Abstract

This study investigates how the social environment and educational qualification influences the effectiveness of counsellors. The study adopted a correlational design. The population of the study comprised all 270 school practicing counsellors from 472 public schools in Delta State, Nigeria.  All the 270 school practicing counsellors in Delta State were used as sample, because the size was manageable. A questionnaire was the tool utilized in this investigation. Two research questions and two hypotheses were used for the study. Drawing from empirical studies, it explores factors such as institutional support, community attitudes, resource availability, and socio-cultural dynamics. While previous literature often emphasizes the influence of environmental factors on counselling outcomes, this research critically evaluates whether such influence is statistically significant. Using empirical data, the study finds that counsellors’ effectiveness may be more strongly linked to personal competencies and institutional frameworks than to broader social environmental factors. The findings reveal a significant relationship between social environment and counsellors’ effectiveness. It also revealed that the effectiveness of counselors and their level of education are not significantly correlated. The findings suggest that the social environment plays a pivotal role in shaping counsellors’ performance, motivation, and impact. Some recommendations were made. Keywords: Counselor's Effectiveness, Level Of Education, Social Environment

Abstract

The implementation of differentiated learning in the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools highlights efforts to meet the diverse learning needs of students. The Merdeka Curriculum prioritizes flexibility in teaching with the aim of empowering schools to adapt learning strategies to the individual characteristics of each student. This article reviews the basic concepts of differentiated learning, highlighting the importance of adapting the curriculum to accommodate students' learning styles, comprehension speeds, and interests. The method used in the research is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method by processing articles that are in accordance with the discussion. According to the results of systematic reviews of various published studies, it is possible that materials, processes, products, and learning environments can change with differentiated learning. This learning can boost students' enthusiasm to develop their own potential and during learning activities. Through literature analysis, this approach has been shown to increase students' active participation, learning motivation, and overall academic achievement. However, implementation challenges and training needs for educators are also discussed to ensure the effectiveness of differentiated learning in the context of the Independent Curriculum in Primary Schools. Further research is recommended to measure the long-term impact of this approach on student development and educational equity in Indonesia. Keywords:differentiated learning, independent curriculum, application, elementary.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how students' critical thinking skills through multiliteracy learning model. The approach used in this research is quantitative by using quasi-experimental method and the design used is non equivalent pre-test pos-test control group design. The population in this study was grade V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students totaling 76 students. The sample used was 53 students divided into experimental classes totaling 33 students and control classes totaling 20 students. Data collection techniques used were observation of the application of multiliteracy learning models and tests used to measure students' critical thinking skills. The test used in the form of a description test totaling 7 questions with the criteria for questions from Bloom's taxonomy C4 to C6. The instruments in this study have been validated and declared valid. The analysis used is quantitative analysis. The data processed was obtained using normality test and hypothesis testing to determine the effect of multiliteracy learning model on students' critical thinking skills using SPSS 22 for windows. From the results of the study, it is known that the multiliteracy learning model in grade V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah based on the student's critical thinking skills test obtained an experimental pre-test mean of 63.03 and for the control pre-test mean of 61.60. While the mean result of the experimental post-test was 79.06 and for the control post-test mean was 73.00. This shows an increase in critical thinking skills of fifth grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. There is a significant effect of multiliteracy learning model on critical thinking skills of grade V students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah based on hypothesis testing obtained Sig value. 0.022 <0.05 which means Ha is accepted, namely there is an effect of multiliteracy learning model on critical thinking skills of grade V students of Madrasah IbtidaiyahKeywords: Multiliteracy Learning Model, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

The low motivation and learning outcomes of students in learning science are one of the main challenges in efforts to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on student motivation and learning outcomes in science subjects. The method used in this research is an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all students from one of the elementary schools in Pamulihan District, with a sample consisting of 41 students, namely 18 female students and 23 male students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, pretest-posttest, observation, and interviews. The results showed that the R-squared value for student learning motivation in the experimental class was 0.041 or 4.1%, with a sig value of 0.393, while in the control class it was 0.313 or 31% with a sig 0.008. For learning outcomes, the R square value in the experimental class was 0.347 or 34.7%, with a sig. of 0.006, while the control class showed an R square value of 0.427 or 42.7%. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that there was an influence of animated videos on students' motivation to learn science by 4.1% and on learning outcomes by 34.7%. Thus, the use of animated video media has an influence on increasing student motivation and learning outcomes, although the contribution is not greater than conventional learning in the context of this study. Keywords:Animated Videos, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

An exploration of the application of child-friendly school management in improving children's welfare at RA Nurul Falah, using a qualitative narrative method. This research prioritizes a humanist perspective by collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation. A child-friendly school is a concept that emphasizes a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment that supports children's holistic development, both physically, emotionally, and socially. At RA Nurul Falah, inclusive and participatory management is implemented, involving parents, teachers, and the community in the decision-making process. The results of the study show that the improvement of children's welfare can be seen from several aspects, including increased self-confidence, discipline, and children's involvement in various stimulating learning activities. Narratives from parents and teachers revealed significant changes in children's behavior, such as being more open and actively participating in group activities. This is supported by a curriculum that prioritizes the values of character education and child-centered teaching. In addition, healthy environmental factors and decent infrastructure also contribute to creating a conducive learning atmosphere. However, challenges remain, such as the need for ongoing training for educators and limited resources. These findings recommend the need for collaboration from all relevant parties to create sustainable policies and efforts to develop teacher capacity so that child-friendly education can be implemented optimally. In conclusion, the management of child-friendly schools at RA Nurul Falah not only has a positive impact on children's welfare, but also builds a foundation for better child development in the futureKeywords:Child-Friendly, School management, Children’s Welfare
