The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

The study focuses on technological renewal in agricultural production, the introduction of innovations, financial support, producers’ capacity to adopt scientific and technological advances, clustering, and digitalization. The institutional development of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector and the role of organizational and economic instruments in agricultural management are also analyzed. The study demonstrates that the effectiveness of modernization depends not only on the renewal of technical equipment but also on the coordinated functioning of financial, institutional, innovative, digital, and organizational mechanisms as an integrated system. Based on the analysis, the main directions for improving the organizational and economic mechanism of agricultural modernization are identified.

Abstract

The article provides a comparative and typological analysis of the formation, content, and artistic features of the pandnoma genre in Eastern and Western literature. It examines the universal features of pandnoma associated with moral education, the transmission of life experience to subsequent generations, and the promotion of goodness and justice. Based on such works as Qabusnama, Siyasatnama, Gulistan, and Mahbub ul-Qulub, as well as fables, moral-philosophical letters, and didactic works of Western literature, the study identifies the common and distinctive features of the genre. The analysis demonstrates that in Eastern literature, moral instruction is predominantly based on religious-educational and Sufi ideas, whereas in the Western tradition it is more often expressed through rational-philosophical and civic-moral principles.

Abstract

This article examines the linguistic worldview as one of the key objects of modern linguistic research. The paper analyzes the main scientific approaches to defining the concept of the linguistic worldview and explores the relationship between language, thought, and culture. Special attention is paid to the role of language in the conceptualization of reality and to the reflection of national and cultural characteristics in linguistic consciousness. The study employs literature review, descriptive, comparative, and cognitive-semantic research methods. The findings indicate that the linguistic worldview is a complex system of knowledge reflecting the perception and interpretation of reality by a particular linguistic community. The results of the study may be applied in cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, psycholinguistics, and intercultural communication studies.

Abstract

This article analyzes the processes underlying the formation of the Kurama dialects of Tashkent region, their phonetic, lexical, and grammatical characteristics, and their place within historical and ethnolinguistic sources. The Kurama dialects took shape as a result of long-term social and cultural contacts among different ethnic groups and occupy an important place in the linguistic landscape of Tashkent region. The article discusses the complex ethno-linguistic history of Tashkent region within the framework of the territorial dialects of the Uzbek language, and its speakers' interaction with representatives of different nationalities. It notes that the region has long been inhabited by various ethnic groups — Karluk, Kipchak, Chigil, Kangli, Kazakh, and Persian-Tajik — as a result of which complex linguistic strata have formed. The study draws on the scholarly work of researchers such as V.V. Reshetov, Sh. Shoabdurahmonov, and G'.O. Yunusov, together with contemporary approaches in dialectology.

Abstract

This article examines deictic centering and speaker–addressee relations in Jamol Kamol’s poetic discourse from a pragmatic perspective. Particular attention is paid to the ways in which personal and discourse deixis organize the communicative structure of poetic utterances and reveal the interaction between the implicit speaker and the generalized addressee. The analysis shows that deictic centering in Jamol Kamol’s poetry is not always established through an explicitly expressed first-person pronoun. In a number of poetic contexts, the speaker remains grammatically implicit but pragmatically dominant, while the addressee is encoded through second-person verbal markers and acquires a generalized character. The study also demonstrates that demonstrative units such as bu may function not merely as spatial indicators but as discourse-deictic devices referring to propositions, evaluations, and morally significant situations introduced by the poetic voice. On the basis of examples from the cycle “Qirq hadis ilhomi”, the article identifies the functional-pragmatic role of deixis in structuring speaker–addressee relations, directing interpretation, and reinforcing the didactic and evaluative orientation of poetic discourse. The findings suggest that deictic elements in Jamol Kamol’s poetry serve as important linguistic mechanisms for organizing the communicative perspective of the text and for shaping the reader’s position within the poetic act of communication.

Abstract

This article examines abstract lexical units as persuasive resources in French and Uzbek advertising discourse. The study draws on a balanced pilot corpus of twenty-four promotional statements from official brand and campaign websites, including twelve French and twelve Uzbek items. Abstract units referring to non-material values, emotions, relations, qualities, states, and projected outcomes were classified into seven pragmatic-semantic domains. The findings show that both corpora redirect attention from the material product to a desirable value-world. French advertisements particularly emphasize social relations, emotional lifestyle, and individual empowerment, whereas Uzbek advertisements give greater prominence to trust, security, development, future orientation, and the connection between tradition and innovation. French slogans are generally shorter and more elliptical, while Uzbek statements more often explain how a value relates to the promised benefit. Although the findings are not nationally representative, they illustrate how abstraction creates culturally adaptable persuasive frames in multilingual advertising.

Abstract

This article analyzes the semantic transformations that arise in the process of translating jewelry terminology and their impact on translation quality. Jewelry terminology constitutes a specialized lexical layer that embodies material culture, national values, and linguocultural features. When translating such terminology from one language into another, various semantic changes can be observed. The main objective of the study is to identify the semantic transformations used in translating jewelry terms in Uzbek and English, describe their types and specific features of application, and highlight methods for preserving national and cultural content in translation. The study employs descriptive, comparative, semantic, contextual, and translation studies methods. The results of the analysis demonstrate that such semantic transformations as specification, generalization, modulation, equivalent substitution, descriptive translation, and transliteration are most frequently employed in translating jewelry terms. In particular, when translating culturally specific terms such as tumor, tillaqosh, and zebigardon, preserving their linguocultural meaning is one of the primary challenges faced by translators. The findings of the study are of theoretical and practical significance for research in translation studies, terminology, comparative linguistics, and linguocultural studies.

Abstract

The activation of Council Directive 2001/55/EC on 4 March 2022 is commonly read as evidence that the European Union has acquired the capacity to govern mass displacement. This article questions that reading. Drawing on the activation decision, the four successive extension decisions adopted between 2023 and 2026, and the crisis instrument contained in the 2024 reform package, it argues that the Union treated the response to displacement from Ukraine as an exception rather than as a model, and that this treatment was deliberate. Three lines of evidence support the argument: the political rather than legal reasons for two decades of non-use of the Directive; the administrative logic through which each annual extension has been justified, which defends protection by reference to the burden its withdrawal would place on asylum systems; and the design of Regulation (EU) 2024/1359, which routes future mass arrivals through accelerated asylum procedures rather than through group protection outside them. The article concludes that the Union has demonstrated a capacity to open rapidly under conditions that do not generalise, and that this capacity should not be confused with a durable governance mechanism.
