Abstract

One of the mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students is the ability to solve mathematical problems. If students have good mathematical problem solving skills, students will not only memorize the concepts that have been taught but can also be applied in everyday life and other disciplines. So it is important for a student to improve his mathematical problem solving abilities. But in learning, the teacher often gives questions that are routine in nature which causes the students' mathematical problem solving ability to be low. When students are asked to work on non-routine questions, students find it difficult. Therefore, the authors designed a learning design that allows students to apply mathematical concepts to other disciplines and everyday life. The design of the learning design chosen by the author is to use the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning approach which is expected to use the STEM approach to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problem-solving abilities of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 17 Mataram in the matter of number patterns using learning via WhatsApp for the 2021/2022 academic year and identify problems encountered by teachers and students in the learning process via WhatsApp. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, namely class VIII A as many as 26 students. The data collection technique used was giving tests, distributing questionnaires and student responses, as well as interviews. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, it shows that the average problem solving ability of student is 62.10 which is included in the less detailed category, 15 students or 57.70% of students with poor problem-solving abilities (not yet able to complete all stages), 3 students or 11.54% of students with sufficient problem-solving abilities (not yet able to perform the stages of finding strategies, using strategies, and looking back completely), 2 students or 7.69% with good problem-solving abilities (not yet able to carry out stages of understand the problem and looking back completely), 6 students or 23.07% of students with very good problem solving skills (not yet able to do the stages of looking back completely). There are obstacles encountered by teachers in the learning process via WhatsApp, namely studens’ internet connection, some students do not know how to reply answer correctly, difficulties in explaining the stage of problem solving properly. While the obstacles encountered by students namely, internet network, motivation, giving assignments, and understanding of the stages of problem solving, as well subject matter.

Abstract

Creative thinking ability is very important for every individual and is an essential skill needed in the 21st century. However, the reality found based on the results of PISA and TIMSS shows that the creative thinking ability of Indonesian students is relatively low. One approach that can improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This study aims to describe the STEM approach and the implementation of STEM in improving students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The research method used is literature review. The articles used were 23 articles closely related to the keywords and selection criteria obtained from Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Semantic Scholar with the help of the Publish or Perish application. Based on the literature review that has been presented, the STEM approach is proven to improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills. STEM implementation can be integrated with Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), and inquiry learning models.

Abstract

With the problem of difficulty understanding mathematical ideas experienced by students, due to the abstract nature of ideas and their rarity in our everyday existence. Therefore, a social constructivist philosophical view emerged which emphasizes learning by building students' own knowledge based on their experiences which can be applied through Ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) offering learning from authentic settings, namely through culture. This research tries to provide a literature review regarding the use of social constructivism in Ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is the research method chosen for this research. The data collection process includes collecting and analyzing every published article and book that discusses the philosophy of social constructivism and ethnomathematics-based RME. The journals used in this research are national and international journals indexed by SINTA and SCOPUS. Research findings show that ethnomathematics-based RME techniques can build mathematical concepts by utilizing the cultural context. Everyday existence occurs within a cultural framework. Learning with an ethnomathematics-based RME approach is effective because it can improve various types of mathematical abilities.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi pada era Society 5.0 sangat mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk Pendidikan. Perkembangan teknologi digital membantu pendidik dan peserta didik mencapai tujuan Pendidikan. Hal ini terlihat melalui keterikatan generasi Z pada teknologi, yakni generasi yang lahir antara 1995 dan 2012. Rata-rata usia siswa SMA di Indonesia adalah 15-18 tahun, yang berarti mereka termasuk dalam generasi tersebut. Generasi ini dikenal adaptif terhadap teknologi, sehingga seluruh aspek kehidupan, termasuk Pendidikan, menjadi terintegrasi dengan teknologi. Penerapan teknologi dalam pembelajaran perlu diutamakan bagi siswa Gen Z. Artikel ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi bagaimana persepsi siswa generasi Z terhadap efektivitas penggunaan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran matematika dan bagaimana kaitannya dengan teori belajar kognitif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei untuk mengumpulkan data melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan lewat Google Form kepada 208 siswa SMA di Jabodetabek. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas siswa setuju bahwa penggunaan teknologi digital dapat diterima dan dianggap efektif dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This paper presents the development of the learning design for the Two Variable Linear Inequality System (SPLtDV) material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model for high school students. To find out the suitability of the learning model with the teaching material, student analysis, needs analysis, and task analysis are discussed in detail. PBL learning stages consist of 5 phases, namely 1) student orientation to problems; 2) organize students to learn; 3) guide individual and group investigations; 4) develop and present the work; and 5) analyze and evaluate the problem solving process. The results and discussion are discussed in detail to determine the suitability of the selection of teaching materials with the chosen learning objectives and how the learning activities support the learning objectives. Then to determine the effectiveness of the PBL design, it is necessary to evaluate both formative evaluation and summative evaluation.Keywords : Problem Based Learning (PBL), learning design, design learning

This research aims to conduct a literature review related to Realistic Mathematics Education (PMR) and the effectiveness of the ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education approach. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is the research method chosen for this research. The data collection process includes collecting and analyzing every publication published between 2007 and 2023 that discusses ethnomathematics-based realistic mathematics education. The journals used in this research were 15 national and international journals indexed by SINTA and SCOPUS. Research findings show that PMR techniques build mathematical concepts by utilizing real-world contexts. Everyday existence occurs within a cultural framework. Learning with an ethnomathematics-based PMR approach is effective to use because it can improve various types of mathematical abilities.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of “Entrepreneurship” at SMA Islam Al-Azhar BSD as an integration of edupreneurship values in education. The activity, titled Albesd Fun Mart, involved 11th-grade students from various academic tracks who were divided into groups to showcase and sell country-themed products, such as food, fashion, and cultural items. The project was carried out through four stages: introduction, contextualization, action, and reflection. Observations and interviews revealed that the program positively impacted students’ entrepreneurial character development, including initiative, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Moreover, it supported contextual learning, strengthened 21st-century competencies, and increased student enthusiasm and ownership of their projects. However, several challenges were noted, such as unequal task distribution and limited financial management knowledge. Overall, the program provided meaningful experiential learning and can serve as a best practice model for entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pola kesalahan pseudo mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal integral tentu bentuk polinomial sebagai sebuah studi kasus eksploratif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan kerangka Newman Error Analysis yang dimodifikasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika yang dipilih secara purposive sampling sebagai representasi kasus untuk dieksplorasi lebih lanjut. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis dan dianalisis berdasarkan tahapan membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan pseudo mahasiswa dalam kalkulus bukan sekadar kekeliruan prosedural, melainkan berakar pada keterputusan antara pemahaman konseptual, keterampilan prosedural, dan representasi simbolik. Meskipun jumlah subjek terbatas, hasil eksplorasi ini memperlihatkan pola kesalahan berulang yang dapat dijadikan dasar untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih menekankan pada penguatan keterampilan aljabar, pemahaman konseptual integral, serta kemampuan verifikasi diri. Temuan ini juga membuka peluang untuk penelitian lanjutan dengan cakupan lebih luas sehingga dapat menguji konsistensi pola yang teridentifikasi pada konteks yang berbeda.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara sistematis efektivitas e-modul interaktif berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) peserta didik pada berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam pembelajaran konvensional yang belum optimal memanfaatkan teknologi digital sebagai sarana pembelajaran aktif dan reflektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pendekatan deskriptif analitis, mengikuti panduan PRISMA 2020. Data sekunder dikumpulkan dari 18 artikel ilmiah terpublikasi pada periode 2020-2025 melalui basis data Scopus, ERIC, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, dan Google Scholar. Pemilihan artikel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria kesesuaian topik, desain penelitian, dan relevansi terhadap variabel yang dikaji. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik dan kuantitatif deskriptif, menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan NVivo 14 untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tren penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan e-modul interaktif berbasis PBL berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan HOTS dengan rata-rata peningkatan 24,8% (SD = 7,6%) dan nilai effect size Cohen’s d = 0,84, yang tergolong tinggi. Fitur e-modul yang paling berkontribusi adalah interaktivitas dinamis, umpan balik otomatis, dan simulasi kontekstual. Temuan ini mendukung hipotesis bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan dukungan media interaktif mampu mengembangkan kemampuan analisis, evaluasi, dan kreasi peserta didik. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkuat pendekatan konstruktivis dan teori pembelajaran multimedia, serta memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan kurikulum digital dan peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam desain pembelajaran abad ke-21.
