Abstract

Halal products' integrity is upheld when halal practices are consistently implemented throughout the storage process within uncontaminated warehouses, utilizing hygienic transportation methods for transferring goods from warehouses to stockpiles, and ensuring that packaging and marketing prevent exposure to impurities. The entire supply chain involved must adhere to halal standards, and LPPOM MUI facilitates this by issuing halal certifications that encompass logistics, guaranteeing halal practices. Among the tools available, logistics companies can adopt the SJH framework. This paper aims to elucidate the imperative for halal logistics, establishing an assurance that the halal status is unwaveringly preserved across all logistical operations and their associated supply chains, mitigating the risk of transgression into non-halal domains. Employing qualitative research methods, this study unveils that beyond products exclusively meant for Muslim consumption under Sharia, logistics itself demands meticulous attention. Thus, logistics operations aligned with Sharia principles emerge as a requisite. Adherence to these principles within logistics will safeguard the sanctity of halal products, ensuring their purity throughout the journey—from raw materials and packaging to storage and transportation—preventing any amalgamation with non-halal entities.

Abstract

Consumptive behavior among students is influenced not only by internal factors but also actively shaped by external factors, driving an ongoing increase in purchasing and spending to fulfill their needs. From the standpoint of Islamic economics, individuals are encouraged to adopt a frugal and simple lifestyle, particularly students. This research aims to analyze the consumptive behavior of 30 students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at Alauddin State Islamic University in Makassar, considering the perspective of Islamic economics during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study employs a qualitative approach in the form of field research, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation of the selected students. The findings reveal that the consumptive behavior of these 30 students during the COVID-19 pandemic remains relatively active. However, there are instances of impulsive purchasing, wastefulness, and a pursuit of pleasure. From the perspective of Islamic economics, consumptive behavior is deemed undesirable as it prioritizes desires over needs and leads to wasteful practices, contrary to Islamic economic principles that advocate for frugality and simplicity.

Abstract

The market mechanism is guaranteed freedom in Islam. The market is free to determine the means of production and prices, and there should be no interference that results in the destruction of the market balance. But in reality it is difficult to find a market that runs by itself fairly. One of them is the practice of hoarding or what is often referred to as monopolistic practices carried out by producers or sellers so that the availability of basic necessities is getting thinner and scarcer so that they can play prices in the market. Seeing this, this article aims to see whether hoarding practices are a form of market engineering in supply (ikhtikar) and to explain the views of Islamic Economics regarding hoarding practices (monopoly). This article is a library research and uses a qualitative method with a normative approach. The data source used is secondary data derived from books, journals and articles related to the practice of ikhtikar, hoarding, and monopoly as well as how Islamic economics views. The results of this study found that price fluctuations also occur due to fraudulent actions in the market such as hoarding by speculators. The act of hoarding in question is market engineering in supply (ikhtikar). The practice of ikhtikar is strictly prohibited in Islamic Economics because it can disrupt the market mechanism. For this reason, the role of the government as a policy maker is needed to regulate in order to create a fair price.

The results showed that based on the sharia business feasibility study on environmental aspects, technical and technological aspects, competitive aspects, market and marketing aspects and financial aspects, Cariyos products are said to be feasible to execute.
