Abstract

This study aims to: (i) describe the need of developing a guidance and counseling module based on traditional games to promote prosocial behavior in students of SDN (State Elementary School) 86 Longi; (ii) describe the prototype of a guidance and counseling module based on traditional games to promote prosocial behavior in students of SDN 86 Longi;and (iii) examine the acceptability of the development of a guidance and counseling module based on traditional games to promote prosocial behavior in students of SDN 86 Longi. This study used the Research and Development approach that was developed by Borg and Gall and consisted of seven stages. The subjects of this study were eight students of SDN 86 Longi. The data of this study were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Results showed that (1) developing a traditional game-based guidance and counseling module for SDN 86 Longi students was very necessary; (ii) the prototype of the traditional game-based guidance and counseling module consisted of a module for students, teacher’s manuals and worksheets; (iii) the acceptability of the traditional game-based guidance and counseling module was considered valid and usable based on the results of the utility, feasibility, accuracy, content and small group testing.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the movement of parents teaching in schools in order to improve the motivation of learners by involving parents in school programs. This program is implemented one of the goals is to reduce the number of school dropouts that occur in coastal areas. This research uses qualitative naturalistic approach. Data collection is done through observation, interview, and documentation. The subjects of this study include principals, teachers, employees, parents of learners and learners. the validity of data is done by triangulation, prolongation of research and observation persistence. The results showed that the implementation of parental teaching movement that has been implemented in SD Negeri 10 Pangkalanbaru very effective implemented. The program that has been implemented is the carier day program. The program is implemented to foster the spirit and motivation and do not experience dropping out and have aspirations to continue their education to a higher level. The parents' tasks of the students in this parenting teaching program is that they are asked to describe and tell the profession all this time they do. The profession will also be associated with the subjects that are learned by the students in the school

Abstract

This study aims to discuss how teenage K-pop fans need a proper approach to be introduced to the forms of cyberbullying, to describe how to recognize and overcome cyberbullying, and to discuss K-pop as media literacy for K-pop fans. This study was a library research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaire and observation. The results of observation indicated that the easy access to the internet and the unlimited use of social media have contributed to the popularity of K-pop in Indonesia. K-pop fans can easily access their idols’ songs, music videos, activities, etc. Social media, which have been widely used thanks to the convenience and affordability of internet access, have posed positive and negative impacts. One of the most alarming negative impacts of social media is cyberbullying. The results of the study showed that: 1) there were different forms of cyberbullying experienced by K-pop fans, and 2) there were different sources of cyberbullying experienced by teenage K-pop fans, including inside, internal, and external sources.

Abstract

This research is a case study with qualitative method aiming to determine (i) hedonistic behavior of student at Senior High School 6 of Palopo, (ii) factors behind the hedonistic behavior of student at Senior High School 6 of Palopo, and (iii) efforts used to overcome hedonistic behavior of student at Senior High School 6 of Palopo. Subject of this research is a twelfthgrade student who is identified as having hedonistic behavior. Interview and observation guidelines were used as instruments of data collection. The data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis with triangulation technique. This study discovered that (i) the subject's description of hedonistic behavior is due to her interests (in branded goods and to be the center of attention), activities (spending a lot of time outside, buying things that are not needed, and visiting shopping centers and cafes), and also opinions (views of life), (ii) hedonistic behavior of the subject was caused by internal and external factors in which the internal factors came from the subject itself such as the desire to be recognized, while the external one was parents’ attention, social environment’s influence, and peers influence, (iii) the effort conducted to overcome the hedonistic behavior was individual counseling with logotherapy technique.

Abstract

The study aims to find out (1) an overview of the needs analysis for the use of Student Development Inventories (IPS). (2) How is the prototype for developing student development inventory (IPS), (3) the level of validity, reliability and feasibility of developing a Student Development Inventory (IPS) as one of the data collection tools in State High School 9 Bulukumba. Research is a research or development research involving 15 high school students in a small group trial. The results showed (1) Student development inventory (IPS) as a measuring instrument / instrument is very needed, in the form of updates or updates in terms of form, content and problem areas of BK and too many statement items that make students tired of reading and filling inventory. (2) Prototype Student development inventory (IPS) developed in full with manuals, so that guidance and counseling teachers can use inventory. (3) the results of the trial obtained the value of student development inventory validity (IPS) are on a scale of 4.17 at the stage of validity expert test with valid criteria, the value of reliability test obtained high criteria or reliable, so it can be concluded that student development inventory (IPS) with a number of 76 items that are valid, reliable statements can be used as student development inventories (IPS)

Abstract

It is important for higher education institutions to put efforts on the competence achievement of their graduates in preparing their career. There needs to be mentoring to help students prepare for their career through career counselling service. Further, the existence of the latest technology helps manage life problems more systematically, practically, and efficiently. Therefore, a digital career counselling system in the format of a module can help ease the students’ career preparation flexibly. This research is aimed to produce career counselling digital modules for the students. It applied research and development method with quantitative and qualitative analysis to test the product. The data were obtained through focus group discussion and counselling with some experts chosen using cluster random sampling technique. The aim of career counselling is to investigate students’ self-understanding, career preparation and career readiness in relation to career selection. The analysis of product testing shows an average result of 3.5 of modules with the category good/suitable/interesting and appropriate. The digital application of career counselling helps students plan, prepare, and understand the discourse of career and the world of employment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (i) the needs for personal guidance media using the challenge card game to improve self-acceptance of the SMAIT Nurul Fikri Makassar students; (2) the prototype of personal guidance media using the challenge card game to improve self-acceptance of the SMAIT Nurul Fikri Makassar students; and (3) the acceptability of the personal guidance media using the challenge card game to improve self-acceptance of the SMAIT Nurul Fikri Makassar students. This study adopted a research model from Borg & Gall and used interviews and questionnaires for data collection. The results showed that (1) the needs for personal guidance media using the challenge card game to improve self-acceptance of the SMAIT Nurul Fikri Makassar students were high; (2) the prototype of personal guidance media using the challenge card game included challenge cards, worksheets, a guidebook, and self-acceptance reading texts; and (3) the validity and acceptability of the product received moderate-to-high responses from the subject matter expert, the media expert and the guidance and counseling practitioner, while the acceptability of the small group trial of 8 students in grade 12 at SMAIT Nurul Fikri Makassar showed a very high response.

Abstract

The aim of this study were to explore the type of personality based on Big Five Personality Traits model, to explore the academic achievement, and to investigate the effect of personality on academic achievement in college students. The participants are 321 students at University of HKBP Nommensen in 2015-2016 academic year. The instrument used for assessing the personality was the Big Five Personality Scale (includes dimensions neuroticsm, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, dan openness). Based on the descriptive analysis, it was found that most of the participants are classified in neuroticsm type. Related with the academic achievement, higher GPA was dominated by female students (GPA ≥2.75). Based on the regression analysis, it was found that personality effect the academic achievement significantly (R= 0,26; R2 = 6,9 %; F= 4,69; p-value <0,001). Based on the advance analysis of each dimension’s contribution for academic achievement, it was found that neuroticsm, extraversion, conscienstiousness are significantly effected academic achievement.

Abstract

The study aims at discovering description to career understanding of before and after treatment and at discovering career information service has an influence on the career understanding of students. This type of research is a quantitative of research type with an experimental research design of true experimental type. The sampling technique uses random sampling technique with the lottery method. Data collection techniques used two tools, namely the scale of social empathy and observation. Data analysis techniques used descriptive data analysis and inferential data analysis. The results showed that: (1) The level of career understanding of students at before being treated in this case career information services were in the low category, but after being treated the level of career understanding of students had increased or were in the very high category. (2) Career information services have an influence in improving student’s career understanding. This means that if the career information service is implemented it will help improve student’s career understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the work morale of the lecturer at the "X" University, to examine the construct validity and construct reliability of the work moral scale, to know the contribution of work morale aspects and indicators in reflecting the work morale of the lecturer, and to test the work moral measurement model. Methods of data collection using the moral work scale. Data analysis was done by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with second order confirmatory factor analysis (2nd Order CFA). The results show that lecturers at university "X" have morale in high category. The dominant aspect that reflects work morale is the aspect of responsibility with the indicator is the ability to finish the job and the job is done as well as possible. The lowest aspect that reflects work morale is morale with an indicator of willpower in work and pleasure in work.
