The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This article examines the continuation and transformation of Alisher Navoi’s tradition of compiling divans with a dibacha (authorial preface) in the Kokand literary milieu of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The study focuses on the prefaces associated with the divans of Amiriy, Nodira, Uzlat, Muhsiniy, and Muhayyir. Drawing on manuscript copies, published editions, and previous textual scholarship, it applies historical-comparative, textological, and structural methods to identify the conventional elements of the dibacha and the individual modifications introduced by Kokand authors. The findings show that these poets retained the principal components established in the classical tradition—hamd, naʿt, autobiographical narration, an account of poetic formation, explanation of the divan’s compilation, acknowledgment of literary masters and patrons, apology for possible defects, and a concluding prayer—while adapting them to their personal, dynastic, social, and aesthetic purposes. Amiriy and Nodira linked the preface to courtly and autobiographical representation; Uzlat transformed it into a verse dedication; Muhsiniy repeatedly revised it across successive manuscript versions; and Muhayyir used it to articulate a developed poetics of authorship. Accordingly, Kokand dibachas are both literary compositions and primary documentary sources for the study of biography, manuscript history, literary patronage, and the reception of Navoi.

Abstract

The article examines the cultural adaptation of nonverbal meaning in English and Uzbek tourism communication, focusing on the transfer of culturally marked communicative behaviour across linguocultural environments. The study approaches adaptation not as the mechanical replacement of one gesture or behavioural pattern with another, but as the preservation of its communicative function under different cultural conventions. Particular attention is paid to functional equivalence, cultural acceptability, pragmatic adequacy and the interpretation of culture-specific nonverbal units. The comparative analysis demonstrates that formally different nonverbal expressions may perform equivalent communicative functions, whereas outwardly similar signs may acquire divergent cultural meanings. On this basis, cultural adaptation is interpreted as a process of balancing the source meaning, the target culture's behavioural norms and the intended communicative effect. The findings contribute to the study of nonverbal mediation in intercultural tourism interaction and provide a functional framework for interpreting culturally marked behaviour.

Abstract

This article examines the traditions of character formation in adolescent literature and explores the ways in which young protagonists develop psychologically, emotionally, socially, and morally throughout literary works. Adolescent literature occupies an important position in the literary process because it reflects the transitional period between childhood and adulthood, when an individual begins to develop an independent worldview, personal values, social awareness, and a sense of identity. The formation of character in such works is generally represented through the protagonist’s interaction with family, peers, society, nature, and various life circumstances. Particular attention is given to the role of conflict, personal experience, social environment, independence, responsibility, and moral choice in shaping adolescent characters. The article also considers the artistic traditions through which writers reveal the inner world of young protagonists, including psychological description, dialogue, characterization, symbolism, humor, and the depiction of everyday life. Uzbek literature provides numerous examples of adolescent characters whose personalities are shaped by social realities and personal experiences. Works such as G‘afur G‘ulom’s Shum Bola demonstrate how humor, adventure, hardship, and social interaction can be used to represent the psychological development of a young person. The study argues that the tradition of character formation in adolescent literature is based on the representation of a dynamic process rather than a fixed personality: the protagonist encounters difficulties, makes mistakes, learns from experience, develops independence, and gradually forms a personal understanding of life. Thus, adolescent literature performs not only an aesthetic function but also an important educational and psychological function by helping young readers understand themselves, their relationships with others, and their place in society.

Abstract

This article examines the impact of interactive teaching methods on the development of students’ oral and written communication skills in English language classes. Effective communication is one of the primary objectives of foreign language education, as learners are expected not only to understand English but also to use it confidently in academic, professional, and everyday contexts. Traditional teacher-centered approaches may provide learners with considerable knowledge of grammar and vocabulary; however, they do not always create sufficient opportunities for active communication. Interactive methods, including pair work, group work, role-play, discussions, debates, problem-solving activities, peer learning, and collaborative writing, provide learners with opportunities to use English in meaningful communicative situations. The article employs a descriptive and analytical approach to examine the pedagogical value of interactive methods in English language instruction. Particular attention is given to their influence on speaking fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary use, grammatical accuracy, writing organization, learner motivation, and communicative competence. The analysis demonstrates that interactive classroom activities can increase students’ participation, confidence, and willingness to communicate while simultaneously supporting the development of written communication skills. The article also discusses challenges associated with the implementation of interactive methods and provides pedagogical recommendations for English language teachers.

Abstract

The article describes the pathways by which artificial intelligence terms enter Uzbek as four models: transliteration, semantic calque, hybrid form, and lacuna/periphrasis. Based on a sample of 150 core terms, the quantitative ratio of the models was established: transliteration — 63 terms (42.0 per cent), semantic calque — 52 (34.7 per cent), hybrid form — 21 (14.0 per cent), lacuna/periphrasis — 14 (9.3 per cent). The predominance of transliteration indicates that Uzbek AI terminology has not yet fully completed the normalisation stage.

Abstract

Background: Developmental stuttering remains a complex neurodevelopmental speech disorder characterized by involuntary disruptions in verbal fluency. While traditional speech pathology often isolates articulatory production, modern neurology suggests that dysfluency is a systemic issue involving motor timing deficits, respiratory discoordination, and cognitive-behavioral anxiety. Methods: This paper proposes a qualitative, integrated neuro-pedagogical framework that synthesizes three primary therapeutic pillars: diaphragmatic respiratory retraining, logopedic rhythmics, and cognitive-behavioral desensitization. The methodology evaluates the conceptual synergy of these interventions rather than isolated empirical statistics. Results: Theoretical analysis indicates that bypassing defective left-hemisphere speech-timing networks through rhythmic-motor pathways significantly stabilizes vocal output. Concurrently, reducing laryngeal hypertonicity through structured breathing patterns and managing logophobia effectively disrupts the chronic anxiety-dysfluency cycle. Conclusion: Resolving developmental stuttering requires a shift from isolated articulation drills to a unified neuro-pedagogical system that simultaneously recalibrates neuromotor mechanics and emotional affective frameworks.

Abstract

This article interprets the principles of syntactic derivation of appositional constructions with coordinating conjunctions. In this context, we examine the function of adversative conjunctions as operators of syntactic derivation for appositional constructions. The article highlights how these conjunctions, appearing at the beginning of a sentence following a continuous intonational pause, serve as semantic and syntactic bases for shaping the sentence as an apposition (attachment) to the idea expressed in the leading sentences.

Abstract

Inclusive economic development is increasingly recognized as an important condition for ensuring sustainable employment, increasing household incomes, and reducing poverty. This study examines the relationship between inclusive economic transformation and improvements in the socio-economic well-being of the population, with particular attention to Uzbekistan. The purpose of the study is to identify the main mechanisms through which inclusive economic policies affect employment opportunities, household incomes, and poverty reduction. The research combines comparative, statistical, analytical, and systematic approaches. The analysis demonstrates that the reduction of poverty is closely associated with employment expansion, wage growth, entrepreneurship development, and improved access to productive economic resources. In Uzbekistan, the national poverty rate decreased from 17.0% in 2021 to 8.9% in 2024 and further to 5.8% in 2025, indicating substantial progress in poverty reduction [1; 2]. At the same time, the study identifies persistent challenges related to informal employment, regional disparities, gender gaps, unequal access to finance, and differences in human capital. The scientific novelty of the research lies in considering employment, household income, and poverty as interconnected components of an inclusive economic mechanism. The study proposes measures aimed at strengthening productive employment, supporting vulnerable groups, developing entrepreneurship, improving human capital, and ensuring more equitable access to economic opportunities.
