Abstract

This research develops a Microsoft Excel application based on the Visual Basic for Application (VBA) Assessment Matrix of 9 Standard Bachelor Programs with product advantages. They are a matrix display with simpler sentences, accreditation assessment, a dashboard of assessment results, and an information system following LKPS to facilitate the manufacture of LEDs based on Quadrant Evaluation. The 4-D development design method is carried out through 4 stages: define, design, develop, and dissemination. The defined stage includes an analysis of the needs of study program managers facing accreditation, an assessment matrix of 9 standard study programs, and dashboard analysis. The design stage includes the selection of the calculation format, dashboard format, and the initial design of the Excel program (prototype I). The development stage is the validation of the initial product design, with the results of the assessment of the content aspect being 4,6250 valid criteria, displaying 4,3750 valid criteria and 4,1250 valid criteria for programmers (prototype II). Limited trials were carried out on all members of SPMI UNUGHA. Each item scored more than or equal to 3.75, with an average of 4.3276, which means it is feasible with a very good rating. (prototype III). The first year the field trial was conducted at the Nahdlatul Ulama University Mathematics Study Program, Purwokerto. Each item scored more than or equal to 3.75, with an average of 4.1354, which means it is feasible with a very good rating. (prototype IV). The dissemination stage (prototype 4) is carried out in two forms: scientific publications in SINTA accredited national journals (INSANIA: Journal of Alternative Educational Thought) and intellectual works: Microsoft Excel applications based on Visual Basic for Application (VBA) Undergraduate Program Assessment Matrix 9 Standards. (Final project).

Abstract

The nation's moral decline can be seen in the increasing number of juvenile delinquency cases because human values have not been appropriately applied. The government and the people of Indonesia are trying to implement character-building in preparing for the demands of life in the future. Bengawan Solo Natural School, as an educational institution, comes with a humanist learning concept. This study aims to analyze the strategy of forming students' character through humanist learning, inculcating religious character values, and supporting and inhibiting factors at Bengawan Alam Elementary School Solo. The research design used is qualitative descriptive. They are collecting data by interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that students' character-building strategies are carried out in several ways or methods, namely practice in the field, habituation, role models, and good close relationships. Through humanistic learning, the facilitator tries to understand the uniqueness of students by the thinking of Emile Durkheim that a person's characteristics indicate the difference or uniqueness of a person's behavior with others. In shaping one's character, developing a personality with creativity and uniqueness is necessary from an early age. The process of inculcating religious values includes the values of discipline, honesty, and independence. The influencing factors include the role of parents, positive habits, the persistence of facilitators, lack of parental cooperation, low enthusiasm for learning from students and facilitators, and responses from residents. The researcher suggests that the cooperation of parents, students, facilitators, and residents is maintained to sustain moral learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the abilities and skills of descriptive essay writing using modeling strategies in fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 81 in Hiri District, Ternate City. The design of the research method used is a descriptive qualitative research design. The data source in this study is information related to the results of students' teaching and learning activities after implementing modeling strategies to improve writing skills. Other data sources used are supporting documents that refer to systematic and standardized procedures to obtain the required data. The data for this research includes both process data and result data. Learning process data was obtained through observation, interviews, field notes, documentation studies, and recording during the learning process. Student essays result from student performance in descriptions writing obtained during the learning process. The awarding of final grades for student essays is based on signs of analysis of the assessment results of student essays, which include: (1) the suitability of the theme, topic, and content of the essay; (2) spelling usage and writing; (3) diction or word choice; (4) cohesiveness between sentences and between paragraphs; (5) neatness of writing; and (6) essay form. The study results relate to the implementation of learning to write descriptive essays using a modeling strategy whose stages include the pre-writing stage, the current stage of writing, and the post-writing stage. Thus, this research can reference elementary school teachers to use modeling strategies in descriptive essay writing.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing a literacy crisis. The government also issued a policy that regulates that every school implements the School Literacy Movement. One of the efforts made to carry out this movement is to use a diary as a medium to strengthen the literacy skills of elementary school students. This study aims to describe and analyze the contribution of the use of a diary in developing a writing literacy culture at SD Negeri 1 Karanganyar Purbalingga. This research is a type of phenomenological research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display and verification. The results showed that the use of a diary in developing writing literacy culture at SD Negeri 1 Karangnyar was carried out through three activities: the use of diary media in habituation, development, and learning. These activities are carried out through three stages: preparation, implementation, and assessment. Writing literacy applied with a diary is intended for students in grades 3-6. Using a diary in writing literacy carried out in habituation, development and learning activities has made a real contribution to developing a writing literacy culture.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts to improve the learning quality during the pandemic through the blended learning method at SD Muhammadiyah Prambanan. The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with a case study. Researchers conducted interviews with teachers regarding implementing blended learning during the pandemic. The results of this study are as follows. (1) Schools use various learning platforms such as: Zoom Meeting, WA, video, Youtube, Google Form, Google Classroom, Quizizz, and teacher-made modules; (2) In order to improve communication with parents, schools program home-visit activities to identify and provide solutions to distance learning problems; (3) In monitoring the implementation of character education, students fill out "Tabungan Kebaikanku" book which is monitored every day (4) The implementation of blended learning can reduce learning loss during the pandemic, students are not bored in learning, and encourage teachers to improve technological competence; (5) The obstacles faced by schools in the implementation of blended learning are the level of student participation, the affordability of internet access, and the facilities of electronic devices they have; (6) The solutions that schools have taken to overcome the obstacles are conducting intensive communication with parents and home-visit activities, providing quota subsidies to students, making modules by teachers; (7) The application of blended learning has a positive impact on students are not getting bored due to variations of learning methods, being able to learn independently through various online applications and learning modules, as well as improving digital literacy skills.

Abstract

This study's purpose is to know the pedagogical and professional competence of teachers who have education certificates and those who do not yet have education certificates, and to understand that the pedagogical and professional competence of certified teachers is higher than uncertified teachers at the public elementary school in Ajibarang District, Banyumas. This quantitative research was done at a state elementary school in Ajibarang District, Banyumas. The research sample was 92 teachers, divided by 46 who have certificates and 46 who have not had certificates. Data used were primary data which collecting by questionnaire distribution. Data analyzed by t-test independent sample. This research concludes that certified teachers have a high pedagogical competence, and the pedagogical competence of uncertified teachers is lower. The professional competence of certified teachers is high, and the professional competence of uncertified teachers is lower. Paedagogic and professional competence of certified teachers are better than uncertified ones at the public elementary school in Ajibarang District Banyumas.

Abstract

Humanizing classroom is a learning model which emphasizes the students’ involvement in the classroom and considers the students’ characters, learning style, and background in every phase of teaching-learning activities. This descriptive study investigates the implementation of humanizing classroom practices by high school EFL teachers and looks for the kinds of humanism values being applied as well as their impacts on their pedagogical practices. The subjects of this study were six English teachers at MAN Salatiga. The data is gathered from classroom observation, interviews, and documents. The finding shows that humanizing classroom values is reflected in every aspect and phase of the EFL teaching-learning process, where teachers do not only apply the values during the teaching-learning activities but also in their lesson plan and evaluation. Secondly, positive impacts from the practice exist, proven by the positive feelings shown by the teachers (appreciated) and the students (more confident and comfortable) in their English classes. In addition, when teachers implement the humanizing classroom, students could freely share what they need and feel in the EFL classroom.

Abstract

Providing educational programs provides specific opportunities for better student progress. MTs Negeri 1 Boyolali offers two kinds of programs that can be chosen according to the wishes, abilities, and goals. The two programs are the regular class program and the special class program. These two programs can highlight their technology usage and English learning achievement, considering they come from different programs. Therefore, this study aims to find out whether there are differences in English learning achievement or not between the two programs. This study uses ,a mixed method; statistically collecting and analyzing the students' final semester tests results, and interviewing the teacher and students to clarify some data. Besides, an additional intervies investigates further technology usage during English learning. The data shows differences in English learning achievement and technology usage between students from regular and special class programs. The research is expected to be limited to find the differences between the two classes and to contribute ideas to all related education implementers. Ultimately, regular class students will have English skills that are not much different from students in special classes.

Abstract

In globalization, education is the main foundation for developing the potential of human resources in every country. In realizing ideal educational outcomes, it is necessary to create positive pedagogical values that allow students to grow optimally according to their essential potential. One of the educational philosophies that influence modern educational practice almost worldwide is Pestalozzi's philosophy of education. The purpose of this study is to explore the pedagogical values in Pestalozzi's philosophy. This research is a literature study, and it analyzes Pestalozzi's pedagogical values to be developed as positive pedagogic values in schools today. The analyzed documents were open access and peer-reviewed papers, or articles related to Pestalozzi from ERIC, Mendeley, Academia Edu, and CiteSeerX. It was found that ten documents met the requirements and contained data of Pestalozzi's pedagogy. The results showed that the main pedagogical values of Pestalozzi were the pedagogical values of love and moral values. Both values remain reliable as the basis for the development of classroom management by current teachers. Further research on compassion and moral-based pedagogy needs to be conducted.

Abstract

Violations of human values still occur in various regions in Indonesia.  Indonesia needs to reflect on religious values that encourage humans to an ideal social system. Efforts that can be made to realize the ideal social system are through education. One of the important aspects of national education aims to form Indonesian people with a Tawhid spirit. The national education orientation is in line with the scientific development of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi. To realize the purpose of national education, national education requires a curriculum that is based on the value of Tawhid. Therefore, the Merdeka curriculum that is being massively campaigned must be studied the dimensions of Tawhid contained in it. This study aims to analyze the concept of Tawhid Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi in the Merdeka curriculum to support the achievement of national education goals. This research is literature research. The data collection method uses documentation methods and its data analysis techniques use content analysis. The results of this study show that the Merdeka curriculum has a positive relationship with the thoughts of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi related to his thoughts on Tawhid. The relationship is reviewed based on the spirit of Tawhid contained in the profile of Pancasila students and the concept of independent learning. Tawhid is understood as the main value that becomes a universal value. That is, the value of Tawhid has implications for all elements of life. Meanwhile, independent learning can be understood as an opportunity for educators to teach faith strengthening.
