The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly emerged as a transformative technology in education, particularly in English Language Teaching (ELT). AI-powered applications such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, Duolingo, QuillBot, and automated assessment systems have significantly influenced language teaching practices by enhancing lesson preparation, providing personalized learning experiences, and facilitating immediate feedback. Despite these advantages, teachers remain central to the successful implementation of AI in language education. This article explores English language teachers' perceptions of using AI in ELT by examining its pedagogical benefits, challenges, and implications for classroom practice. A review of recent literature indicates that teachers generally perceive AI as a valuable instructional tool that enhances teaching efficiency, learner engagement, and individualized instruction. However, concerns persist regarding academic integrity, overreliance on AI-generated content, data privacy, ethical considerations, and the lack of sufficient technological competence among educators. The study also highlights the importance of professional development and institutional support in promoting teachers' AI literacy and responsible AI integration.

Abstract

The integration of national content into foreign language instruction has become one of the priority directions for improving the quality of education in multilingual societies. In Uzbekistan, educational reforms emphasize not only the development of foreign language proficiency but also the preservation of national identity, cultural heritage, and moral values among learners. This study investigates the influence of incorporating national content into English language teaching on students' learning outcomes, motivation, intercultural communicative competence, and linguistic achievement. The research is based on a qualitative and analytical methodology that synthesizes pedagogical theories, linguocultural approaches, competency-based education, and recent educational reforms implemented in Uzbekistan. The findings indicate that integrating authentic national materials-including historical events, cultural traditions, literature, customs, folklore, architecture, national holidays, and biographies of prominent Uzbek scholars-significantly enhances students' classroom engagement and learning motivation. Moreover, learners demonstrate improved speaking, reading, writing, and listening performance because familiar cultural contexts reduce cognitive barriers and facilitate meaningful language acquisition. National content also strengthens students' intercultural competence by enabling them to compare their native culture with global cultures while maintaining a strong sense of national identity.

Abstract

The development of tourism-related concepts among primary school students requires an interdisciplinary approach that integrates knowledge, skills, and values across different subjects. This study examines the theoretical foundations of interdisciplinary integration in developing tourism-related concepts through the subjects The World Around Us, Etiquette, and Future Studies. The research explores how these subjects contribute to students' understanding of cultural heritage, natural resources, environmental protection, social responsibility, and sustainable tourism. A qualitative research approach was employed using curriculum analysis, classroom observation, and the review of pedagogical literature. The findings indicate that interdisciplinary integration enhances students' cognitive development by connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experiences.

Abstract

This study examines the thematic, artistic, and educational characteristics of Muhammad Rizo Ogahiy's ghazals and evaluates their role in the moral education of students. Employing a qualitative research design, the study applies descriptive, content, thematic, comparative, and interpretative analysis to selected ghazals from Ogahiy's Devon. The research explores how the poet conveys universal values such as honesty, justice, compassion, patriotism, humility, and the pursuit of knowledge through rich poetic imagery and philosophical reflection. The findings reveal that Ogahiy's ghazals possess significant pedagogical potential by fostering ethical awareness, critical thinking, cultural identity, and emotional intelligence among students. The study further demonstrates that integrating Ogahiy's literary heritage into literature education can strengthen value-based learning and contribute to the holistic development of learners. Moreover, the analysis confirms that the educational messages embedded in Ogahiy's poetry remain relevant to contemporary educational objectives and support the formation of morally responsible and culturally conscious individuals. The study concludes that Ogahiy's ghazals should be more actively incorporated into modern educational curricula as an effective resource for character education and the preservation of national literary heritage.

Abstract

Proverbs are an essential component of a nation's cultural heritage, reflecting the wisdom, beliefs, traditions, and worldview of its people. Similes, as one of the most expressive stylistic devices, frequently appear in proverbs to create vivid imagery and convey moral lessons effectively. This article examines the linguocultural aspects of similes in English and Uzbek proverbs, highlighting their semantic, cultural, and cognitive features. Through comparative analysis, the study reveals both universal human values and culture-specific characteristics embedded in similes. The findings demonstrate that while English and Uzbek proverbs share common conceptual patterns, they differ significantly in the cultural symbols and images used to express similar ideas.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technologies has significantly transformed the nature of human communication, creating new forms of interaction within digital environments. This study examines digital communication as a pragmatic environment, focusing on the realization of speech acts in email and instant messaging platforms. The research explores how technological features, communication contexts, and platform-specific conventions influence pragmatic meaning and communicative behavior. Particular attention is given to the differences between asynchronous communication, represented by email, and synchronous or semi-synchronous communication, represented by applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Messenger. The study also analyzes the role of multimodal elements including emojis, stickers, GIFs, voice messages, and other digital symbols in conveying pragmatic meaning and strengthening illocutionary force. The findings indicate that digital communication has introduced new pragmatic norms and communicative strategies that differ considerably from those of traditional face-to-face interaction. While email tends to employ more formal, structured, and indirect speech acts, instant messaging platforms encourage concise, direct, and interactive communication. Furthermore, multimodal resources have become essential pragmatic markers that compensate for the absence of non-verbal cues in online communication. The study concludes that digital communication represents a dynamic and evolving pragmatic environment, making it one of the most important areas of contemporary linguistic and pragmatic research.

Abstract

This article examines how the four essential pillars of athletic performance—training, nutrition, sleep, and recovery—work together to enhance physical abilities and long-term sporting success. It explains the scientific principles behind effective training, including progressive overload, specificity, and periodisation, while highlighting the importance of balanced nutrition, proper hydration, and nutrient timing in supporting performance and adaptation. The article also explores the crucial role of sleep in muscle repair, cognitive function, and hormonal regulation, as well as the significance of recovery strategies such as active recovery, stretching, rest, and mental relaxation. Finally, it demonstrates that sustainable athletic excellence depends on maintaining a balance among these interconnected factors, enabling athletes of all levels to maximise performance, reduce injury risk, and promote overall health and well-being.

Abstract

With the development of digital communication technologies, social media platforms have transformed from digital environments in which individuals communicate only to complex sociotechnical systems in which behaviors are analyzed, attention is managed and social interactions are reshaped. This study aims to examine the functioning of social media platforms comparatively in the axis of George Orwell's 1984 and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World novels. The research was conducted on the basis of document review from qualitative research methods and comparative literary analysis approach. In the study, Orwell's 1984 novel was evaluated in the context of algorithmic surveillance, data collection, digital control, propaganda and information manipulation that constitute the technical infrastructure of social media; Huxley's Brave New World novel was analyzed within the framework of attention economy, personalized content, pleasure-oriented user experience, consumption culture and digital alienation. The research findings reveal that social media platforms cannot be explained through a single dystopian model. The platforms' data collection processes, algorithmic decision-making mechanisms, and behavior prediction systems create a digital control structure in which individuals are constantly monitored, while the user experience exhibits a pleasure-oriented structure that encourages voluntary participation through entertainment, personalization, short video culture, appreciation mechanisms, and continuous interaction. In this direction, social media is considered as a multi-layered system that produces both digital surveillance and attention economy at the same time. To sum up, the study reveals that the technical architecture of social media is remarkably similar to the surveillance society posed by Orwell, while the logic of content production and user experience are significantly similar to the pleasure-centered social order depicted by Huxley. These findings indicate that contemporary social media platforms embody not only the surveillance and algorithmic control envisioned by Orwell but also the entertainment-driven culture, consumerism, and voluntary compliance anticipated by Huxley. Building on this analysis, the study proposes a novel conceptual framework, the Hybrid Dystopia Model, which explains how power on digital platforms operates simultaneously through technical surveillance and content-driven consent. Unlike previous studies that interpret social media through either an Orwellian or a Huxleyan perspective, this model demonstrates that both forms of power coexist and reinforce one another within contemporary digital platforms. By integrating Orwellian and Huxleyan perspectives into a single analytical framework, the proposed model offers a new theoretical lens for understanding governance, user behavior, and algorithmic power in the age of social media.
