Abstract

This activity aims to improve teachers’understanding SD Inpres Galangan Kapal IV on HOTS basedquestions and implement them in making questions. Theactivities in this training are 1) understanding the importanceof HOTS-based questions, 2) exploring the correct techniquesin making HOTS-based questions, and 3) practicing makingHOTS-based questions. The results of this training showedthat 1) the training was conducted at SD InpresGalanganKapalIV Tallo district of Makassar; 2) Observating the orientation tothe problems faced by the teachers regarding making HOTSquestions; 3) Lecture session was conducted to introduce somematerials about the essentials and importance of HOTSquestions; 4) Demonstration in giving direct practice toparticipants in making HOTS questions. The result is that theprogram is carried out smoothly as planned, participants showserious interest and attention to the training, teaching andapplication materials for making HOTS-based questions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to solve the problemfaced by English teachers in Makassar in improving theirknowledge and skill in teaching through communicativegrammar teaching training. This training involves Englishteachers in Makassar private junior high schools. They aretrained by experts from university and language centre who arealso the experienced trainers. This training held in 16 meetingsat British Course Makassar. The result of this training showsthat 1) the English teachers able to implement the TeachingGrammar Communicatively learning model, 2) the learningmodule of Teaching Grammar Communicatively is feasible forother junior high schools, 3) the participation level of theteachers in this training is high viewed from their attendanceand being active in doing their tasks.

Abstract

One of characteristics of puberty in teenage girls ismenarche (or first menstruation). This is not a simple stage. Itrequires psychological understanding and preparation indealing with it through providing psychoeducation. Thispsychoeducation activity was designed systematically andmeasurably to produce a module on puberty education in earlyadolescents which was equipped with a test of participants'understanding on puberty and menstruation before and afterjoining the psychoeducation. The number of participants whoparticipated in this activity was 75 students. The methods usedare lectures, discussions, audiovisuals and games. The resultsshowed that the post-test score proved to be greater than thepre-test score. It can be concluded that the treatment in theform of psychoeducation namely knowledge of puberty andreadiness for menarche can increase adolescents' readiness infacing menarche.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide additionalknowledge for women in ORW 5 of Batua village in Manggalasub-district about productive activities which can be their newskill in making wedding gifts (erang-erang) that can bedeveloped in their neighbourhood. The method used in thisworkshop were introduction to productive businesses, trainingand practice. The workshop took place in ORW 5 Batua,Manggala sub-district of Makassar. Activities started withsocialization, giving material, practice and making a follow-upplan. Participants enthusiastically participated in the activitieswith the guidance of the PKM team from the lecturers andstudents of PKK FT UNM, the participants managed to makebeautiful wedding gifts and established the wedding giftsbusiness manager in the neighbourhood of participants.

Abstract

This devotion was carried out at SMP Negeri 1Benteng Kep. Selayar and attended by teachers in Benteng andSelayar Islands Senior High School and Senior High School inorder to improve understanding, skills, and innovation inpreparing evaluation questions using the Wondershare QuizCreator program. In this Community Partnership programtraining activities have been conducted to create interactiveICT-based questions. The results obtained from these programactivities are responses of all participants who have been ableto compile interactive questions that are innovative and variedindependently so that a varied and enjoyable evaluationactivity will be formed. Another advantage is that the teachercan make interactive computer-based questions.

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to provide training aboutpeer counsellors and to form a school peer counsellorcommunity. The activity was carried out in the form oftraining with lecture methods, counselling practices, andsimulations. This training involved 36 representative studentsfrom each class. The material provided starts from the basicconcept of peer counsellors, problems and how to handle themand basic counselling techniques followed by counsellingpractice. The results of this activity showed that the peercounsellor training activities in SMK Telkom Makassar havebeen carried out well with the results of the evaluation scorewas in a very good category, meaning that students understandwell the presented materials such as Basic concepts of PeerCounsellors that discuss the meaning, role, objectives,principles of peer counsellors as well as the requirements to bepeer counsellors and issues and prevention and finally basiccounselling techniques, which aims to equip participants toknow the basic types of counselling techniques and can beapplied later which ends the counselling practice. Then a peercounsellor has been established in SMK Telkom Makassarwhere the members are the representatives of grade X gradeXI. The established peer counsellors will become thecounsellor agents who help their counselling teachers run theguidance and counselling services at school.

Abstract

The success of the assessment process is highlydependent on the teacher, but the reality in the field shows thatteachers still have difficulties in preparing assessment plans,conducting assessments, processing assessments and utilizingassessment results. To date, most elementary school teachersin Patimpeng District, Bone Regency, especially teachers whoteach in Paccing and Massila Villages tend to still measure thestudents' ability using the Lower Order Thinking Skillsand the questions that are made are not contextual. This PKMaimed to provide training in developing skills of assessmentinstructional items and its assessment rubric for elementaryteacher groups in Bone Regency. The program usedparticipatory, group and individual approaches. The methodcovered the lecture, discussion/Forum Group Discussion andproject. The partner groups consisted of 2 groups. Theseactivities included: 1) Training and direct practice to formulateassessment indicators, 2) Determine the appropriate assessmenttechniques in accordance with the basic competenciestaught, 3) Develop items of High-Level Thinking assessmentinstruments and their assessment rubrics. The results of thisactivity were: 1) The elementary teacher group was able toformulate assessment indicators, 2) The teachers were able toprocess and describe the results of the assessment of attitudes,knowledge and skills, 3) The teachers developed items ofHigh-Level Thinking assessment instruments as well as theassessment rubrics.

Abstract

The problem faced by partners was the lack of deepunderstanding of the principal, special education teacher,regular teachers, and parents about the duties andresponsibilities of special education teachers. As a result ofthis lack of knowledge, the special education teaching teacherswere not in accordance with their actual duties andresponsibilities. Therefore, a socialization program was neededin order to enhance the understanding of principals, regularteachers, special education teachers, and parents of childrenwith special needs. The socialization was attended by 39participants. The results of this program showed an increase inunderstanding of the duties and responsibilities of specialeducation teachers at SD Inpres Maccini Baru, Makassar.

Abstract

Disability students are students who experiencephysical and/or mental impairment. However, these studentshave a number of potential that their parents, siblings,environment, school, community, nation and state should beproud of. Some of the potentials are the ability to read theQur'an, play musical instruments, dance, acting, and toresound the adhan beautifully. This fact is shown by an autisticchild in Kendal, Central Java, who is capable of resoundingbeautiful adhan. In addition, one of the students with totalblind in Special Needs Education Department of UNM,showed extraordinary talent in playing electronic keyboardswhile singing (musical talent). These facts interest the team totrain disabled students who have the potential of resoundingadhan so they are able to become classy muezzin.

Abstract

Adversity Quotient (AQ) is size or standard used todetermine the level of someone’s ability in cope with andsurvive against life’s problems and challenges. The ability toface all the difficulties is a process to build a personaldevelopment and potency, as well as to achieve goals.Adversity Quotient is intelligence possessed someone inovercoming difficulties and able to survive. AdversityQuotient is intelligence that arises because of pressure,difficulty and suffering. Stoltz argued that there are threeforms that can be translated from the Adversity Quotient as ameasurement of adversity intelligence, which is a conceptualframework in conducting the formulation to understand andimprove success. It is a measure for knowing individualsresponse patterns against difficulties and challenges, and theseries of skills that can be used in order to achieve a betterresponse in dealing with problems.
