Abstract

Surabaya's Mangrove Botanical Garden, with an area of 25 hectares, offers views of the mangrove forest, jogging trails, a monitoring tower, boat docks and picnic areas. Despite its great tourism potential, visitor numbers are still relatively low and there are deficiencies in facilities and services. Data shows the destruction of mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia and the need for more attention to the management and promotion of this destination. Data shows that Indonesia's mangrove ecosystems, which cover 4.25 million hectares, are significantly damaged, with 48% moderately damaged and 23% severely damaged. Several Google Reviews cite deficiencies in infrastructure and management that affect visitor satisfaction. This study involved 25 respondents from pentahelix stakeholders (government, academia, business, community, media) and used qualitative descriptive analysis to identify ecotourism development patterns and strategies. This study aims to identify efforts to develop the Mangrove Botanical Garden ecotourism area through a pentahelix perspective, which involves the government, academics, business people, the community, and the media. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis. This analysis includes organising, simplifying and synthesising data to identify patterns and main themes, as well as formulating working hypotheses. Overall, the Gunung Anyar Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden shows positive developments in environmental conservation efforts and ecotourism development. The botanical garden manager has planned various strategic steps to improve the attractiveness and quality of services, which are expected to have a positive impact on both visitors and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Inappropriate land use can result in changes in environmental conditions that have negative impacts on humans. Land use that is not in accordance with its capabilities can cause various disasters, such as excessive erosion, landslides, floods, droughts, and an increase in the area of critical land. The Riam Kanan sub-watershed is one of the sub-watersheds in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan whose condition requires conservation because this area has varying slopes, so if the land is not managed properly, it can cause flooding and other natural disasters. Based on this, it is necessary to carry out research related to the Land Use Capability Classification. The aim of this research is to analyze inhibiting or limiting factors and to formulate land use capability classes. The highest slope percentage of 15 - 25% is found in Land Unit 3 (three) Block A, Land Unit 4 (four) Block B and Land Unit 2 (two) in Block D. The lowest slope percentage of 3-8% is found in Unit Land 1 (one) Block A, Land Unit 1 (one) Block B and Land Unit 3 (three) in Block C. Other Land Units have a slope percentage of 8-15%. Land Use Capability Classes (KPL) obtained from the analysis results are 3 (three) Land Use Capability Classes (KPL), namely 1). KPL II with Soil Depth Limiting Factor "s". 2). KPL III with limiting factors for slope, soil depth and erosion. 3). KPL IV with Erosion Limiting Factor "e".

Abstract

The Permanent Production Forest (HP) area in the Tabalong Regency area has an area of ± 44,759 ha which is a forest area in the Tabalong KPH management area. The administrative designation of this Forest Area is in Solan Village, Jaro District. In this area there are problems related to conflicts over land use and claims in locations whose status is still production forest areas. The Solan Village area which is within the Permanent Production Forest (HP) area covers an area of 4,161.2731 ha. In some areas, the Solan Village community uses the area for housing, public facilities and plantations. The area of Solan Village which is outside the forest area is 87,377 ha. The results of the questionnaire showed that 50% of respondents were not aware of the government's determination of forest area status and the boundaries of forest areas in their area. The community considers that the land belongs to them because it has been owned for generations. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out mapping regarding area control conflicts and re-arrangement of forest area boundaries in the Tabalong KPH area which aims to inventory land control problems and community rights to forest areas as well as safeguard and protect designated forest areas. Socialization and the presence of officers are important components to bring awareness and understanding to the community about forests and forest areas, so that conflicts over control of forest areas can be eliminated.

Abstract

The economic value of trees is important because trees produce wood that has a selling value with a market price approach. This study aims to compare the economic value of trees between the ISTEM and Thyer methods on the UKSW Diponegoro campus. These methods show their interdependence on the economic aspect, which is found in the two estimation methods and the aesthetic aspect found in the ISTEM method. The benefits of this research provide information about the economic value of trees with ISTEM and Thyer estimation models on landscape trees. The analysis used to determine the comparison of the economic value of trees using the ISTEM and Thyer methods. The results showed an assessment of the economic value of UKSW Diponegoro campus trees, namely ISTEM and Thyer. The highest economic value on Mahogany trees, the ISTEM method produces Rp. 206,412,236.13, while the Thyer method provides a lower value of Rp. 199,788,992.59 found significant variations in economic value between trees. In Kesumba trees, the ISTEM method gave the lowest value of Rp. 827,839.44, while the Thyer method gave a much higher economic value of Rp. 19,279,451.33. In Thyer's method with the lowest economic value tree on the pulai tree of Rp. 14,841,037.06 compared to the Pulai tree using the ISTEM method, the economic value is lower at Rp. 7,279,190.69. This difference shows a significant difference in value assessment between the two methods, this is due to the parameters used. The ISTEM method shows differences in economic value between trees, influenced by factors such as tree height, trunk diameter, wood quality, and growth rate.
