Abstract

Individuals or groups may satisfy their living requirements in a variety of ways. We refer to these techniques as survival tactics. One demographic with a weak economy is the farm laborers in Tigabinanga Village, Tigabinanga District, Karo Regency. Despite their shortcomings or restrictions, women agricultural workers strive to satisfy their fundamental necessities by working to make a livelihood in order to improve the economy. Despite being employed as agricultural laborers, these ladies are nevertheless capable of doing their jobs. In order to support the welfare of families, this research attempts to learn more about the dual function that female agricultural workers play. Literature reviews, observations, interviews, and documentation are the methods utilized to gather data. To draw conclusions, field data are then subjected to qualitative analysis. The study's findings also demonstrate how farm workers fulfill their dual roles by continuing to perform reproductive duties, such as maintaining Human Resources (HR) and performing household chores like cooking, fetching water, searching for firewood, shopping, ensuring family health and nutrition, and raising and educating children. Work that creates items and services for sale and consumption is referred to as productive roles (farmers, fishers, consultants, services, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship). Political involvement and service projects are related to social roles. Women often do the majority of volunteer community service projects.

Abstract

This research analyzes the role of stakeholders in the land acquisition process for the construction of an underpass on Jalan Gatot Subroto Medan. The construction of this underpass infrastructure aims to reduce congestion and improve accessibility and aesthetics of the city of Medan, especially at the Manhattan Mall intersection in Medan. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation from various related parties, including the government, land owners, contractors, supervisory consultants and local communities. The research results concluded that there were 18 stakeholders divided into 4 (four) quadrants, namely: subject; key players; other supporters and followers. The resulting conclusion is in the form of a division of roles based on the interest and strength quadrants from Reed's (2009) theory. The success of land acquisition for the construction of the Gatot Subroto Medan underpass is determined by the ability of stakeholders to work together

Abstract

Prostitution is a complex and intractable social problem in many countries, including Indonesia. The Blok M area, located in South Jakarta, has long been known as the center of prostitution activities. The method used in this research is a qualitative method using interview techniques, observation and literature study. The result of this research is that the police encourage active participation of the community in reporting prostitution activities and providing useful information for investigation. In addition, the police try to raise public awareness about the negative impact of prostitution and provide rehabilitation and social assistance to victims of prostitution who want to get out of the cycle of violence and exploitation. Despite the police's efforts, the problem of prostitution in the Blok M area cannot be fully addressed overnight. Prostitution involves a wider range of social, economic and cultural factors. Therefore, cooperation between the police, government, and the community must be continuously improved to achieve sustainable results in eradicating prostitution and protecting the community from its negative impacts. By analyzing the police's efforts in controlling prostitution venues in the Blok M area, this research is expected to provide a better understanding of the challenges and strategies applied in combating the problem of prostitution and provide input for more effective policies and measures in addressing this complex social problem.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of alcohol consumption and legal-illegal distribution of alcohol on the health and social aspects of society. This research uses observation data, case studies and interviews. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach which uses empirical research. By viewing Merton's concept of anomie from the perspective of alcohol consumption, we can see how individuals and society respond to cultural pressures, social norms, and laws related to alcohol, as well as their impact on overall health and social dynamics. The policy implications found from this research can provide a basis for developing more effective intervention strategies in improving public health and welfare related to alcohol consumption and legal-illegal distribution. It is hoped that this research will contribute to further understanding of the complex dynamics between alcohol consumption, regulation, and its impact on health and society.

Abstract

In today's rapidly evolving digital era, technology and social media have become integral parts of daily life. From connecting people worldwide to shaping how we communicate, work, and play, these advancements have profoundly transformed social, cultural, and economic dynamics. This article explores the significant role of technology and social media in the modern world and examines their influence on how we live, interact, and share information. While social media serves as an effective two-way communication tool, its impact can vary depending on how it is used. The concept of communication and information-sharing via computer networks, which predates modern social media, marked the foundation for what we now recognize as social media platforms. As technology and social media continue to advance, they have given rise to new societal phenomena, including divorces stemming from relationships formed through social media interactions. Remarkably, marriage ceremonies can now be conducted via video calls, and divorces can be finalized through video conferences. The ongoing development of technology has significantly broadened societal knowledge. The emergence of diverse social media platforms has further enabled people to expand their social networks and forge new friendships.
