Abstract

 This study comprehensively analyzes the concept of Nafs (self or soul) within Islamic counseling, bridging Islamic teachings with psychological principles. Utilizing a literature review methodology, it systematically collates and examines scholarly sources to explore the philosophical underpinnings and practical applications of Nafs in Islamic educational psychology. The research identifies three interpretations of Nafs: the entirety of an individual, the soul, and a container for ideas and desires. These interpretations are contextualized within the frameworks of guidance and counseling, examining their roles in shaping human behavior, intrinsic motivation, and subconscious influences. The study reveals the importance of Nafs in fostering holistic development in Islamic education, emphasizing moral, spiritual, and psychological dimensions. While acknowledging the existing literature's diverse scholarly perspectives and limitations, this research underlines the need for further empirical studies on Nafs’ practical applications in various educational settings. It concludes that an integrated approach to Islamic counseling, encompassing academic, moral, and spiritual aspects, is vital for nurturing a morally and spiritually intelligent generation, aligning with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study adopts a qualitative case study approach to explore implementing and reinforcing religious moderation attitudes among students at Lempuyangwangi Public Elementary School in Yogyakarta. Through observation, interviews, documentation review, and literature analysis, the research delves into the perceptions and experiences of teachers, the principal, and students concerning religious moderation. Utilizing the Miles and Huberman model for data analysis and employing strategies such as triangulation and member checking for reliability and validity, the study unveils a comprehensive view of religious moderation education across diverse religious practices. Results highlight the school's commitment to fostering tolerance and understanding through the principles of honesty, openness, compassion, flexibility, and respect among its multi-religious student body. The study identifies the school's unique approach to religious education, emphasizing the essential role of educational settings in promoting a harmonious society. While acknowledging limitations in scope, the research underscores the need for further investigation into the longitudinal impacts of such educational practices. It suggests a collaborative model involving educators, parents, and the community in expanding religious moderation education. This case study not only enriches the academic discourse on religious moderation but also offers valuable insights for developing inclusive educational frameworks that support Indonesia's diverse identity.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the enhancement of religious moderation by implementing Islamic religious education values at Public Senior High School 1 Bambanglipuro, Bantul. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, data were gathered using observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The research is underpinned by Thomas Lickona's theory of value education, emphasising the role of value education in shaping character and behaviour. Participants included the principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling to provide comprehensive insights. The findings highlight integrating critical Islamic values such as faith, honesty, obedience, and tolerance into the school's curriculum. These values are conveyed through classroom activities, extracurricular programs, and school culture, resulting in notable improvements in student behaviour, reduced inter-religious conflicts, and enhanced attitudes of tolerance and respect. The study underscores the effectiveness of Islamic religious education in promoting religious moderation and fostering a peaceful and pluralistic society. Implications for educational policy and practice are significant, suggesting that incorporating structured moral education can play a crucial role in achieving societal harmony. Recommendations include the nationwide adoption of similar educational programs and ongoing professional development for educators to ensure sustained positive impacts. Future research should expand to include more schools and regions to validate these findings further and explore additional factors influencing the success of religious moderation initiatives in educational settings. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menginvestigasi penguatan moderasi beragama melalui implementasi nilai-nilai pendidikan agama Islam di SMA Negeri 1 Bambanglipuro, Bantul. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan analisis dokumen. Penelitian ini didasari oleh teori pendidikan nilai Thomas Lickona, yang menekankan peran pendidikan nilai dalam membentuk karakter dan perilaku. Partisipan penelitian termasuk kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa yang dipilih secara purposive untuk memberikan wawasan yang komprehensif. Temuan penelitian menyoroti integrasi nilai-nilai Islam kunci seperti iman, kejujuran, ketaatan, dan toleransi ke dalam kurikulum sekolah. Nilai-nilai ini disampaikan melalui kegiatan kelas, program ekstrakurikuler, dan budaya sekolah, yang menghasilkan perbaikan signifikan dalam perilaku siswa, pengurangan konflik antaragama, dan peningkatan sikap toleransi dan saling menghormati. Penelitian ini menegaskan efektivitas pendidikan agama Islam dalam mempromosikan moderasi beragama dan membangun masyarakat yang damai dan pluralis. Implikasi untuk kebijakan dan praktik pendidikan sangat penting, menyarankan bahwa menggabungkan pendidikan moral yang terstruktur dapat berperan penting dalam mencapai harmoni sosial. Rekomendasi mencakup adopsi program pendidikan serupa secara nasional dan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan bagi pendidik untuk memastikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian lebih lanjut harus diperluas untuk mencakup lebih banyak sekolah dan wilayah untuk lebih memvalidasi temuan ini dan mengeksplorasi faktor tambahan yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan inisiatif moderasi beragama di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the adoption of the Zenius digital learning platform at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Ali Maksum, an Islamic boarding school in Yogyakarta, during the pandemic era pandemic. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, the research focuses on the school's strategic use of Zenius to maintain educational quality for 12th-grade students. Methodological triangulation, encompassing interviews, observations, and document analysis, enabled an in-depth evaluation of the digital learning implementation and its impacts. Key findings indicate that Zenius, with features like ZenBot, Live Classes, and a comprehensive Content Library, effectively supported the learning process, evidenced by the UTBK (University Entrance Test) scores analysis. Despite its successful application, challenges were noted in tutors' subject matter mastery and the need for more individualised instruction. The study's limitations include its focus on a single institution and reliance on observational data, which may affect generalizability. The research contributes to the discourse on educational technology, highlighting the necessity for adaptable, student-centred learning environments and continuous educator training. Future research directions include broadening the scope to multiple institutions and incorporating qualitative analyses to better understand technology's role in education during crises. This study underscores the importance of integrating innovative educational methods, particularly in challenging times, with implications for educational policy and practices. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menyelidiki adopsi platform pembelajaran digital Zenius di Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Ali Maksum, sebuah pesantren di Yogyakarta, selama masa pandemi. Menggunakan metodologi studi kasus kualitatif, penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan strategis Zenius oleh sekolah untuk mempertahankan kualitas pendidikan bagi siswa kelas 12. Triangulasi metodologis, yang mencakup wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, memungkinkan evaluasi mendalam tentang implementasi pembelajaran digital dan dampaknya. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa Zenius, dengan fitur-fitur seperti ZenBot, Kelas Live, dan Perpustakaan Konten yang komprehensif, secara efektif mendukung proses pembelajaran, seperti yang dibuktikan oleh analisis skor UTBK (Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer). Meskipun aplikasi ini berhasil, tantangan tercatat dalam penguasaan materi oleh tutor dan kebutuhan akan pengajaran yang lebih individual. Keterbatasan penelitian ini termasuk fokus pada satu institusi dan ketergantungan pada data observasional, yang dapat mempengaruhi generalisasi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada diskusi tentang teknologi pendidikan, menyoroti pentingnya lingkungan pembelajaran yang adaptif dan berpusat pada siswa serta pelatihan terus-menerus bagi pendidik. Arah penelitian di masa depan mencakup memperluas cakupan ke beberapa institusi dan menggabungkan analisis kualitatif untuk pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang peran teknologi dalam pendidikan selama krisis. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan metode pendidikan inovatif, terutama di masa-masa sulit, dengan implikasi bagi kebijakan dan praktik pendidikan.

Abstract

Abstract: This study provides an in-depth analysis of organisational communication within Islamic education, focusing on Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Salafiyah Cirebon. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research integrates triangulation methods, including interviews, observations, and document analysis, to explore the educational communication processes and challenges at MA Salafiyah. Data were collected over two months, involving purposive sampling of key participants such as the Principal, Vice Principal of Curriculum, teachers, students, and administrative staff. The findings reveal a complex network of formal and informal communication channels among school leaders, educators, students, parents, alumni, and external stakeholders, emphasising their critical role in school operations and community building. Despite effective internal communication dynamics, psychological, physical, cultural, and environmental barriers were identified. The study underscores the importance of utilising diverse communication media to mitigate these barriers, with significant implications for enhancing the quality of Islamic education. Continuous evaluation and adaptation of communication practices and active stakeholder involvement are essential for achieving educational excellence. However, the study's focus on a single institution limits the generalizability of the findings, indicating the need for broader research across various educational settings. Future studies should incorporate quantitative analyses to complement the qualitative data and examine the impact of specific interventions on educational outcomes. Abstrak: Penelitian ini memberikan analisis mendalam tentang komunikasi organisasi dalam pendidikan Islam, dengan fokus pada Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Salafiyah Cirebon. Menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, penelitian ini mengintegrasikan metode triangulasi, termasuk wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, untuk mengeksplorasi proses komunikasi pendidikan dan tantangan yang ada di MA Salafiyah. Data dikumpulkan selama dua bulan, melibatkan purposive sampling dari peserta kunci seperti Kepala Sekolah, Wakil Kepala Kurikulum, guru, siswa, dan staf administrasi. Temuan mengungkapkan jaringan komunikasi formal dan informal yang kompleks di antara pimpinan sekolah, pendidik, siswa, orang tua, alumni, dan pemangku kepentingan eksternal, yang menekankan peran kritis mereka dalam operasi sekolah dan pembangunan komunitas. Meskipun dinamika komunikasi internal efektif, terdapat hambatan seperti faktor psikologis, fisik, budaya, dan lingkungan. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya menggunakan berbagai media komunikasi untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut, dengan implikasi signifikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Islam. Evaluasi dan adaptasi berkelanjutan dari praktik komunikasi, bersama dengan keterlibatan aktif pemangku kepentingan, sangat penting untuk mencapai keunggulan pendidikan. Namun, fokus studi pada satu institusi membatasi generalisasi temuan, menunjukkan perlunya penelitian yang lebih luas di berbagai lingkungan pendidikan. Studi masa depan harus menggabungkan analisis kuantitatif untuk melengkapi data kualitatif dan meneliti dampak intervensi spesifik pada hasil pendidikan.

Abstract

Abstract: Humanism is one meaningful learning approach that engages students in learning activities. In facing the challenges of inclusive education in Indonesia, implementing Humanistic Learning Theory becomes very relevant and strategic. This research explores the implementation of a humanistic approach in inclusive classrooms at SD Muhammadiyah Wringinanom, Gresik. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The study focused on how humanistic principles, such as respect for individuality, emotional well-being, and social development, are applied in inclusive education. Results highlight the effective use of student-centered learning and the importance of positive teacher-student relationships. However, challenges remain in the lack of specialized teachers for students with disabilities. The study emphasizes the need for more teacher training and resource allocation to improve inclusive education further. Collaboration between teachers, parents, and external organizations is essential for successfully implementing humanistic principles in Islamic educational contexts. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term benefits of the humanistic approach for diverse learners. Abstrak: Humanistik merupakan salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang sangat bermakna dengan menjadikan siswa sebagai subjek yang aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Dalam menghadapi tantangan pendidikan inklusi di Indonesia, implementasi Teori Belajar Humanistik menjadi sangat relevan dan strategis. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi implementasi pendekatan humanistik di kelas inklusif SD Muhammadiyah Wringinanom, Gresik. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi kelas, dan analisis dokumen. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penerapan prinsip-prinsip humanistik, seperti penghargaan terhadap individualitas, kesejahteraan emosional, dan pengembangan sosial dalam lingkungan pendidikan inklusif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerapan pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa yang efektif dan pentingnya hubungan positif antara guru dan siswa. Namun, tantangan masih ada dalam ketiadaan guru khusus bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya pelatihan guru yang lebih intensif dan alokasi sumber daya untuk meningkatkan pendidikan inklusif. Kolaborasi antara guru, orang tua, dan organisasi eksternal sangat penting untuk keberhasilan penerapan prinsip-prinsip humanistik dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Penelitian lanjutan dianjurkan untuk mengeksplorasi manfaat jangka panjang pendekatan humanistik bagi siswa dengan kebutuhan beragam.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the implementation of character values centered on social and environmental care from an Islamic perspective at MTs Darul Huda Mayak Ponorogo. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology grounded in post-positivist philosophy, the research involved participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to gather data. The findings indicate that Islamic teachings significantly shape the school's approach to character education, emphasizing principles of social responsibility and environmental stewardship. Routine activities, spontaneous actions, role modeling, and school-wide initiatives are designed to teach these values. The study reveals a holistic integration of Islamic values into the school culture, highlighting the effectiveness of this approach in fostering social and environmental consciousness among students. While the research provides valuable insights into the role of Islamic education in character development, its focus on a single institution and qualitative nature may need to be revised in generalizability. Future research should consider diverse educational contexts and employ quantitative measures to assess the long-term impact of these programs. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi implementasi nilai-nilai karakter yang berfokus pada kepedulian sosial dan lingkungan dari perspektif Islam di MTs Darul Huda Mayak Ponorogo. Menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif yang berlandaskan filosofi post-positivis, penelitian ini melibatkan observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen untuk mengumpulkan data. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ajaran Islam secara signifikan membentuk pendekatan sekolah terhadap pendidikan karakter, dengan menekankan prinsip-prinsip tanggung jawab sosial dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Kegiatan rutin, tindakan spontan, keteladanan, dan inisiatif sekolah secara keseluruhan dirancang untuk mengajarkan nilai-nilai tersebut. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan integrasi nilai-nilai Islam secara holistik dalam budaya sekolah, yang menyoroti efektivitas pendekatan ini dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran sosial dan lingkungan di kalangan siswa. Meskipun penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga tentang peran pendidikan Islam dalam pengembangan karakter, fokusnya pada satu institusi dan sifat kualitatifnya mungkin membatasi generalisasi. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mempertimbangkan konteks pendidikan yang beragam dan menggunakan ukuran kuantitatif untuk menilai dampak jangka panjang dari program-program ini.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the impact of TikTok on the moral conduct of 12th-grade social science students at MAN Purwakarta. Using a quantitative approach, a survey was conducted among 118 students, selected through stratified random sampling, to assess the relationship between social media usage and student behavior. Data collection involved structured questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, observations, and document reviews, ensuring high ecological validity. Statistical analysis, including linear regression and hypothesis testing, revealed that TikTok use does not significantly influence student morals, accounting for only 46% of the behavioral variance. The remaining 54% is attributed to individual characteristics, family environment, and peer interactions. These findings highlight the need for a more holistic approach to moral education, emphasizing family, school, and community roles alongside responsible social media use. Limitations of this study include its cross-sectional nature and focus on a single social media platform. Future research should consider longitudinal studies and a broader scope of media platforms to understand better the complex interplay between social media and moral development. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dampak penggunaan TikTok terhadap akhlak siswa kelas XII IPS di MAN Purwakarta. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, survei dilakukan terhadap 118 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik sampling acak berstrata untuk menilai hubungan antara penggunaan media sosial dan perilaku siswa. Pengumpulan data melibatkan kuesioner terstruktur, wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan tinjauan dokumen, sehingga memastikan validitas ekologis yang tinggi. Analisis statistik, termasuk regresi linier dan uji hipotesis, menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TikTok tidak secara signifikan memengaruhi akhlak siswa, hanya menjelaskan 46% dari variasi perilaku mereka. Sisanya, yaitu 54%, dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti karakteristik individu, lingkungan keluarga, dan interaksi dengan teman sebaya. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya pendekatan yang lebih holistik dalam pendidikan akhlak, dengan menekankan peran keluarga, sekolah, dan komunitas, serta penggunaan media sosial yang bertanggung jawab. Keterbatasan penelitian ini termasuk sifatnya yang cross-sectional dan fokus pada satu platform media sosial. Penelitian di masa depan sebaiknya mempertimbangkan studi longitudinal dan cakupan platform media yang lebih luas untuk memahami interaksi kompleks antara media sosial dan perkembangan akhlak.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the role of Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan in improving religious behavior and mental well-being among elderly participants. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research delves into the methods and processes used by Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan and identifies the factors that support and hinder its effectiveness. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders and elderly participants, and documentation of spiritual activities. Findings reveal that Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan significantly enhances elderly individuals' religious behavior through educational programs on Islamic teachings, supports social cohesion, and addresses mental health issues. The study underscores the importance of such institutions in providing spiritual and social support to older people, contributing to their overall quality of life. Limitations include the study's focus on a single location and its qualitative nature, suggesting a need for broader research. Recommendations include developing policies and programs to sustain and enhance Majelis Taklim's role in supporting elderly individuals. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan dalam meningkatkan perilaku keagamaan dan kesejahteraan mental di kalangan lansia. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi metode dan proses yang diterapkan oleh Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat efektivitasnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh agama dan peserta lansia, serta dokumentasi aktivitas keagamaan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Majelis Taklim Al-Sulthan secara signifikan meningkatkan perilaku keagamaan lansia melalui program pendidikan tentang ajaran Islam, mendukung kohesi sosial, dan menangani masalah kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya lembaga semacam ini dalam memberikan dukungan spiritual dan sosial kepada lansia, yang pada gilirannya berkontribusi pada kualitas hidup mereka secara keseluruhan. Keterbatasan studi mencakup fokus pada lokasi tunggal dan sifat kualitatifnya, yang menunjukkan perlunya penelitian lebih luas. Rekomendasi termasuk pengembangan kebijakan dan program untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan peran Majelis Taklim dalam mendukung lansia.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the preparation, implementation, and effectiveness of the Beyond Center and Circle Time (BCCT) block centre learning model in enhancing the cognitive development of early childhood students at TKIT 1 Qurrota A’yun, Ponorogo. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that teacher preparation, including lesson planning and learning environment organisation, aligns with BCCT principles. Applying the block centre model effectively fostered cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, early mathematical logic, and spatial understanding. However, limitations in space and some students’ uneven progress suggest room for improvement in infrastructure and teaching methods. This study highlights the importance of teacher training and infrastructure development to optimise the BCCT model further. Future research should explore how enhancing facilities can improve learning outcomes in diverse educational settings. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan efektivitas model pembelajaran sentra balok berbasis Beyond Center and Circle Time (BCCT) dalam meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini di TKIT 1 Qurrota A’yun, Ponorogo. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persiapan guru, termasuk perencanaan pembelajaran dan pengorganisasian lingkungan belajar, sudah sesuai dengan prinsip BCCT. Penerapan model sentra balok terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif seperti pemecahan masalah, logika matematika awal, dan pemahaman spasial. Namun, keterbatasan ruang dan perkembangan siswa yang tidak merata menunjukkan adanya ruang untuk perbaikan dalam infrastruktur dan metode pengajaran. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pelatihan guru dan pengembangan infrastruktur untuk lebih mengoptimalkan model BCCT. Penelitian selanjutnya harus mengeksplorasi bagaimana peningkatan fasilitas dapat menghasilkan hasil pembelajaran yang lebih baik dalam berbagai lingkungan pendidikan.
