Kehadiran Jurnal Kronologi sebagai bagian penting dari usaha untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan. Selama ini banyak penelitian hanya tersimpan pada perpustakaan, berdebu dan lapuk serta hilang begitu saja. Lebih lebih hasil penelitian mahasiswa, disamping kuantitasnya yang banyak juga cukup variatif dan menginspirasi. Jurnal Kronologi berusaha menjembatani hal ini. Hasil riset akhir mahasiswa baik yang berkaitan sejarah murni dan penelitian berhubungan dengan pendidikan sejarah. Semuanya dipandang layak untuk dipublikasikan. Jurnal kronologi sebagai wadahnya. Bukan saja hasil penelitian mahasiswa sejarah Universitas Negeri Padang akan tetapi secara luas hasil penelitian akhir mahasiswa dari seluruh universitas yang terdapat di Indonesia.

Abstract

Pacu Jawi is a traditional agrarian festivity of the Minangkabau community that has undergone a significant transformation into a formally organized traditional sport, particularly in Tanah Datar Regency. This study aims to explain the development of Pacu Jawi from 1990 to 2024, tracing its evolution from a post-harvest ritual tradition to the establishment of a formal institution, namely the Persatuan Olahraga Pacu Jawi (PORWI). This research applies historical methods, including the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through literature review, interviews with traditional leaders and PORWI administrators, and documentation of Pacu Jawi events. The findings reveal that the transformation of Pacu Jawi has been influenced by modernization, tourism promotion, and local cultural preservation efforts by the community and local government. Since the formation of PORWI in 2000 and its official recognition in 2021, the governance of Pacu Jawi has undergone structural reform, including the establishment of organizational systems, implementation of procedural standards, and increased financial support from the government. Challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters were met with adaptive institutional strategies grounded in Minangkabau customary values. Today, Pacu Jawi serves not only as a sporting and cultural performance but also as a symbol of Minangkabau cultural identity and a growing source of local economic potential. This study contributes to the discourse on the history of traditional sports and the dynamics of cultural institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of variety in learning resources used in history learning, where teachers rely solely on textbooks and do not provide students with access to additional learning materials. This study aims to: (1) identify the innovation process of PADI (Digital Library) as a learning resource, (2) analyze the feasibility of PADI, (3) analyze the practicality of PADI, and (4) analyze the effectiveness of PADI as a learning resource. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The implementation was carried out with class XI/F1 students at SMA N 13 Padang. The results show that: (1) PADI was designed using the WIX platform, (2) the feasibility of PADI is categorized as very feasible, with an average score of 3.83 from material experts and 3.70 from media experts, (3) the practicality of PADI is categorized as very practical, with an average score of 3.87 from teachers and 3.76 from students, (4) the effectiveness test of PADI, based on a Google Form questionnaire, showed that 78% of students strongly agreed with its effectiveness. It can be concluded that PADI (Digital Library) is feasible, practical, and effective for use in history learning in the classroom.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of varied learning media by teachers, who mainly rely on textbooks and PowerPoint presentations dominated by text. Additionally, students often show low ability in analyzing historical events chronologically. This study aims to: (1) Determine the development process of Podcast-based learning media on the YouTube platform for history learning. (2) Assess the feasibility level of Podcast-based learning media on the YouTube platform in training students to analyze events chronologically. (3) Evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of Podcast-based learning media on the YouTube platform in training students to analyze events chronologically. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The implementation of Podcasts as a learning medium was carried out in class XI/F3 of SMA N 13 Padang. The results of the study show that: (1) Podcasts as a learning medium were developed using the YouTube platform. (2) The feasibility of the Podcast as a learning medium is categorized as highly feasible, with an average validation score from subject matter experts of 3.83 and from media experts of 3.60. (3) The practicality results of the Podcast as a learning medium are also in the highly feasible category, with an average score of 3.88 from teachers and 3.52 from students. The effectiveness test, conducted using Google Forms with three questions, indicated that Podcasts are effectively used in the history learning process.

Abstract

Lima Puluh Kota Regency is recognized as a center of Sufi teachings, commonly known as tarekat, which have developed continuously from the 17th to the late 20th century. Among the dominant orders in this region is the Naqshbandiyah. A key figure in the expansion of this Sufi order was Sheikh Mudo Abdul Qadim Belubus, a murshid at Surau Belubus, widely known among scholars of the Naqshbandiyah and Samaniyah orders. At the time, Sufi teachings were met with skepticism and were often labeled as bid’ah by the general public, requiring strategic efforts to foster acceptance. This study aims to examine Sheikh Mudo Abdul Qadim's strategies in teaching Sufism within a socially challenging context. It employs the historical method, consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, supported by field data through in-depth interviews with key informants such as Buya Suhanda and Datuk Ineh. The research also explores Sheikh Mudo’s manuscripts, including As-Sa’adatul Abdiyah, Risalah Tsabitul Qulub, and Al-Manak, which underscore his authority as a Sufi scholar. The findings reveal that Sheikh Mudo’s strategies include: (1) utilizing Silek Kumango, a traditional martial art, as a medium to introduce the Naqshbandiyah order; (2) using the Samaniyah order as an intermediary step into the Naqshbandiyah; and (3) applying religious and social approaches such as bil-hikmah, wise counsel, and mujadalah (dialogue). This study highlights the success of integrating Sufi teachings with local cultural practices, and contributes significantly to the discourse on culturally rooted da’wah and the history of Sufi orders in Minangkabau.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited teaching materials provided in schools, especially on local history material. This study aims to develop, determine the feasibility and determine the results of the practicality and effectiveness test of the use of e-modules containing local history for students of SMAN 5 Sijunjung. The local history taken in this study is the history of the arrival of Islam in Sumpur Kudus. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The research instrument was compiled including a questionnaire sheet consisting of a material expert validation sheet, an e-module expert validation sheet, and a practicality sheet for teachers and students. The implementation of this e-module was carried out on 31 students of grade X phase E at SMAN 5 Sijunjung. The data analysis of this study used quantitative descriptive obtained from scale measurements, namely Likert scale. This research went through a series of stages, starting with a needs analysis involving teachers, curriculum, and students. Furthermore, the e-module development process was designed using the Canva application. In the feasibility test phase, the material received an average score of 3.72 and the media received a score of 3.34, both of which are in the very feasible category. The implementation of the e-module was evaluated through a practicality test, where teachers gave an average score of 3.7 and students received a score of 3.51, indicating that the e-module was very practical to use. In the final stage, the effectiveness of the e-module was analyzed through interviews with teachers and students. In addition, post-tests and pre-tests were also conducted on students, which confirmed that the e-module containing local history was effective as a learning resource for students.

Abstract

This reserch began with the problems encounteredin the field, namely the absence of history kearning media available at SMAN 1 Kecamatan Guguak regarding local history of prehistori cheritage in Lima Puluh Kota Regency and the still minimaluse of IT-based media inhistory learningat SMAN 1 Kecematan Guguak. This research aims to develop and analyze the feasibility, as well as evaluate the level of practicality and effevctiveness of historiographic-based history learning media containing local history. The local history in this study is prehistoric heritage in Limia Puluh Kota Regency. The type of research used is development esearch or Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class X of SMAN 1 Kecamatan Guguak. The results of the study were obtained through several stages, namely: 1) analysis of needs related to teachers, curriculum and students; 2) design of learning media using Canva; 3) the results of the material feasibility test showed an average value of 3,62 and the results of the learning media feasibility test showed an average value of 3,61, both of which are included in the very feasible category; 4) the implementation stage is seen from the results of the practicality test with an average score of 3,72 from teachers and 3,43 from students, categorized as very practical; 5) the evaluation stage can be seen from the effectiveness test by analyzing interview responses with teachers, wihic shows historiography as an effective learning medium used in the history learning process.

Abstract

This study is motivated by preliminary data indicating that many students struggle to sequence historical events and compare past events with those occurring in the present. This reflects a low level of students' chronological thinking ability. In addition, interview results revealed that history learning has not yet utilized teaching materials capable of strengthening this skill while also addressing 21st-century learning challenges. The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs for developing digital teaching materials based on Google Sites in history learning for eleventh-grade students at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through diagnostic tests, interviews with students and teachers, and documentation of current teaching materials. The findings show that students require teaching materials that are visual, interactive, and not merely text-based. Teachers also experience difficulties in developing teaching materials due to limited technological skills. Therefore, Google Sites is considered a relevant platform to meet these needs, as it can integrate various multimedia elements flexibly and support students

Abstract

The background of this study began with the lack of teaching materials used by teachers and students which had an impact on the low causal thinking skills of students in schools. This study aims to develop web-blog-based teaching materials that are appropriate to be used as a source of supporting teaching materials in improving causal thinking in history lessons at SMA N 1 Merangin. The method used in this study is a mixed method with data collection techniques through observation and interviews and reinforced with simple tests on students so that researchers are able to obtain a needs analysis through the development of web-blog-based teaching materials. Based on these results, researchers identified a lack of teaching materials used by teachers and students in the learning process. The problems researchers encounter, then researchers want to develop teaching materials that can help support students. Of the many teaching materials that can support students, researchers use technology. With the use of technology, it will create diverse and interesting learning styles and become a support in improving students' thinking skills. The web-blog-based teaching materials that researchers develop in this study are an opportunity for students to make learning activities more interesting. So that they can improve causal thinking skills in history learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on the low interest of students in learning history caused by the use of monotonous and less innovative learning media. This study aims to develop visual learning media in the form of E-caricatures to support increasing interest in learning history of students in the history subject of class X at SMK Negeri 5 Kerinci. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive quantitative and qualitative (Mix Method). The technique of collecting data by conducting observations and interviews via google form to 20 students and 1 history subject teacher with direct interviews. The results obtained from observations and interviews are the lack of interest in learning history of students in studying history is caused by non-innovative learning media. Student interest is seen from the dominance of interest indicators such as emotional involvement (30%) and identity connections (40%), while aspects of interest that reflect active involvement and deep understanding such as cognitive involvement (15%), behavioral involvement (10%), and perceptions of historical relevance (5%). Most of the media needs survey, students actually showed interest in visual media, especially images (65%), 13 out of 20 students. Therefore, innovative image-based learning media is needed that is expected to potentially increase students' interest in learning history at SMK Negeri 5 Kerinci. Based on these findings, researchers developed e-caricature visual media to support increasing students' interest in learning history in class X history material at SMK Negeri 5 Kerinci.

Abstract

Fort Van der Capellen, a colonial Dutch heritage site located in Batusangkar City, Tanah Datar Regency, has a long history marked by various functional transformations, including serving as a colonial defense post, Japanese military headquarters, a Teacher Training College (now State University of Padang), and later the Tanah Datar Police Resort office. Since ceasing its official function in 2000, the building fell into neglect and deterioration due to aging and insufficient maintenance. This article examines the preservation efforts carried out by the government through the Batusangkar Cultural Preservation Center between 2007 and 2010, employing the historical method through heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings reveal that the preservation process occurred in three stages: first, protection through environmental cleaning in 2007 and phased physical restoration from 2008 to 2010; second, development involving documentation, technical studies, and expert involvement to ensure a planned conservation process; and third, utilization, including the fort’s adaptive reuse as the Office of Tourism, Youth, and Sports of Tanah Datar Regency and its designation as a National Cultural Heritage site.
