Abstract

Undergrowth and weeds function as soil cover, prevent erosion, and provide habitat for various small fauna. The presence of these plants also affects the nutrient cycle and soil quality. Undergrowth have an important role in maintaining the balance of the forest ecosystem. Variations in undergrowth species and density can be influenced by factors such as light intensity, soil moisture, and interactions with other plants. This research underscores the importance of undersgrowth conservation as part of a sustainable forest management strategy. Research was carried out in secondary forests that were established for specific purposes. Data collection was carried out through field surveys involving direct observation, vegetation sampling. Analysis was carried out to identify the type and level of mastery of each type based on the density and frequency of the types that appeared in the observation plots. Apart from inventorying weed types, this research aims to see the diversity and evenness values in the observation area. The findings show that the undergrowth and weeds in secondary forests, in this case the sengon plant (Paraserianthes falcataria) have 17 types belonging to 7 families, the diversity value (H') is 2.35 and the evenness index (E) is 0.83.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the preparation of conservation partnership program planning in TWA Pelaihari. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach which is described in a descriptive form, by describing the preparation of the conservation partnership program planning obtained from observations, interviews, literature studies, documentation and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Data analysis used Participatory Conservation Plan (PCP) analysis. The results of the analysis of factors/activities that affect the system in the Pelaihari TWA area in the first rank (I) are occupied by tree logging activities where the disturbance value (C) is 61, a percentage of 35.9% where tree logging activities carried out by the community are very widespread, the second rank (II) is occupied by the waste factor where the disturbance value (C) is 40, a percentage of 23.5%, this is due to the presence of visitors, both local and visitors from outside, who bring garbage into the Pelaihari TWA area and the third rank (III) is occupied by natural factors where the disturbance value (C) is 25 with a percentage of 14.7%, this is due to the influence of the tides and seawater which results in damage to the ecosystem in the Pelaihari TWA area. Preparation of a conservation partnership plan based on a participatory conservation planning process involving elements of the community, village government and the South Kalimantan BKSDA where the strategy formulated supports the success of the conservation partnership program.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bioakumulasi logam berat Pb dan Cu pada Rhizophora mucronata. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada 30 plot yang meliputi sampel tanaman Rhizophora mucronata dan sedimen di bawahnya untuk dianalisis akumulasi Pb dan Cu. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis faktor biokonsentrasi (BCF).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rata-rata kandungan logam berat Cu pada vegetasi mangrove jenis Rhizophora mucronata di seluruh plot yaitu 2,31 ppm, sedangkan rata-rata kandungan Pb 0,942 ppm  dan masih sesuai dengan batas toleransi bagi tumbuhan mangrove jenis hizophora mucronata.  Rata-rata akumulasi Cu pada sedimen yaitu 0,0869 ppm dan rata-rata akumulasi Pb pada sedimen yaitu 0,0043 ppm dan masih di bawah baku mutu.  Nilai BCF logam berat Pb pada seluruh plot pengamatan memiliki nilai BCF diantara 100 – 1.000 yang berarti bahwa memiliki sifat akumulasi sedang.  Nilai  BCF Cu pada seluruh plot kecuali plot 7 memiliki nilai < 100 yang berarti bahwa memiliki sifat akumulasi Cu yang rendah, sedangkan pada plot 7 memiliki nilai 249,4 (BCF = 100 – 1.000) yang berarti bahwa memiliki sifat akumulasi sedang.

Abstract

Problems with the community regarding the use of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in national park areas are one of the debates that are often faced, including in the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The effectiveness of implementing forestry partnerships based on the perspective of the community as permit holders is something that must be done to resolve this problem. A person's perspective based on their perceptions is usually influenced by demographics and social capital, so it is necessary to know whether both have an influence on forestry partnership programs. Many studies have proven that, in particular, the success of forest management with the community cannot be separated from the contribution of social capital, especially through the variables of trust, social norms and existing social networks. So far, there has been a lot of research on forestry partnerships in national parks that has been linked to the success of increasing production, but still very little has been linked to the characteristics and social aspects of the community. Based on this, the aim of this research is to analyze the role of social capital in the implementation of forestry partnerships in the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The research was conducted in July 2023 with a sample of 95 respondents who were members of the partnership program. Data analysis through hypothesis testing Partial Least Square- Structural Equation Model (Second Order) using Smart PLS.4.0 software. The results of hypothesis testing show that social capital variables (trust, norms/values, and networks) influence partnership members to participate in the program. The level of social capital owned by the community shows the level of trust from both internal and external groups, the level of compliance with the rules and the level of motivation to build a stronger marketing network by involving the roles of the parties.

Abstract

Climate change and global warming continue to occur up to the present. One of the gases significantly influencing climate change is carbon dioxide (CO2). The increase in CO2 can be mitigated by capturing carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in biomass in a process known as carbon sequestration. Forests play a crucial role as a mitigator in reducing global warming and climate change, acting as both a carbon sink and absorber. Mangrove forests, in particular have a high capacity for carbon storage, approximately three times more than terrestrial forests. This research aims to (1) assess the health condition of the mangrove forests in Pesawaran Regency and (2) estimate the CO2 absorption produced by Pesawaran Regency. The study utilizes Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and field data collection. Sentinel-2 images undergo Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) transformation. The research results indicate that the mangrove forests in Pesawaran Regency in 2023 are predominantly in good condition, covering an area of 562,31 hectares (99%), while 6,12 hectares (1%) are in a degraded condition. The CO2 absorption by the mangrove forests pesawaran regency is estimated to be 336.367,47 tons CO2  and 591,75 tons CO2/ha.

Abstract

Lahan di Sub DAS Riam Kanan hampir 50% merupakan lahan kritis dengan erosi sebesar 150,9322 ton/ha/tahun dan laju erosi rata rata sebesar 9,43 mm/thn. Lahan kritis ini dibagi menjadi 2 yaitu sangat kritis (176,046 ha) dan kritis (308,728 ha). Agar tidak menjadi lebih parah maka harus ditangani secara bertahap, 38% cukup ditangani pada jangka panjang, 32% masuk dalam menengah dan 30% harus ditangani pada jangka pendek. Tujuan dan Manfaat Penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tingkat bahaya erosi di lokasi rehabilitasi, merumuskan upaya pengendalian berdasarkan tingkat bahaya erosi di lapangan. Tingkat bahaya Erosi  menunjukkan kelas  yang relatif  bervariasi,  dari TBE kelas I-R (Ringan), II-S (Sedang) dan III-B (Berat). Penutup lahan Kawasan Rehabilitasi PT. Arutmin Indonesia Desa Benua Riam Kecamatan Aranio Kabupaten Banjar merupakan Hutan Tanaman (HT) dengan jumlah luas TBE kelas 0-SR (Sangat Ringan) sebesar 35,82 ha (20,36%), I-R (Ringan) sebesar 41,36 ha (23,51 %),  II-S (Sedang) sebesar 49,73 ha (28,27 %) dan III-B (Berat) sebesar 49,02 ha (27,86 %).  Arahan rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan yang direkomendasikan terdapat 3 (tiga) kelompok : a) Pada unit lahan blok A (UL-04), blok B (UL-01,UL-04) dan blok C (UL-01,UL03,UL-04) dengan TBE 0-SR dan 1-R dilakukan penambahan jenis unggul/endemik, b) Pada unit lahan blok A (UL-03), blok B (UL-02, UL-03) dan blok C (UL-02) dengan TBE II-S dilakukan penambahan jenis unggul/endemik diikuti dengan metode mekanik, seperti pembuatan teras gulud dan c) Pada unit lahan dengan TBE III-B (blok A unit lahan UL-01 dan UL-02) dilakukan penambahan jenis unggul/endemik/MPTS yang memiliki perakaran yang dalam dan tajuk rimbun, penanaman rumput dan diikuti dengan metode mekanik pembuatan teras kredit.

Abstract

Pengeringan kayu adalah suatu proses kegiatan penurunan kadar air kayu sehingga mencapai kadar air tertentu dengan atau tanpa pengaturan atau penyusunan tertentu dengan atau tanpa pengaturan panas, kelembaban dan sirkulasi udara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membedakan  perubahan kadar air kayu Akasia Daun Lebar (Acacia mangium Willd) baik dengan pengeringan dalam ruangan maupun oven. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Hutan Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarbaru. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kayu Akasia Daun Lebar (Acacia mangium Willd) yang berukuran 2 x 5 x 25 cm sebanyak 24 buah contoh uji masing-masing 8 buah bagian pangkal, 8 buah bagian tengah dan 8 buah pada bagian ujung pohon yang dikeringkan di ruangan dan oven. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap 3 x 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kadar air di dalam oven cenderung semakin besar seiring dengan semakin naiknya posisi batang dalam kayu begitu pula di dalam ruangan. Dilihat dari kadar air kayu yang dikeringkan di dalam oven yaitu bagian pangkal sebesar 3,61 %, bagian tengah sebesar 3,77 % dan pada bagian ujung sebesar 5,20 %, maka persentase kadar air tersebut sangat baik digunakan untuk pembuatan alat-alat musik seperti gitar, biola dan lain-lain. Sedangkan kadar air kayu yang dikeringkan di ruangan yaitu bagian pangkal sebesar 17,32 %, bagian tengah sebesar 15,37 % dan bagian ujung  sebesar 16,65 %, maka rata-rata kadar air tersebut sangat baik digunakan untuk konstruksi bangunan seperti kusen jendela, rangka daun jendela dan penyekat ruangan (lumber sharing).

Abstract

The welfare of farmers has an impact on poverty levels, food security and economic stability in a country. Welfare is a situation where a citizen feels that their situation has been well met for all their needs both materially, spiritually and socially. The aim of this research is firstly to compare the welfare of the community of rubber farmers and palm oil farmers in Durian Bungkuk Village, Batu Ampar District and secondly, to analyze the types of farmers that have an impact on the welfare of the people of Durian Bungkuk Village, Batu Ampar District. This research uses three sustainable welfare variables, namely income/economy, education and health. This research uses a quantitative method by determining respondents using the census method. Management of this data analysis uses homogeneity tests, normality tests and independent t-tests with the SPSS 25 application. Analysis of the types of farmers who provide more prosperity uses the largest average data of respondents' answers from the Likert Scale. The homogeneity test results obtained a significance value of 0.717. The normality test results showed that the significance value for rubber farmers was 0.124, while the significance value for oil palm farmers was 0.082. The results of the independent t-test between rubber farmers and oil palm farmers obtained a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000, meaning that there is a difference in the average income of rubber and oil palm farmers. The average result per variable and the average respondent's answer was that the rubber farmer's yield was 3.55 while the palm oil farmer's yield was 3.15, so that rubber farmers provided more welfare than palm oil farmers for the community in Durian Bungkuk village, Batu Ampar district.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang tinggal sekitar hutan pada umumnya miskin dan berpendidikan rendah, oleh karena itu petani harus menerapkan strategi penghidupan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan. Strategi penghidupan adalah upaya yang dilakukan untuk memenuhi kehidupan dan keluar dari masalah kemiskinan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi lima modal penghidupan petani penyadap aren yang terdiri dari modal manusia, modal alam, modal sosial, modal fisik dan modal finansial petani penyadap aren gabungan kelompok tani hutan rimba hijau dan menganalisis strategi penghidupan petani penyadap aren Gabungan Kelompok Tani Hutan Rimba Hijau Desa Salubalo Kecamatan Sumarorong Kabupaten Mamasa. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif dan analisis SWOT. Populasi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara sensus sebanyak 14 orang petani penyadap aren yang termasuk dalam Gabungan Kelompok Tani Hutan Rimba Hijau, data dikumpul melalui observasi serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan identifikasi lima modal petani penyadap aren diperoleh berupa modal tertinggi yaitu modal fisik dengan nilai 42,9 dan modal terendah berupa modal finansial dengan nilai 30 dan rekomendasi strategi penghidupan petani penyadap aren yaitu mengikuti pelatihan untuk dapat meningkatkan keterampilan  pengelolaan tanaman aren, meningkatkan pengembangan usaha aren, kemudian mengaplikasikan keterampilan tersebut untuk meningkatkan penghasilan dengan menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas dan meminimalisir pengeluaran.
