Abstract

This study aimed to analyze reading activities in ?Bright 2? an English textbook for junior high school students grade VIII in Indonesia by using Bloom?s revised taxonomy. A content analysis was conducted to achieve the research purpose. The findings show that the textbook has dominant reading activities on the cognitive process ?analyze? 27% and ?apply? 21% of the total 145 reading activities, respectively.  The number of higher and lower cognitive processes in this textbook is almost balanced on 49% of higher order thinking skills and 51% of lesser order thinking skills correspondingly. There is a slight difference between the number higher thinking process and lower thinking process since most reading activities are on ?analyze?, which is belong to the higher thinking process while the second most frequent reading activities are ?apply?, the lower thinking process. Meanwhile, ?apply? and ?analyze? is placed on the 3rd and 4th in the taxonomy, it means that the textbook emphasizes the middle cognitive thinking process of Bloom?s revised taxonomy, which is formed by ?apply? and ?analyze?  thinking process.

Abstract

Penyamakan kombinasi adalah penyamakan dengan menggunakan beberapa jenis bahan penyamak.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan konsentrasi terbaik dan mengetahui pengaruh penyamakan kombinasi mimosa dengan zirkonium terhadap kualitas fisik kulit ikan nila.Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kulit ikan nila yang diperoleh dari limbah fillet ikan PT. Aquafarm, Semarang. Bahan penyamak yang digunakan adalah mimosa dan zirkonium komersil. 4 Perlakuan yaitu : 20% mimosa pada setiap perlakuan dengan zirkonium 0%, 2,5%, 5%, dan 7,5%. Penelitian menggunakan desain percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisa ragam (ANOVA) dan ditunjukkan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa kombinasi bahan penyamak mimosa (tanning) dengan zirkonium (retanning) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap kualitas fisik kulit ikan nila. Konsentrasi yang memberikan efektifitas terbaik adalah pada perlakuan K1 dengan K2. Perlakuan K1 : kombinasi 20% mimosa + 2,5% zirkonium merupakan perlakuan yang memberikan efektifitas terbaik pada nilai kekuatan tarik sebesar 1242,26±1,99 N/cm2 dan suhu kerut kulit ikan nila samak sebesar 87,33±1,16 oC. Perlakuan K2 : kombinasi 20% mimosa + 5% zirkonium merupakan perlakuan yang memberikan efektifitas terbaik pada nilai kemuluran sebesar 12,8±0,28 % dan kekuatan sobek kulit ikan nila samak sebesar 290,59±6,85 N/cm. Efektifitas terbaik ini dapat dilihat dari selisih nilai antara perlakuan pada setiap parameter uji. Kedua perlakuan tersebut sudah memenuhi persyaratan standar mutu kulit ular air tawar (SNI 06-4586-1998).

Abstract

In the last decade, the development of technology has been growing rapidly. Internet—as a part of technology—became one of the very important things for many people. The usage of internet had been increasing in the last few years. It happened to people with various backgrounds and ages around the world. There is an interesting phenomenon that nowadays internet usage behavior is not only happened to adult but also happened to student at school. Some studies have found that internet usage had negative effect on student’s academic performance. But another study emphasized that positive internet usage behavior gave significant effect on academic outcome. In this study, we distinguish internet usage behavior into two categories, viz. general internet user and professional internet user. General internet user refers to internet usage behavior that focus on communication and entertaining purposes. Otherwise, professional internet user refers to productive activities in using internet like searching for information and doing some works that are relevant to assist finishing academic’s tasks. This study aims to find the influence of internet usage—general and professional—on student’s academic performance in Indonesia. Internet usage behavior measured by 2019 Student’s National Examination Survey from Center for Educational Assessment Indonesia. While, student’s academic performance represented by 2019 Indonesian National Examination Score. In addition, studies found that student’s socio-economic status (SES) had influence on their pattern of internet use. Then, this study determined SES as control variable in order to find comprehensive explanation about impact of internet usage on student’s academic outcome.

Abstract

Kualitas website (WebQual) merupakan barometer yang digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas perguruan tinggi. Website universitas perlu mendapat perilaku khusus demi menjaga konsistensi kualitasnya, karena masih banyak website-website universitas yang hanya memberikan interaksi satu arah, tanpa memperdulikan kebutuhan dari para mahasiswannya. Namun tidak sedikit universitas yang telah memberikan layanan pada website mereka dengan optimal, seshingga Universitas Terbuka sebagai universitas jarak jauh yang menggunakan media website harus dapat menjaga kualitas website untuk menjaga kepuasan dari mahasiswa. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana layanan website dapat diterima oleh para mahasiswa, maka diperlukan suatu penelitian yang mengukur kualitas layanan website yang sudah ada saat ini dari kacamata atau persepsi mahasiswa. Kerangka yang akan peneliti gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah WebQual 4.0 yang merupakan perkembangan dari ServQual (Service Quality) yang biasanya digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas layanan. Dalam hal ini peneliti menggambil sampel website https://www.pustaka.ut.ac.id/ yang merupakan website tentang Ruang Baca Virtual (RBV). Penelitian tahun pertama ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap kualitas website Universitas Terbuka tentang fasilitas layanan Ruang Baca Virtual. Untuk mencapai tujuan, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitain kuantitatif untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa sebagai pengguna website Universitas Terbuka yang memiliki fasilitas layanan Ruang Baca Virtual (RBV) menggunakan WebQual 4.0 dengan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana yang mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap layanan RBV di website Universitas Terbuka. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) terdapat satu variabel yaitu Usability Quality yang berpengaruh negatif terhadap kepuasan pengguna dan 2 variabel yaitu Information Quality dan Service Interaction Quality yang berpengaruh positif, (2) Uji Hipotesis P-Value (0,015) T-Statistik (2,438) diterima dan Variabel Information Quality Berpengaruh Positif terhadap User Satisfaction (3) Uji Hipotesis P-Value (0.000) T-Statistik (12.502) diterima dan Variabel Service Information Quality Berpengaruh Positif terhadap User Satisfaction (4) Perlu adanya pengembangan terhadap tampilan Website RBV UT karena melihat dilihat dari nilai pengaruh Usability Quality terhadap kepuasan pengguna.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the enhancement of religious moderation by implementing Islamic religious education values at Public Senior High School 1 Bambanglipuro, Bantul. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, data were gathered using observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The research is underpinned by Thomas Lickona's theory of value education, emphasising the role of value education in shaping character and behaviour. Participants included the principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling to provide comprehensive insights. The findings highlight integrating critical Islamic values such as faith, honesty, obedience, and tolerance into the school's curriculum. These values are conveyed through classroom activities, extracurricular programs, and school culture, resulting in notable improvements in student behaviour, reduced inter-religious conflicts, and enhanced attitudes of tolerance and respect. The study underscores the effectiveness of Islamic religious education in promoting religious moderation and fostering a peaceful and pluralistic society. Implications for educational policy and practice are significant, suggesting that incorporating structured moral education can play a crucial role in achieving societal harmony. Recommendations include the nationwide adoption of similar educational programs and ongoing professional development for educators to ensure sustained positive impacts. Future research should expand to include more schools and regions to validate these findings further and explore additional factors influencing the success of religious moderation initiatives in educational settings. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menginvestigasi penguatan moderasi beragama melalui implementasi nilai-nilai pendidikan agama Islam di SMA Negeri 1 Bambanglipuro, Bantul. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan analisis dokumen. Penelitian ini didasari oleh teori pendidikan nilai Thomas Lickona, yang menekankan peran pendidikan nilai dalam membentuk karakter dan perilaku. Partisipan penelitian termasuk kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa yang dipilih secara purposive untuk memberikan wawasan yang komprehensif. Temuan penelitian menyoroti integrasi nilai-nilai Islam kunci seperti iman, kejujuran, ketaatan, dan toleransi ke dalam kurikulum sekolah. Nilai-nilai ini disampaikan melalui kegiatan kelas, program ekstrakurikuler, dan budaya sekolah, yang menghasilkan perbaikan signifikan dalam perilaku siswa, pengurangan konflik antaragama, dan peningkatan sikap toleransi dan saling menghormati. Penelitian ini menegaskan efektivitas pendidikan agama Islam dalam mempromosikan moderasi beragama dan membangun masyarakat yang damai dan pluralis. Implikasi untuk kebijakan dan praktik pendidikan sangat penting, menyarankan bahwa menggabungkan pendidikan moral yang terstruktur dapat berperan penting dalam mencapai harmoni sosial. Rekomendasi mencakup adopsi program pendidikan serupa secara nasional dan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan bagi pendidik untuk memastikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian lebih lanjut harus diperluas untuk mencakup lebih banyak sekolah dan wilayah untuk lebih memvalidasi temuan ini dan mengeksplorasi faktor tambahan yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan inisiatif moderasi beragama di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

Technology nowadays has undergone continuous innovation, and its use has grown considerably in society. One form of integration of technology into learning is through natural science learning. Studies on perception of prospective elementary school teachers on the use of technology in natural science learning is still under-research. Thus, this research aims to unravel perceptions and preparations of prospective elementary school teachers for the use of technology in natural science learning and how such perceptions and preparations can influence how natural science learning will be implemented in the future. This research used a descriptive method, and data collection was carried out via a questionnaire. The subjects of research were students of the 5th semester and higher during the odd semester of the academic year 2022/2023 of PGSD Study Program at Universitas Negeri as prospective elementary school teachers. It can be concluded that the prospective elementary school teachers have a good perception of the use of technology in natural science learning. The perceptions discussed include knowledge about technology, knowledge about learning science, experience using technology in learning, the factor of the necessity of using technology in learning science, the benefits of technology in learning science, and types of technology that are appropriate for learning science.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk men-sosialisasikan capacity building pada siswa, karena era teknologi dunia pendidikan yang semakin modern harus bisa beradaptasi dengan pengaruh globalisasi. Diharapkan setiap siswa tidak hanya memiliki kecerdasan secara intelektual, melainkan harus memiliki integritas moral dan tanggung jawab sosial. Permasalahan umum yang masih terjadi tentang kondisi dunia pendidikan sangat memperhatinkan dengan adanya penyimpangan sosial, seperti kasus bullying, maupun tawuran antar sekolah. Hal ini pendidikan karakter menjadi isu strategis dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Berdasarkan kondisi yang semakin kompleks, maka peran capacity building MPLS tentang pendidikan karakter di sekolah sangat diperlukan. Kegiatan yang perlu diterapkan dalam pendidikan karakter di sekolah yakni integrasi dalam kurikulum, kegiatan ekstrakulikuler, guru teladan, dan sistem penghargaan serta konsekuensi.

Abstract

This study examines the moderating role of financial inclusion in the relationship between digital literacy, innovation, and certification in maintaining the sustainability of SMEs in Kendal Regency. A quantitative approach was used, with a sample of 210 SMEs operators in Kendal Regency who have been in operation for more than one year, possess business licenses, and hold product certifications. The findings indicate that digital literacy and certification positively influence SMEs sustainability. However, innovation did not show a positive effect on SMEs' sustainability. Furthermore, financial inclusion was found not to moderate the relationship between digital literacy and innovation concerning SMEs sustainability, but it did strengthen the relationship between certification and SMEs sustainability.

Abstract

Pelatihan simulasi transaksi perdagangan berjangka dalam pengambilan keputusan minat investasi pada Gen Z merupakan mata kuliah manajemen investasi dan portofolio. Dengan target luaran memberikan keterampilan kepada mahasiswa Universitas Selamat Sri (UNISS) dalam memperoleh pengetahuan tentang investasi perdagangan berjangka dan sebagai forum bertukar pikiran antara mahasiswa dengan dosen tentang teknik berinvestasi di perdagangan berjangka serta melakukan pengambilan keputusan yang tepat. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyampaian materi, pelatihan simulasi transaksi, dan pembagian hadiah. Hasil pelaksanaan kegaiatan adalah mahasiswa bisa memahami cara transaksi perdagangan berjangka baik secara analisi teknikal maupun fundamental dan mengambil keputusan baik beli maupun jual.

Abstract

Household waste management is an important issue that needs attention in the community, especially in Bendosari-Tegalrejo Village, Yogyakarta. The aim of this community service is to educate residents on proper waste management practices to enable them to utilize waste that has economic value. The method used for this activity involves lectures and interactive discussions, engaging local PKK members. The analysis technique applied includes observation and evaluation of participants' understanding before and after the education. Results indicate an increase in community awareness regarding the importance of waste sorting and the utilization of sellable waste. Participants expressed high enthusiasm during discussions and reached an agreement to implement waste sorting in their environment. Thus, this activity is expected to positively impact the community's awareness of waste management.
