Abstract

The advancement of information technology has driven many institutions to improve their services, including the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). In this study, the author designed and developed a web-based information system aimed at supporting digital services at the KUA of Babalan District. This system is designed to facilitate three main services: family consultation registration, marriage dispensation letter requests, and applications for certificates of unmarried status. The system was developed using the Waterfall approach, which involves a series of stages from needs identification to testing and maintenance. Technically, the system utilizes PHP as the programming language, MySQL for database management, and Tailwind CSS to create a simple and user-friendly interface. Based on the testing results, the system has proven to be effective in accelerating service processes, reducing data entry errors, and making it easier for the public to access services online. Additionally, the system provides convenience for administrators, particularly in verifying documents. Overall, this system demonstrates significant potential in supporting the digitalization of services within the KUA environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas perbandingan dua metode dalam sistem pakar yang digunakan untuk menganalisis status aktivitas gunung berapi. Gunung berapi merupakan struktur geologis yang terbentuk akibat pergerakan magma dari dalam bumi ke permukaan melalui erupsi, yang biasanya disertai pelepasan lava, gas, dan material vulkanik lainnya. Sistem pakar dalam konteks ini bertujuan mentransformasikan pengetahuan seorang ahli ke dalam bentuk algoritma komputasional yang mampu melakukan diagnosis secara otomatis. Dua metode yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini adalah Teorema Bayes dan Dempster Shafer. Tujuan utama dari studi ini adalah mengevaluasi efektivitas kedua metode dalam menentukan status gunung berapi dan mengidentifikasi metode yang paling akurat untuk diimplementasikan dalam aplikasi sistem pakar. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa metode Dempster Shafer memiliki tingkat akurasi sebesar 98%, lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode Teorema Bayes dalam konteks data gejala yang diuji. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Dempster Shafer lebih unggul dalam klasifikasi status gunung berapi pada kasus ini, serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan sistem pakar yang andal dalam mendukung pengambilan keputusan di bidang geologi dan mitigasi bencana alam

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt digital media as an effective promotional strategy. Kunyahan Medan MSME, which specializes in producing traditional Medan snacks, still relies on promotions through bazaars, hotels, and social media, without an official website that could expand its market reach digitally. This study aims to design and develop a promotional website using Laravel and MySQL, applying the Waterfall methodology. The web development stages include requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The website is built with two user roles: visitors and administrators. Key features include a product list, product details, contact page, and WhatsApp chatbot integration to facilitate direct communication with customers. Testing using the Blackbox method showed that all features functioned properly and were responsive across various devices. This study demonstrates that website development using the Waterfall method can be an effective and efficient solution to support digital promotion for MSMEs, contribute to expanding digital market reach, improve the quality of delivered information, and provide a better digital interaction experience for customers.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious problem in the field of child health in Indonesia caused by chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. To overcome this problem, an efficient and accurate early detection method is needed to accelerate intervention. This study aims to develop a web-based information system that is able to group toddler data and identify potential risks of stunting using the K-means clustering algorithm. The system was developed with a waterfall approach and uses anthropometric attributes such as weight, height, age, and gender as clustering parameters. The grouping results are displayed in the form of tables and graphic visualizations to facilitate analysis. This system is designed to be easily accessible to health workers and policy makers, so that it can support more targeted decision making in efforts to overcome stunting.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build a security system at the Medan State Polytechnic Campus based on the Internet of Things (IoT) which is equipped with motion detection and remote surveillance features. The system is designed to improve campus security by utilizing sensor technology and internet connectivity that allows real-time monitoring. In this study, motion sensors were installed in strategic areas on campus to detect suspicious activity. The data from the sensor will be sent to the server and processed to provide notifications to users through the mobile application when unusual movements are detected. The system is also equipped with remotely accessible surveillance cameras, allowing users to monitor the situation on campus anytime and anywhere. Research methods include system design, hardware and software programming, and system testing to ensure its performance and reliability. The test results showed that the system could detect movement with high accuracy and send notifications in less than a second. The remote surveillance feature also works well, giving users direct access to view live video footage. The conclusion of this study is that the designed IoT-based security system is effective in improving the security of the Polmed Campus. It is hoped that this system can be widely applied in other educational institutions to support the safety of students and staff. This research also opens up opportunities for further development in IoT-based security technologies.

Abstract

This research aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based air quality monitoring system in the Medan State Polytechnic Campus. Given the importance of air quality for the health and comfort of the academic community, the system is designed to monitor air quality parameters such as PM2.5 concentration, CO2, and temperature in real-time. The developed system uses sensors integrated with microcontrollers and wireless communication modules to transmit data to the cloud platform. The collected data will be analyzed and displayed through a mobile application, which allows users to access air quality information at various locations within the campus directly. The test results show that the system can provide accurate data with a fast response rate, as well as the ability to identify patterns of changes in air quality. Feedback from users shows that this system is very helpful in raising awareness of the importance of air quality and its impact on health. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of an IoT-based air quality monitoring system in the Medan State Polytechnic Campus can contribute positively to maintaining the health of the academic community and supporting efforts to sustain the campus environment.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based gas leak detection system aimed at improving safety in the household environment. Gas leaks, which can potentially lead to fires and explosions, require quick and efficient detection. The developed system uses gas sensors connected to microcontrollers to monitor the concentration of hazardous gases, such as methane and propane, in real-time. Data from the sensor is sent via a wireless communication module to the mobile app, which allows users to receive instant notifications if a gas leak is detected. The test results show that the system is capable of detecting leaks with high accuracy and fast response times. Field trials also indicate that the system functions effectively in a wide range of environmental conditions. Feedback from users shows that the developed mobile app is easy to use and provides clear information about the status of gas leaks. This study concludes that IoT-based gas leak detection systems can be an effective solution to improve safety in households. It is hoped that this system can be widely applied to protect the public from the risk of gas leaks.

Abstract

Biannual preventive-maintenance results (2022 & 2024) for the 150 kV Tanjung Pura line bay circuit breaker at Pangkalan Brandan Substation confirm reliable performance. Offline tests with Kyoritsu 3125 (5 kV) and ISA CBA-2000/Megger evaluated insulation resistance, contact resistance, operating time and contact synchronization against SPLN 52-1:1984, KEPDIR 0520-2.K/DIR/2014 and OEM limits (≤120 % FAT, ≤120 ms for 150 kV). Insulation far exceeded 1 MΩ/kV: 315–428 GΩ (62 600–85 600 MΩ/kV) in 2022 and 181–190 GΩ (36 200–38 000 MΩ/kV) in 2024; the drop is within safe bounds and linked to instrument variance and insulator surface condition. Contact resistance stayed low at 36.0–38.7 µΩ (<40 µΩ), although resistive loss rose from 0.13–0.139 W to 0.435–0.468 W due to higher load current. Opening time was 37.3–38.9 ms and closing time 68.2–72.6 ms, both compliant. Contact synchronization measured 0.3–0.8 ms open and 3–3.4 ms close, well below the 10 ms limit. The breaker is operationally healthy. Recommendations: periodic instrument calibration, pre-test insulator cleaning, strict adherence to SOPs and safety standards, and improved crew coordination for future consistency and safety.

Abstract

The rapid growth of electricity demand demands an efficient and reliable electricity distribution system. Conventional distribution systems in Indonesia still face various obstacles such as high power losses, low supply fulfillment, and uneven network infrastructure. Smart grids are present as an innovative solution through the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in distribution systems, which allows real-time monitoring and control of power flow. This study aims to examine the effect of smart grid implementation on the efficiency and efficiency of electricity distribution systems, as well as identify the challenges and benefits of implementing them in Indonesia. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature studies from various journals, technical reports, and related policies. The results of the study show that smart grids are able to reduce losses by 3–6% and significantly reduce SAIDI and SAIFI values. In addition, this system increases consumer participation through demand response and facilitates the integration of renewable energy. The main obstacles identified include high investment costs, limited regulations, and low public awareness of this technology. These findings are expected to be a reference in developing a more modern and sustainable electricity distribution system in Indonesia.

Abstract

The use of information technology in the world of education is very important to increase the effectiveness of academic services and the promotion of study programs. This research aims to design and build a website-based information system in the Philosophy Study Program, Panca Budi Development University. The method used is software development with an object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) approach, starting from needs analysis, design, and implementation to system testing. The results of the study show that the developed website is able to provide profile information, news, activities, galleries, and contacts online, making it easier to access information for students, lecturers, prospective students, and the general public. This website also functions as an effective digital promotional medium and supports the digitization of academic services in the study program environment. System testing shows a high level of user satisfaction with the ease of access and completeness of information.
