Abstract

Violations of human values still occur in various regions in Indonesia.  Indonesia needs to reflect on religious values that encourage humans to an ideal social system. Efforts that can be made to realize the ideal social system are through education. One of the important aspects of national education aims to form Indonesian people with a Tawhid spirit. The national education orientation is in line with the scientific development of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi. To realize the purpose of national education, national education requires a curriculum that is based on the value of Tawhid. Therefore, the Merdeka curriculum that is being massively campaigned must be studied the dimensions of Tawhid contained in it. This study aims to analyze the concept of Tawhid Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi in the Merdeka curriculum to support the achievement of national education goals. This research is literature research. The data collection method uses documentation methods and its data analysis techniques use content analysis. The results of this study show that the Merdeka curriculum has a positive relationship with the thoughts of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi related to his thoughts on Tawhid. The relationship is reviewed based on the spirit of Tawhid contained in the profile of Pancasila students and the concept of independent learning. Tawhid is understood as the main value that becomes a universal value. That is, the value of Tawhid has implications for all elements of life. Meanwhile, independent learning can be understood as an opportunity for educators to teach faith strengthening.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the Problem Based Learning model in science subjects VII MTS Nurul Islam Sekarbela, Mataram. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a quantitative approach with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of class VII students are four classes, two female classes, namely VII A and B and two male classes, namely VII C and D, with a total of 120 students. The research sample is class A and B with a cluster random sampling technique by drawing lots to determine the experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and tests. The test instrument has been tested for the validity of 10 questions, the value of r count (0.383-0.646) > r table (0.381) and reliability of 0.570 with a reliable category. There are two data analysis techniques, namely descriptive, which consists of the analysis of the implementation of learning and critical thinking skills, and differential techniques consisting of normality testing, homogeneity testing and hypothesis testing. Hypothesis testing in this study uses the Anacova test (Analysis of Covariance) with a significance level of = 0.05 with test criteria. If the value of sig < 0.05, then H0 is rejected, whereas if the sig value > 0.05, then H0 is accepted. The data from the hypothesis test results show that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So this study concludes that there is an effect of problem-based learning on students' critical thinking skills in science.

Abstract

Education in the digital era is characterized by the rapid flow of information exchange due to the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in the educational process. In the digital era, learning assessments are carried out with the help of ICT, so the term online assessment is known. This literature study uses a systematic literature review (SLR) method, which consists of 6 stages: planning, literature review, inclusion and exclusion criteria, quality assessment, data collection, and data analysis. This study aims to determine the reasons for implementing online assessments, the types of online assessments, and the advantages of online assessments. The results of data analysis show that in Indonesia, the Covid-19 pandemic and the development of ICT have triggered the implementation of online assessments. There are various online assessments implemented by teachers, ranging from assessments to test knowledge using various applications such as Quizizz and Google Forms to assessments for attitude skills such as online self-assessments. One of the advantages of implementing an online assessment is its ability to provide feedback quickly following the characteristics of education in the digital era.

Abstract

Various virtual learning environments have been implemented during the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hybrid learning is a virtual learning environment in which half of the students attend the class physically while others join virtually. This model was adopted by students in two different universities in Central Java, namely Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) and State Islamic University of Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN Saizu) Purwokerto. The purpose of this study is to investigate the students’ perceptions of hybrid learning in two different universities as well as to find out the challenges during the implementation of hybrid learning. There were 88 participants taken as subjects from both universities. This study was a qualitative method that used observation and questionnaires to collect data from participants. The result shows that the students have positive perceptions during hybrid learning that could affect their performance. The positive perception was hybrid classes provided flexible time, upgraded technology mastery, and built social interaction with others. Moreover, this study also found some obstacles such as technical issues and students’ surroundings or environment that have been affecting their performance.

Abstract

This research aims to produce and determine the feasibility of quiz and educational game using Word Wall that are suitable for online learning of quadratic inequality, rational, and irrational for grade X. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This research result is learning media in quiz and educational game using Word Wall for quadratic inequality, rational, and irrational material. The feasibility test of materials and media on quiz and educational game resulted in a percentage of 77% and 79,1% with a decent category. The attractiveness of quiz and educational game resulted in a percentage of 81% in the limited trial and 82,2% in the field trial, both of which were in the very interesting category. The results of the correlation test obtained a positive and significant correlation between student responses and student learning outcomes. The implication is that this development product can be used as a student learning tool, and it is recommended that teachers can develop Quiz and educational game using Word Wall on other materials.

Abstract

Quantitative research competence is the main asset for students to be able to carry out quantitative research well and produce quality research results. One of the things that affect the quantitative research competence of a researcher is the mastery of applied statistics. This study aims to determine the effect of Applied Educational Statistics Courses on student competence in quantitative research. For this purpose, the researcher used a survey quantitative research method. The populations of this study were all students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) Master Program for the 2021-2022 Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta who took the Applied Education Statistics course. The sample was taken using the proportional random sampling technique using the Slovin formula, to obtain a total sample of 12 students. Data were collected using a technical questionnaire that had proven its validity and reliability and analyzed by regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the value of R2 (coefficient of determination) or R Square is 0.259 or 25.9%. This value can be interpreted that changes in student competence in quantitative research by changes in the value of the independent variable in statistics courses are 48, 54 % while 51,46 % is determined by changes in other factors. The calculated value for the Statistics course variable is 2, 203 with sig. 0.052 is smaller than 0.05. This shows that there is an influence of statistics courses on students' quantitative research competence and the factors that influence it.

Abstract

Limited face-to-face is a newly used learning system in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The need for adaptation for the application of this model, it is said, is limited because it is limited by new habits with the implementation of health protocols, short learning time, and restrictions on student activities. The adaptation process, one of which is the use of learning media used during learning. The Quizizz application is one of the alternative media that can be used when the system is in the network or directly, because of its flexible nature. Media Quizizz is a tool that can help students and teachers in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to find out the Quizizz application used in Islamic Education (PAI) learning at SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto Indonesia with a limited face-to-face system. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection is carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation. The description of the research results was analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The author's initial steps formulate the problem. Then collect the necessary data. Next, the researcher analyzed the results of the study. In this study, the authors found that the Quizizz application was used in Islamic Education (PAI) learning as a learning medium. This application becomes a new online-based media that is very flexible and easy to use. The Quizizz application can be used by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers for student learning evaluation, which can be done in the classroom or used as homework, and in online learning systems or limited face-to-face learning systems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the involvement of teachers in introducing beginning mathematics to early childhood. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out using structured interviews with research subjects involving 5 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in the South Tangerang area who were selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study uses the concept of Miles and Huberman, namely data analysis, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the interviews were analyzed to find out the media, methods, constraints, solutions and children's responses to the introduction of early mathematics. The results obtained in this study indicate that teachers play an important role in introducing early childhood math classes which can be done in various ways according to the needs of each child. The introduction of early math concepts to early childhood involves teachers taking an important role in banning children from PAUD. The existence of use of learning media, methods and strategies that are very diverse so that teachers are expected to be able to help children introduce mathematics to early childhood.
