Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the quality of Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) services, consisting of teacher competence and the learning environment, on the Islamic character of early childhood, with parental trust as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was used. The study subjects were 110 parents of early childhood children who participated in TPQ activities in the coastal area of Wiradesa District, Pekalongan Regency. The results showed that teacher competence had the most dominant influence on children's Islamic character, followed by the learning environment, which also had a significant influence. Parental trust did not have a direct effect on children's Islamic character, but had a significant moderating role. Parental trust was shown to strengthen the influence of the learning environment on Islamic character, but actually weakened the influence of teacher competence in the child's education process. This study confirms that the quality of TPQ plays an important role in the formation of children's Islamic character in coastal areas, but its effectiveness is influenced by the active involvement of parents. Therefore, synergy between TPQ and families is the main key in optimizing Islamic character education for early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of TikTok social media in cultural preservation and its implications for fostering students’ patriotism character in vocational high schools in Karanganyar. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore students’ perceptions and experiences in depth. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers and students actively using TikTok in cultural learning activities. The findings indicate that TikTok utilization enhances students’ awareness of cultural preservation through creative, innovative, and contextual digital content. Initially, students perceived TikTok as a platform for entertainment and academic purposes; however, through the learning process, this perception gradually shifted toward viewing it as an effective educational medium that supports the dissemination of cultural values. The development of patriotism character occurs through stages of introduction, understanding, and implementation in daily life. Furthermore, students’ active involvement in creating cultural content increases creativity, strengthens their sense of pride in local culture, and encourages cultural preservation. Therefore, TikTok can serve as a relevant and effective learning medium to support cultural preservation and strengthen national character in the digital era.

Abstract

The implementation of Public Service Malls (MPP) in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth in number and has succeeded in improving public perceptions of service comfort. However, behind this improvement in perceived satisfaction, the presence of MPPs continues to face fundamental challenges in the form of fragmentation and sectoral ego. This article aims to analyze the policy design of MPPs in order to understand why substantive service integration has not yet been achieved. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach. The analysis is conducted using the policy design elements framework of Thomas Birkland (2015) and the social construction theory of Anne Schneider and Helen Ingram (1993). The findings reveal fundamental weaknesses in the policy design of MPPs. First, within the causal model, the policy is trapped in the oversimplified assumption that the unification of physical locations (co-location) will automatically result in system integration. Second, there is an imbalance in the treatment of policy targets; the public as beneficiaries (advantaged) are facilitated with infrastructure that enhances satisfaction, while the bureaucracy as contenders receives only symbolic burdens without coercive mechanisms to integrate their business processes. Third, the implementation structure demonstrates an unclear hierarchy between managers and service providers, in which DPMPTSP, as the MPP manager, lacks enforcement power over vertical agencies and other technical departments. This study concludes that MPPs currently exhibit pseudo-integration, improving only the physical appearance (front office) while remaining fragmented in business processes (back office).

Abstract

Climate change is a global phenomenon that is spreading its impacts unevenly across community groups. This study aims to describe the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities and identify factors that shape their vulnerability. The method used is descriptive-analytical through a literature review and synthesis of findings from various related studies. The analysis focuses on three dimensions of vulnerability such as exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. The results of the study indicate that groups such as farmers, fishermen, and livestock breeders experience direct impacts in the form of decreased productivity due to changing climate patterns and extreme weather. Meanwhile, indigenous communities face threats to their livelihood systems and cultural identity due to ecosystem degradation. Poor communities, women, and children exhibit multiple vulnerabilities influenced by limited access to resources, basic services, and social protection. In general, vulnerability is shaped by high dependence on natural resources, economic constraints, and weak institutional support. From a climate justice perspective, inequality in the distribution of impacts and adaptive capacity is found, with vulnerable communities bearing a greater burden. Therefore, a more inclusive, contextual, and equitable policy approach is needed, taking into account the specific characteristics and needs of each community group in facing climate change.

Abstract

The waste problem in rural areas is a serious challenge due to the increasing volume of waste and the limitations of the management system. Population growth is always followed by an increase in waste volume, thus demanding changes in waste management, especially from the old paradigm (collect, transport, dispose) to the new paradigm with the 3R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle). This study aims to analyze the implementation of community participation-based waste management policies in Teteaji Village, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This study is based on Merilee S. Grindle's policy implementation theory, namely Content of Policy and Context of Implementation, using a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Nvivo 12 Plus software for coding, thematic analysis, and data visualization. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of policies in waste management has not been running optimally, characterized by the absence of village regulations as an operational basis, limited facilities and infrastructure, and weak coordination between actors. Community participation is quite good, but is still incidental and not systematically organized. Therefore, the success of policy implementation is influenced by the interaction between the policy content and the implementation context, so that strengthening of regulations, facilities and infrastructure, and an integrated management system is required to realize sustainable waste management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social and cultural values embedded in the menyilaq tradition in Jerowaru Village, East Lombok Regency. The menyilaq tradition is a practice of direct invitation that is still preserved as part of local wisdom and serves as a social system that strengthens community bonds. This study employs a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods. Data collection was conducted through non-participant observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving subjects from the ranks of pemesilaq, epen gawe, and the community being invited, as well as informants comprising traditional leaders and Sasak cultural figures. The research findings indicate that the menyilaq tradition embodies social and cultural values such as responsibility, sukerede, sangkep, tate krame, serembat angen, besiru, and beriuk. This tradition also serves as an effective medium for interaction and socialization in maintaining community harmony and solidarity. Amidst the tide of modernization, the community of Jerowaru Village continues to uphold the tradition of menyilaq as a form of cultural resistance and an effort to preserve noble values. Thus, the tradition of menyilaq not only serves as a social ritual but also as a foundation for building a harmonious and sustainable social structure amidst the disruption of values caused by modernity. Kata Kunci: Menyilaq, Nilai Sosial, Nilai Budaya, Desa Jerowaru.

Abstract

Current students face academic pressure, social challenges, and academic problems in higher education due to the presence of artificial intelligence technology. This study aims to determine the significance of differences in academic resilience levels between students living away from their families and students living with their families. A quantitative comparative design approach was used in this study, involving 168 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through an academic resilience scale and then analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test to observe differences in academic resilience between students living away from their families and students living with their families. The results showed no significant difference in academic resilience between students living away from their families and students living with their families (p = 0.359, p > 0.05). Overall, these findings confirm that both students living away from their families and students living with their families are able to develop academic resilience through different adjustment mechanisms but with relatively equal levels of ability. The practical implications of this research are expected to assist educational institutions in designing policies and services to optimize academic resilience capabilities for all students in an inclusive and accessible manner.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of social media marketing activities on consumers’ purchase intentions toward theme parks, with social commerce serving as a mediating variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using an explanatory survey method. Data collection was conducted by distributing an online questionnaire to 240 respondents who actively use social media and have viewed content related to theme parks such as Dufan, Trans Studio Group, and Jatim Park Group. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS. The findings revealed that social media marketing activities exert a positive and significant influence on purchase intention as well as social commerce. Social commerce was also found to have a positive effect on purchase intention and to mediate the relationship between social media marketing activities and purchase intention. These findings demonstrate that interactive social media marketing strategies supported by social commerce activities can increase consumer interest in purchasing tickets or visiting theme parks. Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model is used as the theoretical foundation in this study.

Abstract

This study examines Generation Z audience perceptions of collaborative content between local fashion brand Jiniso and artist Aqeela Calista on the TikTok account @jiniso.entertainment. Brand-influencer collaboration on TikTok has become a dominant marketing strategy; however, understanding of how audiences actively construct meaning toward such content remains limited in the Indonesian digital marketing communication context. This study employs Stuart Hall's reception analysis as the primary analytical framework, with data gathered through netnography and in-depth interviews with five informants. Audience meaning-making was mapped across three decoding positions: dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional. Findings reveal that the majority of audiences occupy the dominant-hegemonic decoding position (three of five informants), followed by the negotiated position (two informants), with no oppositional position identified. Message acceptance is shaped by three primary factors: (1) Aqeela's credibility as an endorser perceived as natural and relevant to the Gen Z target audience; (2) successful cultural meaning transfer from Aqeela to the Jiniso brand; and (3) a soft-selling strategy packaged as entertainment content. The content's impact generally halts at the awareness and interest stages, falling short of purchase conversion.
