Abstract

This study examines the social pressures experienced by women in Kuntz Agus's film "If Mother Didn't Marry Father" using Naomi Wolf's feminist perspective. This study focuses on how the main character, Wulan, experiences various forms of pressure in her family life. The method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation and documentation, obtained from dialogues, scenes, and conflicts in the film. The results show that Wulan faces several forms of social pressure, such as the burden of domestic work, the double burden of household and economic responsibilities, imbalanced roles in the family, emotional stress, and conflict in the household. These various pressures are interrelated and show that women bear more responsibilities than men in the family. Based on Wolf's perspective, this condition occurs because of social constructions that place women in an unequal position through layered role demands. These findings also show that these social pressures not only impact individual women but also affect relationships and harmony within the family; thus, this film reflects the social reality related to gender role inequality in society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how school-aged mascot buskers in Palopo City construct, perform, and negotiate their social identities as both students and street entertainers. The research employed a qualitative approach grounded in Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with seven mascot busker children, and documentation involving school-enrolled child mascot buskers in Palopo City. The findings reveal that the social lives of these children are organized through a clear separation between front-stage and back-stage spaces. Public spaces function as the front stage, where an entertaining persona is produced through costume, bodily performance, and impression management, while school and family settings serve as the backstage, where their student identity is preserved. The mascot costume was found to serve a dual function: as a means of economic production and as a mechanism for protecting social identity. The findings further indicate that identity negotiation is consciously managed through the separation of time, space, and audiences in order to avoid stigma from the school environment. Theoretically, this study extends Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective to the context of informal child workers who remain actively engaged in formal education, demonstrating that visual symbols function not only to construct impressions but also to safeguard the continuity of social identity. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of school support systems and public space policies that are more responsive to children from informal working families.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Integrated Dynamic Archiving Information System (SRIKANDI) application policy in managing correspondence at the Sidenreng Rappang Regency Transportation Agency and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The main problems encountered include limited human resource competency in operating the application and internet network constraints that impact the smoothness of digital administrative management. This study used a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with informants consisting of agency heads, operators, and user employees selected purposively. Data were analyzed using Nvivo software through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, utilizing Merilee S. Grindle's policy implementation theory approach, which encompasses the content of policy and the context of implementation. The results indicate that SRIKANDI implementation has been successful in improving the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of correspondence management, but is not yet optimal due to limited human resources and network infrastructure. Leadership support, the existence of SOPs, and the role of operators are the main supporting factors, while limited technical capabilities and network are inhibiting factors. This study recommends improving employee training, strengthening network infrastructure, and conducting ongoing evaluations to support the optimization of digital-based policy implementation in local government.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of management functions in public service delivery at Pasar Sentral Baranti, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The focus of the study includes three main functions: organizing, actuating, and controlling. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, involving the head of the market management unit, market officers, traders, and visitors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of management functions has not been optimal. The organizing function is characterized by unclear task distribution, the actuating function is not consistently implemented due to low work discipline, and the controlling function remains weak due to irregular supervision. In addition, sociocultural factors, such as informal relationships between officers and traders, influence the consistency of rule enforcement. This study concludes that the effectiveness of public service delivery is determined not only by formal structures but also by the organization’s ability to manage social dynamics adaptively.

Abstract

The veil is a form of civilization that was known hundreds of years before the arrival of Islam. The veil as a head covering is only known in Indonesia. Initially worn by teenage girls to reject traditional clothing (kebaya). In Islam, Allah commands every Muslim woman to cover her private parts by holding out her veil. Psychologically, the veil is a symbol of a set of values that soothe the soul. It turns out that the hijab phenomenon is understood differently by students. Some of them are of the opinion that what is widely worn is not the hijab but the headscarf which only covers the private parts. The use of headscarves among students is not only a step towards following existing rules on campus but also because of an obligation as Muslims. However, wearing a headscarf is said to be more practical in Indonesia. Innovation in the hijab is not only in terms of material, shape and method or style of wearing it, but also many students wear the hijab currently, namely the Paris hijab and there are also those who wear long hijabs up to the knees with various kinds of basic materials. There are several forms of headscarves used by students, namely; rectangular veil that has a square shape. Likewise with the model or style of wearing it, such as having one side of the hijab pinned to the shoulder and the other one let fall down. The findings of this research illustrate that today's headscarf styles are not only a matter of religion but are also cultural because headscarves have been created so that the styles of wearing them are increasingly diverse. Wearing a headscarf is a step towards appearance or style in clothing.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia, affecting children’s physical growth and cognitive development due to chronic malnutrition. This study aims to analyze partnership models in the implementation of the DASHAT (Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting) program as a public service innovation to improve household food security. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining empirical studies on DASHAT implementation across several regions in Indonesia, analyzed through the perspectives of New Public Governance (NPG) and New Public Service (NPS). The findings indicate that the DASHAT program effectively enhances nutritional knowledge, improves dietary behavior, and strengthens community skills in preparing nutritious meals based on local resources. Collaborative governance involving government institutions, health cadres, and communities plays a crucial role in ensuring sustainable nutrition interventions and effective information dissemination. Furthermore, the program contributes to increased family participation in fulfilling children's nutritional needs and promotes household food resilience. However, challenges persist, including limited resources, uneven mentoring quality, and suboptimal cross-sector coordination. Therefore, strengthening collaborative governance, improving human resource capacity, and ensuring consistent program implementation are essential to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of DASHAT in reducing stunting rates.

Abstract

This study examines the role of civil society in responding to the surge in the number of orphans during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although child mortality during the pandemic tended to be low, children were affected by a “hidden pandemic” in which they became orphans due to the loss of parents or primary caregivers. The ASA Anak Indonesia platform is a civil society initiative established by Zakat Management Organizations (LAZ) under the coordination of the Zakat Forum (FOZ) to respond to this issue. This research employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The findings are analyzed using social capital theory, which encompasses the processes of bonding, bridging, and linking. The results show that the program was able to realize these three processes through internal consolidation within each institution, coordination among LAZs, and collaboration with the government. This study also provides a basis for understanding that the social capital formed can become a latent asset for responding to strategic issues in the future. Furthermore, the data on orphans collected through this platform faces future challenges regarding how it can be synergized with relevant government agencies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of environmental education for children in the Mata novel series by Okky Madasari using Greg Garrard’s ecocritical perspective integrated with David W. Orr’s environmental education theory. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a library study technique. The data consist of phrases, clauses, sentences, and narrative quotations that reflect ecological elements, environmental pollution, ecological crises, and human–nature relationships. The results show that the Mata series represents nature as a living and interconnected ecological system through the concepts of dwelling, animals, and pastoral. The novels also depict environmental pollution, ecological crises, and natural resource exploitation as consequences of anthropocentric human behavior. Furthermore, the narratives contain strong social and ethical critiques of human dominance over nature, along with forms of resistance that emphasize ecological responsibility. In addition, the series functions as an effective medium for children’s environmental education by fostering awareness, knowledge, attitudes, skills, and participation. Therefore, the Mata novel series serves not only as children’s literature but also as an educational tool to promote ecological awareness.
