them is because it smells fishy. The creativity of food producers to cover this deficiency is needed in this fish processing method. One of the catfish processing that can be done is shredded catfish. Shredded catfish is one of the processed fishery products made from fish meat, or fish processed with seasonings. Shredded catfish is processed by boiling, frying, pressing or separating the oil. The resulting product has a good taste and relatively long durability. Processing catfish into shredded catfish will increase the quality value of the food product.
