Abstract

This study adopts a qualitative case study approach to explore implementing and reinforcing religious moderation attitudes among students at Lempuyangwangi Public Elementary School in Yogyakarta. Through observation, interviews, documentation review, and literature analysis, the research delves into the perceptions and experiences of teachers, the principal, and students concerning religious moderation. Utilizing the Miles and Huberman model for data analysis and employing strategies such as triangulation and member checking for reliability and validity, the study unveils a comprehensive view of religious moderation education across diverse religious practices. Results highlight the school's commitment to fostering tolerance and understanding through the principles of honesty, openness, compassion, flexibility, and respect among its multi-religious student body. The study identifies the school's unique approach to religious education, emphasizing the essential role of educational settings in promoting a harmonious society. While acknowledging limitations in scope, the research underscores the need for further investigation into the longitudinal impacts of such educational practices. It suggests a collaborative model involving educators, parents, and the community in expanding religious moderation education. This case study not only enriches the academic discourse on religious moderation but also offers valuable insights for developing inclusive educational frameworks that support Indonesia's diverse identity.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas pentingnya pengembangan program penelitian dalam kajian keislaman untuk menghasilkan teori dan prinsip fundamental yang dapat berfungsi sebagai "sabuk pelindung" bagi ilmu pengetahuan Islam. Penulis mengkritik pendekatan penelitian yang normatif dan kurang inovatif, serta menyoroti perubahan sistem pendidikan di Indonesia dari KTSP ke K13 yang memerlukan kurikulum yang dinamis dan fleksibel. Dengan mengusulkan penerapan metodologi penelitian Imre Lakatos, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendinamisasi ilmu pengetahuan dan mengintegrasikan teori-teori yang ada. Metodologi Lakatos, yang terdiri dari inti pokok, lingkaran pelindung, dan rangkaian teori, menawarkan pendekatan yang lebih terbuka dan kritis terhadap pemikiran keagamaan, mendorong penelitian berbasis argumentasi rasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis isi untuk mengeksplorasi gagasan Lakatos serta relevansinya dalam konteks moderasi beragama dan pendidikan Islam. Kesimpulannya, penting untuk terus membangun program penelitian dalam studi Islam agar dapat menghasilkan pengetahuan yang relevan dan bermanfaat bagi umat. This paper discusses the importance of developing research programs in Islamic studies to produce fundamental theories and principles that can serve as a “protective belt” for Islamic science. The author criticizes the normative and less innovative research approach, and highlights the change of education system in Indonesia from KTSP to K13 which requires a dynamic and flexible curriculum. By proposing the application of Imre Lakatos' research methodology, this paper aims to dynamize science and integrate existing theories. Lakatos' methodology, which consists of a central core, a protective circle, and a series of theories, offers a more open and critical approach to religious thought, encouraging research based on rational argumentation. This research uses a qualitative approach and content analysis to explore Lakatos' ideas and their relevance in the context of religious moderation and Islamic education. In conclusion, it is important to continue building research programs in Islamic studies in order to produce knowledge that is relevant and useful for the ummah.

Abstract

This article examines the narrative of the descent of Prophet Adam and Eve from heaven to earth, by comparing the perspectives contained in the Qur'an and the Bible. This article is a qualitative research that uses a linguistic approach with a focus on intertextuality analysis. The aim is to explore and compare the narrative of Adam's descent in the Qur'an and the Bible through the lens of Julia Kristeva's theory, which emphasizes the social, cultural, and historical context in understanding the text. Data were collected from literature studies, including primary sources such as the texts of the Qur'an, the Bible, and Kristeva's works. The analysis was conducted descriptively-analystically to examine the intertextual elements and dynamics of meaning from both texts. This study also applies theoretical triangulation to ensure the validity of the data by comparing the results of the analysis with other theoretical perspectives. With this approach, the article aims to reveal the deeper meaning of the story of Adam's descent and its contribution to the understanding of human identity and morality in a religious context. This article highlights differences in narrative details, such as the location of the descent and the consequences of Adam and Eve's actions, and how this story reflects gender and identity dynamics. By referring to the social and cultural context, this article shows that the story of Adam is not only a religious story, but also a reflection on the complex human condition.

Abstract

By making it as content, this study sees the Hāfizh Qur'an educational game as a means for students who are undergoing muroja'ah and helps them in memorizing the Qur'an. The students can then improve their memorization of the Quran because they are so excited or entertained. The design and implementation of learning games about the Qur'an and the reasons for the establishment of the Daarul Huffadz Indonesia Islamic Boarding School Citereup branch are the problems that are being researched. The idea and implementation of the Qur'an hafizh educational game at the Daarul Huffadz Indonesia Islamic Boarding School Citeureup branch is the subject of this qualitative research. Field research is this type of research. Data collection methods include documentation, interviews, and observations. The steps of Miles and Huberman data analysis are data collection, data reduction, and data presentation, which are then used in data analysis techniques. The findings of the study show that the educational game of hafizh Al-Qur'an is in the form of a guessing game including the title of the surah and related verses. Entertain, eliminate boredom, improve memory, engaging, and much more. During the implementation of the Hāfizh Qur'an educational game, students use laptops to solve puzzles to compose the names of the surahs in the Qur'an. In the verse continuation game, the ustadzah read one verse first, then continued by the Citeureup branch students in turn. The purpose of the Hāfizh Qur'an educational game is to keep students engaged, facilitate memorization, and encourage the next generation to remember the Qur'an through its content.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis sistem evaluasi dalam pendidikan Islam dari sudut pandang filosofis. Menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-naratif, metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi literatur dengan membaca teks-teks yang relevan untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa evaluasi dalam pendidikan Islam berfungsi sebagai umpan balik (feedback) atau dikenal dengan istilah muraja’ah terhadap kegiatan pendidikan. Terdapat berbagai model evaluasi yang telah dikembangkan oleh para ahli yang dapat diterapkan dalam mengevaluasi program pendidikan. Namun, model evaluasi yang umum digunakan dalam lembaga pendidikan Islam antara lain adalah: model CIPP (Stufflebeam), model Kirkpatrick, model Scriven, dan Contenance Evaluation Model (Stake), serta beberapa model lainnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan praktik evaluasi dalam pendidikan Islam. Dengan memahami evaluasi dari perspektif filosofis, pendidik diharapkan dapat merancang sistem evaluasi yang tidak hanya efektif dalam mengukur pencapaian akademis, tetapi juga mendukung pengembangan karakter peserta didik.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Qur'anic interpretation in improving students' understanding of Islamic teachings, focusing on students' lack of in-depth understanding of the context and meaning of Qur'anic verses. This study aims to highlight the important role of interpretation in the context of Islamic education, focusing on how interpretation can be an effective tool in improving students' understanding and engagement. Using a qualitative approach, this study collected data through a literature review and analysis of relevant interpretation documents. The results show that Qur'anic interpretation can be an effective tool in learning, improving students' knowledge, and encouraging active engagement and critical thinking. Interpretation serves as a bridge between the sacred text and the realities of life, strengthening students' spiritual and moral foundations. Thus, Qur'anic interpretation serves as a bridge connecting the sacred text with the realities of life, strengthening students' spiritual and moral foundations in understanding and practicing Islamic teachings comprehensively. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating interpretation into the Islamic education curriculum to achieve a more comprehensive understanding among students. The results of this study are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of Islamic teaching teaching methods in schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the role of Islamic Religious Education in encouraging real action for environmental conservation, with a focus on efforts to green the earth based on faith values. The research method used is a literature study, which involves the analysis of library sources to understand the concepts and principles of Islamic teachings related to the environment and their application in education. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education has significant potential in building ecological awareness and responsible behavior towards the environment through the internalization of Islamic values. Islamic teachings emphasize the harmonious relationship between humans and nature, responsible resource management, and the importance of preserving the earth as a divine mandate. Implications for the future are the need to develop a more integrative and contextual Islamic Religious Education curriculum and learning methods, which connect religious values ​​with global environmental issues. In addition, this study encourages the active involvement of Islamic educational institutions, religious figures, and Muslim communities in the environmental conservation movement, as well as cross-sector collaboration to achieve sustainable development goals. Thus, Islamic Religious Education can be a transformative force in realizing a greener and more sustainable earth based on faith principles.

Abstract

This article aims to critically examine the intervention of political policies in the process of reconstructing the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Indonesia, by highlighting how the dynamics of political power play a role in shaping the direction and content of the curriculum. This study uses a literature study method, by examining various secondary sources such as education policy documents, PAI curricula from time to time, academic journals, and literature relevant to the relationship between politics and education. The results of the study show that changes in the PAI curriculum are often inseparable from the influence of practical politics, where the ideological agenda of power influences the content of values, teaching materials, and pedagogical approaches used. In this context, the PAI curriculum tends to be a tool for legitimizing power, not merely as a means of developing the character and spirituality of students. The novelty of this study lies in the critical review approach used to examine the curriculum as a socio-political product, not only as an academic construction. In addition, this article contributes by offering a contextual approach in developing the PAI curriculum that is more responsive to the needs of the times, upholds the values ??of Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin, and emphasizes the importance of the involvement of educational actors who are independent of political interests in the process of formulating the curriculum.

Abstract

In facing global challenges, there needs to be a major contribution to Islamic Education Management to optimize the career orientation of postgraduate students. This research provides insight into the factors that influence students in choosing a study program. The objectives of this research: 1) Provide insight into the decision-making process of postgraduate students at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in choosing the Islamic Education Management study program, 2) Identify the most relevant factors that influence the choice of study program. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study at the Postgraduate Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The data collection techniques are through semi-structured interview techniques and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques in this research include 3 methods, namely: Data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions from the data. The findings of this research include: 1) Students chose to continue their studies at the UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang Postgraduate Program for self-development and career advancement in the future, 2) The UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang Campus was chosen because of its good reputation, superior study program accreditation, and a positive brand image, 3) A diverse undergraduate educational background is not an obstacle in choosing an MPI study program, 4) Factors such as job prospects, advice from lecturers, and family influence play an important role in choosing an MPI study program. The conclusion of this research provides an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence students' decisions in choosing the Islamic Education Management study program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in the 2022/2023 academic year.
