Abstract

This research explores the conceptualization of peace in Islamic teachings, focusing on Surah Al-Anfal Verse 61 in the Quran. The method employed in this study is a literature review. The data collected and analyzed are secondary research findings from books, journals, articles, websites, and other relevant sources. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used in this research involves content analysis. The research findings reveal a comprehensive discussion of the relationship between Islam and the principles of peace. Verses in the Quran, particularly Surah Al-Anfal Verse 61, guide believers to lean towards peace and trust Allah when faced with the desire for peace. The Quran portrays Islam as a religion of peace, where peace is the general rule, and war is only justified in specific, compelling circumstances. The fundamental goal of Islam is to transform human thinking, initiating an intellectual revolution based on the oneness of God or Tawhid. The implications of this research extend beyond the academic realm, influencing broader discourse on Islam and peace. The proactive roles of Islamic organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah in regional and international peace initiatives demonstrate the practical application of Islamic values. This research provides recommendations for universities to actively promote peace in contemporary society by emphasizing the crucial values of peace and security in human existence, as outlined in Surah Al-Anfal Verse 61.

Abstract

This research undertakes a comprehensive literature review to analyze output-based quality assurance in Islamic educational institutions. The study systematically reviews scholarly articles published between 2019 and 2023, focusing on quality assurance and educational institution outputs. The findings highlight the pivotal roles of vision and mission alignment, strategic program implementation, robust facilities, and the cultivation of academically and competitively adept graduates. Key outcomes from the review include the importance of effective communication in achieving Islamic institutional goals, the significance of academic and non-academic flagship programs, and the criticality of a strong teaching and learning process. The study also reveals the efficacy of integrating strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and a balance of academic excellence and character development in enhancing educational quality. Despite its comprehensive nature, the research acknowledges limitations in its scope, primarily its reliance on existing literature, which may not encompass all possible educational contexts. Future research should explore diverse educational settings further and assess the long-term impacts of quality assurance strategies on student outcomes and Islamic institutional reputation. This study significantly contributes to the discourse on educational quality assurance, advocating for comprehensive, adaptable, and inclusive strategies in response to the evolving demands of the educational landscape.

Abstract

This study delves into the enhancement of literacy culture at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nyatnyono 01, Semarang Regency, through Talcott Parsons' functional-structural theory, particularly the AGIL framework (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latency), using a qualitative case study method. Structured interviews with key personnel like Mrs. AL, the head of the Madrasah, participatory observation, and documentation analysis formed the basis of data collection, which was analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model for structured and reliable insights. The research facilitated by the Reading Corner initiative highlights significant improvements in literacy among students. Adaptation was evident as students actively engaged in reading activities during breaks, while Goal Attainment was reflected in integrating literacy into various subjects, aiming for improved academic performance. Integration was achieved by blending literacy with diverse issues using innovative teaching models and motivational materials, and Latency was seen in the internalization of literacy habits within the school community. Despite its specific focus and the need for further research to explore long-term impacts in varied contexts, this study contributes to the broader discourse on literacy, emphasizing the need for culturally specific approaches in educational settings and providing a potential model for enhancing literacy culture in other institutions.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic education in shaping student character in the context of the modern era, particularly amidst the challenges of Industry 4.0. Utilizing a qualitative methodology with a literature review approach, this research delves into historical perspectives on character, Islamic viewpoints on human nature, and contemporary learner characteristics, especially among Generation Z. Character in Islamic education is conceptualized as an amalgamation of innate traits and environmental influences, as reflected in Islamic teachings and the tripod theory of education. The study uncovers four primary streams of character formation - Fatalistic-Passive, Neutral-Passive, Positive-Active, and Dualistic-Active, aligning with Islamic teachings on children's innate purity and environmental impact. The analysis reveals that the rapid technological advancements characteristic of Industry 4.0 pose significant challenges to student character, leading to moral and ethical dilemmas. Islamic education emerges as a crucial tool for instilling values such as sincerity and respect for teachers while internalizing Islamic values within familial settings. The study emphasizes the need for an integrated educational approach that balances academic pursuits with character development, adapting Islamic education to modern challenges while retaining its core values. It contributes to the discourse on education, highlighting the role of religious teachings in contemporary educational practices. Recognizing its limitations, the study suggests further research into the application and long-term impact of character education across diverse educational settings.
