The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This article highlights the significance of game technologies in addressing and correcting specific speech deficiencies among primary school students in native language classes. The paper analyzes the methodological potential of didactic games in speech correction, fixing phonetic and grammatical errors, enriching vocabulary, and developing free-speaking skills. Furthermore, it provides practical recommendations for the effective organization of speech-oriented games in primary native language lessons, which aim to enhance students' engagement while simultaneously helping them overcome barriers in their speech development.

Abstract

This article examines the theoretical, aesthetic, and epistemological foundations of artistic imagery (obraz) and imagery (obrazlilik) within literary criticism. By synthesizing insights from classical philosophy and Western aesthetics alongside Central Asian and Uzbek literary traditions, the study delineates the evolution of human representation from simple characterization (personaj) to complex characters (xarakter) and socially representative types (adabiy tip). Furthermore, it provides a comprehensive classification of artistic images according to creative methodology, literary genres, and structural organization within the literary text.

Abstract

This article discusses the theoretical and practical foundations of a system of exercises that serve to develop students' critical thinking competence in native language lessons. The article analyzes the pedagogical content of the concept of critical thinking, its role in native language education, and its inextricable link with Bloom's taxonomy, the competency-based approach, and interactive methods. It is argued that the proposed exercises serve to develop students' logical, analytical, and creative thinking. The results of the article can be used as methodological recommendations in organizing native language lessons in secondary educational institutions.

Abstract

The translation of taboos and euphemisms is one of the most challenging areas of intercultural communication and translation studies. Taboos and euphemisms reflect the cultural, social, and linguistic characteristics of a particular society. When translating from German into Russian, translators often encounter difficulties caused by differences in cultural norms, social values, and linguistic traditions. This article examines the specific features of translating German taboos and euphemisms into Russian, identifies the main translation strategies, and analyzes examples from different semantic fields.

Abstract

Perfectionism and achievement motivation are two of the most extensively studied determinants of goal-directed behavior, yet the way their relationship changes across the adult lifespan remains underexamined outside student samples. This study investigated age-related differences in multidimensional perfectionism (self-oriented, other-oriented, and socially prescribed) and achievement motivation among 1,052 respondents distributed across five age cohorts: early youth (n = 207), adolescence (n = 213), youth (n = 211), maturity (n = 209), and the second stage of maturity (n = 212). Participants completed the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Hewitt & Flett) and T. Ehlers' Achievement Motivation Diagnostic Method. Kruskal-Wallis analyses showed that self-oriented perfectionism (H = 47.05, p < .001), other-oriented perfectionism (H = 70.44, p < .001), and achievement motivation (H = 27.83, p < .001) all differed significantly across age periods, generally increasing from early youth into youth and maturity, whereas socially prescribed perfectionism showed no significant age-related variation (H = 2.48, p = .649). These results indicate that self-directed and other-directed perfectionistic strivings develop alongside achievement motivation across early and middle adulthood, while perfectionism rooted in perceived external demand follows an independent, comparatively stable course. The findings are discussed in relation to contemporary models of motivational development and their implications for educational and occupational counselling.

Abstract

This article addresses a primary issue causing problematic situations in Uzbek linguistics. It outlines the differentiation of functional verb forms from one another alongside their unique features. Most importantly, it distinguishes compound verbs, helper verb constructions, and adverbial participle phrases from each other. Practical exercises are provided at the end of the text to reinforce the learned material.

Abstract

This study addresses a critical gap in foreign language teacher education: the cognitive overload and evaluation subjectivity experienced by pre-service teachers during traditional macro-teaching experiences. Operating within a competency-based paradigm, this paper presents a structured pedagogical framework combining Differential Microteaching with Dynamic Assessment Rubrics. Conducted with English philology students, the empirical research isolates core pedagogical sub-skills—specifically Classroom Management, Instructional Clarity, Teacher Talking Time (TTT) optimization, and Delayed Error Correction—and subjects them to target-driven, micro-scale practice. Methodological progress was measured using an objective quantitative and qualitative diagnostic matrix. The empirical results demonstrate that decoupling the complexities of complete lesson delivery into isolated, dynamically assessed micro-components significantly accelerates the acquisition of pedagogical fluency, minimizes instructional anxiety, and fosters high-level analytical self-awareness in novice language educators.

Abstract

This paper undertakes a comparative archetypal analysis of two children’s novels produced in radically different cultural settings: Susan Hill’s psychological realist narrative “I'm the King of the Castle” and Khudoyberdi Tukhtaboyev’s Uzbek folk-fantasy “Riding Yellow Giant”. Drawing on the archetypal criticism of Jung, Campbell, Frye, and Propp, the study asks whether the deep narrative structures identified in Western mythological criticism — the Shadow, the threshold, the ordeal, the return — organise both texts despite their divergent genres, settings, and outcomes. Close reading of key episodes and character dialogue shows that both novels stage a contest between a vulnerable child-protagonist and a more powerful antagonistic or supernatural figure across a liminal, wooded territory. However, the studies diverge sharply in resolution: Hill’s novel enacts an unredeemed Shadow-encounter ending in the protagonist’s destruction, while Tukhtaboyev’s novel completes Campbell’s full heroic cycle, ending in mastery and return. The paper argues that archetypal criticism illuminates both the cross-cultural persistence of mythic structure in children's literature and the culturally specific ways in which individual literary traditions resolve — or refuse to resolve — the archetypal ordeal.
