ABDIKAN (Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bidang Sains dan Teknologi) diterbitkan 4 (empat) kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Februari, Mei, Agustus dan November oleh Yayasan Literasi Sains Indonesia. Jurnal ABDIKAN didedikasikan untuk mempublikasi hasil-hasil kegiatan Pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa, Dosen dan seluruh lapisan Masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan hasil pemikiran dan gagasan konseptual, serta tentang kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan permasalahan yang ada di lingkungan masyarakat dalam bidang sains dan teknologi.

<![CDATA[Community service activities are activities carried out in the stunting locus area in Sidrap Regency, which are the service activities and responsibilities of ITKES Muhammadiyah Sidrap lecturers and students. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the quality of maternal and child health, it is necessary to implement the use of the MCH handbook in the context of stunting prevention which is carried out at the Cendana Village Office, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The method of implementing this activity is a site survey, activity plan, activity implementation and activity evaluation. The results of this community service activity in the health sector show the enthusiasm, motivation and enthusiasm of the community in participating in this activity. This PKM activity was carried out at the Cendrana Village Office which was attended by government officials, pregnant women, cadres, parents, community leaders in Cendana village. This activity was carried out in conjunction with free medical check-ups conducted by students, then socialization was carried out on the use of MCH books by lecturers. The consistency of the academic community in carrying out community service activities in the health sector needs to be maintained and even improved in order to support the tri dharma of higher education.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this service is to determine the scientific writing ability of students at IAI West Sumatra and the factors that influence it. The lack of student knowledge about article writing and how to publish inspiring articles is done by community service to convey socialization and provide training on writing this article. If students understand the importance of writing articles in the academic world, it is hoped that they will be motivated to write scientific articles and publish scientific articles as contributors to the development of science, and can practice it directly by utilizing journals managed by the campus. Based on the partner's main problem, namely the lack of knowledge of students about writing scientific articles, the solution offered to partners is to provide materials related to writing scientific articles, reference managers, submit and publish articles to increase student understanding in writing scientific articles. The methods used are presentation, questions and answers, and simulations. The target to be achieved in this community service activity is the introduction of article writing for West Sumatra IAI students. The output target of this program is to increase the ability to write articles for IAI West Sumatra students and the ability to publish articles in national journals. The data sources studied were IAI West Sumatra students.]]>

<![CDATA[The Covid-19 virus can be overcome by increasing the body's resistance. One of the efforts to increase endurance is by utilizing family medicinal plants which generally grow more as wild plants in the yard and are widely used as an additional ingredient in cooking but are also widely used for healing, disease prevention, increasing endurance, and restoration of freshness which in turn improves public health. Knowledge and public response about the use of medicinal plants is still limited. Seeing the response of one group of women in the South Fakfak Village who has family medicinal plants, it is deemed necessary to do community service regarding the management of the family medicinal plants. The approach method uses community empowerment methods, especially target groups through counseling and training carried out by distributing pocket books on the use of family medicinal plants to 50 mothers and cadres in South Fakfak Village. The results of this activity show that in general, the knowledge of mothers and health cadres in South Fakfak Village has increased after providing counseling and training with pocket book media. This is evidenced by the answer scores, where the average post-test score is 86.20 and is higher than the pre-test score of 72.3. The percentage increase in knowledge increased by 14.17%. The results of community service by means of counseling and training by giving pocket books can increase the knowledge of mothers and cadres in increasing family endurance. Suggestions to the PKK Kelurahan to hold a family medicinal plant competition at the kelurahan level, form a small group of traditional herbal medicine businesses.]]>

<![CDATA[Improving teacher competence is very important to support the quality of education. There is still a lack of digital literacy mastery among kindergarten teachers in learning, especially learning English. There are many obstacles faced by teachers in mastering digital literacy such as a lack of knowledge about the features of laptops, and lack of understanding how to operate laptops or smartphones. The other obstacles in learning English in kindergarten is the teachers educational background who are not from the English Education study program. The purpose of this Community Partnership Service Activities is to improve the teacher competence in mastering ICT. The method used is through training, question and answer and direct mentoring. Participants who participated in this activity were kindergarten teachers from cluster 3 of Jayapura city consisting of 12 kindergarten teachers. This activity conducted for two days. At the beginning of the activity, a pre-test was distributed to measure participants' understanding of digital literacy in learning English. Monitoring and evaluation are done by giving post-test directly to participants. The results of this this Community Partnership Service Activities are 82% or 10 teachers from 12 teachers have increased their competence in mastery of digital literacy in learning English in kindergarten. ]]>

<![CDATA[Skills in using computers or digital are also very instrumental in determining a person's success in this case at the level of education. Vocational High School (SMKN) 1 Sakra is a vocational high school in Sakra District, East Lombok district. Class of 2020 students are students who from the beginning of entry to graduation are students who created the Covid 19 pandemic, the teaching and learning process uses courage. Vocational students who should get maximum practicum are constrained because learning is carried out at home using bold learning, this causes the knowledge and skills of grade 3 students to be minimal and can result in students having difficulty finding work. From this problem, the PkM team at the Mataram University of Technology improved computer skills and information management by conducting training that focused on the introduction of the internet, operating MS. Office and how to manage information in this case using Google Drive. The results of this study were students' knowledge of computers and information technology, students were able to operate well Ms. Office and students are able to manage information well.]]>

<![CDATA[Yaugapsa Village, Demta Sub-district, Jayapura District, Papua is one of the villages with abundant coconuts. Coconut trees have enormous benefits for human life. Almost all parts of this tree have benefits. All parts of this tree can be used to produce many products, for example, coconut leaves can be used as woven material and brooms; coconut stems can be used for building materials; and coconut fruit can be used as food. One of the products made from coconut that has many health benefits and a high selling value is virgin coconut oil (VCO). This community service program (PKM) aims to increase the knowledge of the member of PKK (family welfare program) in Yaugapsa Village, Demta Sub-district, Jayapura District by providing training on producing VCO which is useful for maintaining family health and as a business opportunity. The method used was interviews, practices, and discussions and followed by 30 mothers. The result of this training activity is that the manufacture of virgin coconut oil (VCO) does not use additional methods. The manufacture of VCO oil only uses coconut milk without the addition of other substances. The result of this activity is that the oil produced is very clear. This tranning provides a lof of information about VCO production whish is new information and knowledge for participants so than it can be an opportunity for businesses to increase family income.]]>

<![CDATA[Currently, social media is widely used for negative activities or things, for example fraud and account break-ins. Many activities are carried out online, for example: school and work which is known as work from home. So all activities are more focused on gadgets. To maximize time productively, it is necessary to hold activities that hone skills. In addition to filling time, these skills can be used to create works that are marketable so that they can increase income. The implementation of online training with knitting activities to make handicrafts such as totebags is expected to be able to help the community, especially members of the LINE Learning Knitting and Sewing Group, to make more use of social media and to be more productive in their time. The activity was carried out in the LINE group to learn knitting and sewing. In order to reduce the existing problems, namely helping the community in using social media wisely and spending their free time productively when PPKM is in progress by adding knitting skills which can be sold so that they can increase their income and reduce plastic waste by using totebags for shopping bags. and utilizing crackle waste, cloth into a masterpiece.]]>

<![CDATA[Tidore Islands City is one of the cinnamon producers in North Maluku Province. Several Kelurahans in this area have cinnamon potential, one of which is Kelurahan Jaya. This area is a producer of cinnamon which is quite famous and is often traded. However, farmers are less interested in cultivating cinnamon, one of the reasons is that the price is far below the other two commodities, namely cloves and nutmeg. It's just that production at the farm level decreased because the sale of this commodity did not match the exchange rate received. In addition, the lack of public knowledge about cultivation will have an impact on its sustainability in the future as well as the lack of exploitation and product diversification. This Community Service activity aims to provide knowledge to farmer groups about cinnamon nurseries. This activity was carried out by the method of discussion and giving lectures which were carried out between the lecturer team and representatives of the CAWADA farmer group in Jaya Village. Community service activities were carried out in Jaya Village, Tidore Islands City on 16-17 July 2022. The writing method used a descriptive approach. The results of the farming business analysis show that the price of cinnamon bark is quite low when compared to clove and nutmeg commodities. The profit obtained by clove commodities can reach Rp. 9,500,000 – 38,500,000, -. / tree. Meanwhile, the price of dried nutmeg flower / mace is 9 times or Rp. 250.000,-/kg. Cinnamon plant nurseries can be done in Tidore Islands City because the condition of this area has an ideal topography and altitude for cinnamon plants. Several types of vegetable crops such as chayote, eggplant and chili as well as local fruits can be planted together through the Agroforestry system with fence and alley cropping patterns. The nursery stage is carried out through land selection, preparation of seeds to planting.]]>

<![CDATA[This activity aims to deepen educational problems in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province (NTT) border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. The implementation of this activity is to conduct discussions to increase understanding of strategic issues regarding educational problems with lecturers and postgraduate students at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang NTT. The method of writing this paper is to use a qualitative approach by reviewing various kinds of literature and discussions carried out. The growth of education services in NTT is increasing in line with educational investments made by the government, such as increasing the number of classrooms in high schools, vocational schools, and universities/polytechnics. However, the average education rating in NTT is still the fourth lowest in Indonesia. The district with the worst conditions on the border is Malacca. The areas that need attention as the next priority are the districts of Kupang and Belu, which the State of Timor Leste borders. ]]>

<![CDATA[Covid-19 pandemic which has been going on for approximately the last two years and has had a major impact on the Indonesian people and economy. Indonesia's economic activity is getting weaker and lowering people's purchasing power. One of the prevention strategies implemented by the government is by limiting community mobility through work from home and also study from home for the community. Since the enactment of this policy, people have more free time at home. Therefore, this PKM activity aims to introduce business opportunities that can be utilized by the community. This free handicraft training hopes that the participants will maximize the training to make handicrafts from hemp/jute rope and earn additional income during the pandemic. The target of this activity is the community in Lamteuba Droe Village, Seulimum, Aceh Besar District. Based on the results of the work made by the participants, this PKM activity can be said to be successful in the first experiment because they can create and produce their work well in each group. The handicrafts made have also met the expectations of the PKM team and can be said to be worthy of sale.]]>
