The increasing use of skincare products, so that some have felt the side effects of overclaimed skincare. As felt by a TikToker named Tya from Kalimantan who experienced skin cancer such as black spots. Gen Z is the most active group in consuming skincare products. This study aims to understand how the Gen Z audience in Jakarta actively receives and interprets messages on Denny Sumargo's YouTube broadcast. The study used a qualitative method with a reception analysis approach through the encoding and decoding model from Stuart Hall. Informants were selected in a planned manner from the South Jakarta Karang Taruna administrators, male and female. The results showed that informants did not receive messages passively. Several informants showed dominant acceptance, namely agreeing with the contents of the message and supporting criticism of the practice of overclaim. Other informants showed negotiation and opposition acceptance, namely questioning the motives behind the broadcast and assessing that the content was subjective.

Abstract

This study examines how domestic violence, particularly against children, is portrayed in the film Tarian Terakhir (The Last Dance). This film was chosen because it presents an emotional story that is close to social reality, where violence is often hidden behind the walls of the home. A qualitative approach was used with content analysis to analyze six main scenes that depict physical and psychological violence. The results of the study indicate that violence in the film is not only a dramatic element but also reflects power imbalances within family relationships. This finding is supported by data from SIMFONI-PPA and KPAI in 2024, which show high rates of violence against children. Based on media content theory, the film is understood as a medium that shapes public understanding and critiques the normalization of violence. However, this study has limitations as it only analyzes one film and does not involve the perspectives of victims or experts. Therefore, it is recommended that future research adopt a cross-media and multidisciplinary approach to examine the representation of violence within families more broadly and deeply.

Abstract

The Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), or the Family Hope Program, is a conditional social assistance initiative targeting poor and vulnerable families listed in the integrated data system for handling the poor, who have been designated as beneficiary families of the program. The low level of public understanding regarding the benefits and objectives of the Family Hope Program has hindered the achievement of its intended goals. This study aims to examine the role of extension communication in disseminating information about the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Riding Panjang Village, Belinyu District. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, using interviews with informants from recipient families of the PKH program. Data analysis was conducted descriptively. The results of the study indicate that there are obstacles in the community's comprehension of messages conveyed through the extension communication efforts. Moreover, community participation remains weak, especially in decision-making related to the Family Hope Program. Based on these findings, the study recommends that the government carry out regular evaluation and monitoring activities, and enhance the capacity of extension officers to ensure effective communication in delivering the objectives of the Family Hope Program.

Abstract

. Organizational communication culture plays a vital role in shaping working relationships within a team. This study aims to analyze the organizational communication culture in the Marketing Central (MC) Team of Jawa Timur Park (JTP), focusing on the hierarchical and participatory practices applied in daily work routines. Using a qualitative approach and semi-structured interviews, the researcher involved 14 active informants. The findings show that communication in MC JTP follows a top-down managerial structure, complemented by informal participatory communication among team members. Although this practice reflects flexible structuring, it does not fully align with dialogic communication principles. Communication barriers such as limited access to information and managerial dominance still occur but are generally resolved through direct dialogue or internal mediation. This research highlights that the communication culture in MC JTP is built not only on formal structures but also through symbolic daily interactions, as explained by Deetz and Geertz & Pacanowsky. The findings suggest that balancing control with flexibility can maintain work effectiveness, though improvements in open forums and evaluations are needed to enhance full member participation.

Abstract

This study analyzes the business strategy of Toko A. Fauzi using the SWOT and Value Proposition Canvas (VPC) approaches to evaluate the store's position in market competition and formulate a development strategy. The SWOT analysis reveals the store's key strengths such as competitive pricing, friendly customer service, a wide product variety, and partnerships with reliable suppliers. However, the store faces weaknesses such as stock limitations, long queues at the cashier, lack of promotion, and an underdeveloped online shopping system. Opportunities for expansion include collaboration with new suppliers, utilizing social media for promotion, and developing delivery services. However, there are external threats such as a shift in shopping behavior towards digital platforms, supply chain issues, and competition from stores offering more attractive loyalty programs. The VPC analysis indicates that the products and services offered by Toko A. Fauzi align with customer needs, which desire affordable prices, stable stock, and a convenient shopping experience. Based on the SWOT analysis, Toko A. Fauzi is in a progressive strategic position, with an IFE score of 3.31 and an EFE score of 3.71, indicating dominant internal strengths and the ability to capitalize on opportunities and address threats. For development, it is recommended to improve stock management, enhance payment and delivery systems, and expand digital marketing strategies and the online shopping platform. By implementing strategies based on SWOT and VPC, Toko A. Fauzi is expected to strengthen its competitiveness and achieve sustainable business growth.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with cultural and religious diversity, has villages as important laboratories for strengthening interfaith tolerance. However, social, political, and economic dynamics have created complex challenges, including the potential for religious conflict. However, this is different in Sidomulyo Village, Lumajang, which is inhabited by a multi-religious community (Islam, Catholic, Christian, and Hindu) and multi-ethnic (Javanese and Madurese), serving as an important example in managing this diversity. This village also served as the inauguration site for the BIMA MERDEKA Village, an initiative to strengthen religious moderation and counter radicalism. The purpose of this community service was to analyze superior assets and asset development strategies and to identify outcomes of the asset development program. The method used was the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach through the 5-D cycle (Define, Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny). The results of the community service show that this village has interfaith harmony, local cultural potential, and high social participation. The development strategy involves collaboration between religious leaders and the community in designing programs based on local wisdom. This program has successfully increased awareness of religious moderation and become a model for sustainable diversity management.

Abstract

The Pantang Mulud tradition within the Kasepuhan community of Pamubulan Village, Lebak Regency, Banten, constitutes a significant social phenomenon that actively builds trust-based social capital. This qualitative case study research specifically investigates the relationship between religious traditions and the strengthening of social capital, with particular emphasis on the trust dimension. Data collection was conducted through intensive participatory observation, comprehensive in-depth interviews with key informants (including Olot, community leaders, and active residents), and systematic documentation studies. The data analysis strategically integrated the SOCAT Instrument developed by Grootaert & Van Bastelaer (2002) with Robert Linton’s foundational Role Theory (1936). The research results clearly demonstrate that through various traditional activities – including Tuesday prohibitions, customary deliberations, the kepret ritual, and the Tang-Tang Angin procession – this tradition effectively constructs four distinct forms of trust: (1) trust in the system through voluntary compliance with customary norms, (2) trust in authority through demonstrated confidence in Kasepuhan’s leadership, (3) interpersonal trust within traditional social networks, and (4) transformative trust through collective action in the “Nganjingan” program. The study findings further reveal that trust within the Kasepuhan community fundamentally stems from the Kasepuhan’s consistent role performance in fulfilling community expectations. Ultimately, the Kasepuhan institution serves as a crucial catalyst that significantly strengthens solidarity, cultural identity, and social participation while simultaneously mobilizing social capital for sustainable community welfare.
