Abstract

Making sense on the act of spending is a complicated undertaking in the field of personal finance. Sense-making, in relation to financial expenditure, has emerged as a vital lens to understand the intricacies of spending. Hence, this study investigates the Intra and Extra of spending among the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) students of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion. Specifically, this study explores the intra of spending in terms of preferences and the extra of spending in terms of strategies among the participants  as well as any perspective emerging from the constructs being investigated. Using Creswell’s framework on phenomenological research, five graduating BSA students of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion were purposively chosen to participate following an inclusion criteria. A researcher-made semi-structured interview questionnaire, used to obtain the participant’s perception, underwent content validation. From the data transcripts that were thematically analyzed emerged three themes as regards the sense-making of spending: external force, internal drive, and value-laden. The sense-making of spending involves external force drawn from the recommendations and influences of others. The sense-making of spending signifies internal drive which stemmed from habits, sense of fulfillment, and priorities of the spender. The sense-making of spending purports value-laden which is shaped by perceptions of financial management and the perceived worth ascribed to purchases. The study recommends the creation of a formation program regarding the sense-making capability vis-a-vis students' responsible spending behaviors choices. Future researchers are recommended to explore varied approaches to further investigate sense-making in spending.

Abstract

The traditional sheep farming process is carried out by smallholder sheep farmers in West Java based on the inheritance passed down from their parents. A more detailed examination of the process of cultivating people's sheep reveals significant economic potential, encompassing the upstream sub-sector, the on-farm sub-sector, and the downstream sub-sector. This lucrative business opportunity is challenging for smallholder sheep farming to attain, partly due to difficulties in communication. The objective of this study is to gain insight into the communication factors that influence the entrepreneurial spirit of smallholder sheep farming in West Java. This study employs three variables: communication frequency, communication quality, and information sources. This research employs a quantitative analytical method of the causal-comparative research type. The analysis yielded findings indicating that communication techniques play a pivotal role in influencing the entrepreneurial spirit of smallholder sheep farming

Abstract

Rescue robots are essential instruments during emergencies and natural disasters since they are outfitted with sophisticated thermal sensors, can withstand extreme temperatures, and can move in close proximity to the person in need. By operating in environments that are hazardous and unsafe for human responders such as burning or collapsed buildings, toxic chemical spills, or extreme weather conditions, rescue robots minimize risk and improve response durations.  Generally, this study aimed to determine the functionality in terms of a) duration of flight, capabilities of device thermal range detection, c) device’s control range. The electrical parts of the robot prototype were tested to determine if they are functional before the robot was assembled. In constructing the Search Robot, we used Phantom 3 Motherboard and Motors, Thermal Sensor, 3D modelled parts using Fusion 360 were then sliced using CURA and 3D printed using the Ender 3D printer. The robot was programmed with embedded C++ coding and were all assembled and placed with 3D printed parts and attachments. The functionality of the robot in terms of detecting the person and fire was tested two times. It can be determined in the thermal sensor if there is a person or object by displaying a dark blue highlight, and fires can be detected by the sensor and the highlight’s color may vary depending on the flame’s temperature, mostly being yellow to red highlights. The success rate was computed to determine the average functionality. A 100% success rate shows that SR Pyroterra Thermatron can successfully navigate and locate the person.

Abstract

Children are social beings with the same needs as adults, thus stress is something they will always encounter. They might experience fear or worry when faced with difficult situations. Children's stress typically stems from a variety of factors, including the strain of academics. Children with stress can exhibit physical and behavioral symptoms from academics including feelings of fear and anger, difficulty finishing tasks or receiving good grades, a load of crying, lack of appetite, and thoughts of harming themselves. Children who are under persistent stress may experience overload, melancholy, excessive worry, and physical and mental health disorders. The goal of this study is to lower the prevalence of early stress in children and school-age individuals, particularly in elementary school-aged students to develop optimal mental health as it ought to. This study's research approach is quantitative, and descriptive, and also involves literature review from some journals and a lot of data and information from articles. Data from questionnaire forms completed by 120 linked respondents, in total, are attached to this study. Additionally, the results of this study, which were derived from the data collection that was done, are known to indicate that a significant portion of children who completed elementary school in the past still experience academic stress, which can negatively impact the child and students' mental and physical health. Consequently, there is a need for initiatives or movements that might end these instances and problems to provide Indonesian society with a developed and healthy nation

Abstract

Cost accounting, a type of managerial accounting where the goal is to record the entire cost of production, provides fundamental business knowledge to make informed decisions about allocating resources, increasing output, and maximizing profit.  The exploration of cost accounting considering forecasting, budgeting, and planning is based on the views of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) students as future entrepreneurs. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology using the lens of phenomenology, three purposively selected fourth-year BSA students enrolled in the College of Business, Management, and Accountancy of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion participated and provided data according to their lived experience. The research instrument used in this study was a validated semi-structured questionnaire with open-ended questions to generate comprehensive insights from the participants. The findings of the study highlight the relevance of the cost accounting to BSA students as future entrepreneurs. Cost accounting in consideration of forecasting, budgeting, and planning emerged three views that are contextual, procedural, and comparative in nature, hence, the CPC Views of Cost Accounting. The acronym CPC stands for Contextual view, Procedural view, and Comparative view. This study provides evidence that the cost accounting view helps students learn more about the financial implications of their decisions by utilizing cost accounting concepts, procedures, and methodologies. It may create reasonable financial objectives, allocate resources wisely, and make well-informed decisions under the light of the CPC views of Cost Accounting.

Abstract

This study explored the acceptability of Redflower Ragleaf (Crassocephalum crepidioides) tea infused with mint (Mentha x piperita). The primary objectives were to evaluate the tea's acceptance based on color, aroma, taste, body, and overall acceptability. Additionally, the study aimed to identify the most preferred treatment and to establish a cost analysis ensuring a profitable return on investment. The researchers employed a quasi-experimental research design to achieve these objectives. The findings indicated that treatment 1 was the most favored, excelling in color, flavor, aroma, and overall acceptability, with moderate to high approval ratings across all parameters. For the body, treatment 2 received the highest rating, closely followed by treatment 1. The conclusions underscored treatment 1's higher acceptability; however, further improvements were recommended to enhance its characteristics. It was suggested to conduct laboratory testing to confirm the product's safety and economic feasibility and to extend the investigation into the interaction effects of the ingredients. A comprehensive feasibility study was also recommended to provide an in-depth analysis of production costs and the capital required for commercializing the tea. Additionally, further research into packaging and branding was advised to ensure the product was market-ready.
