Palakka: Media and Islamic Communication is published twice a year, June and December by the Communication and Islamic Broadcast Study Program at the Bone State Islamic Institute. Abstract

This study aims to describe the ideology revealed in the Bone district government public service announcements using Charles W. Morris's semiotics. Public service announcements made by the government of Bone Regency are expected to pragmatically have an effect on the community, as with commercial advertisements. Ideology in PSA is expected to have a positive effect on recipients of PSA messages. The ideology that is understood is expected to be the attitude and behavior of the people as targets of existing PSAs. This research is a qualitative descriptive type. The data is sourced from existing texts in PSA made by the Bone district government. The data collection procedures in this study are the recording technique, listening technique, and note taking technique. and interview techniques. This research will describe the ideological effects of Bone Local Government PSA based on the work culture and work spirit tagline.

Abstract

This study discusses the Strategy of Improving Communication Through Online Learning Methods “Asynchronous and Synchronous". The purpose of this research is to describe the communication methods used in improving the quality of online learning and to explain the advantages and challenges of using online communication methods to the effectiveness of the learning process. This research is library research or library research. This research explores asynchronous learning methods and synchronous methods. Library research or library research is a series of activities related to methods of collecting library data, reading, and recording and managing library collection materials.  The results of the study indicate that the Asynchronous learning method is a learning communication method where students can interact with each other with the material provided at the time they specify, while the synchronous method refers to a learning or teaching process that occurs simultaneously through an electronic mode. Keywords:  Communication; Online learning; Asyncronous and synchronous.

Abstract

AbstractThe development of communication technology facilitate the community, for instance the social media Tik Tok. It can be a popular social media in community which is loved and used by various groups. Social media Tik Tok is a video sharing application that provides various interesting facilities of video and music effects, it can relieve stress, boredom and the users can also develop their talents and creativity. From this phenomenon researcher interested to overview Tik Tok from Islamic perspective. This study employed descriptive literature study. The results of the study clarified that Tik Tok on Islam's perpective is a good social media to be used to establish friendship, providing information and socialization and as entertainment. However, it also has negative impact including addiction in using Tik Tok, the close behavior on sex and pornography that can vitiate the morals for its users. Therefore, the Tik Tok users have to be wiser in using that social media. Keywords: Social media; Tik Tok Application; Islam.

Abstract

This study discusses the " The Government Communication Strategy in Efforts to Prevent Drug Abuse among the Young Generation".  The purpose of this study was to find out how the communication strategy used to prevent drug abuse among the younger generation and to approach individuals through socialization about the dangers of drug use.  While the form of communication through individual approach and systems approach. In the individual approach through the view of socialization, based on the view of socialization, behavior will be identified as a social problem if it does not succeed in passing social learning (socialization). From these results it can be concluded that the cause of bany ak Her younger generation mengkomsusi or even distribute drugs because , at present largely younger generation does not have a regular job so easily incited by certain people about how c fig -how to use the drug.

Abstract

The Corporate Social Responsibility program is a program created by a company for people who live around the company or communities that are affected by the existence of the company, the CSR program was created to provide a positive image for the company. Besides, the CSR program is also designed to improve the welfare of the community and the surrounding environment as well as a sense of the company's responsibility towards the various parties involved and those affected either directly or indirectly. So that the CSR program, can improve the company's positive image. The community and stakeholders will give a positive view of the company if the company can be accountable properly to the stakeholders. This study aims to observe the CSR program contained in the Pandanaran Prawirotaman Hotel Yogyakarta, namely to find out how a CSR program is implemented and what benefits the company gets, as well as to find out how reciprocity is from the community to the CSR program carried out by Pandanaran Hotel Prawirotaman Yogyakarta. Data collection using observational techniques, literature study, and interviews are carried out in this study. The results of this study indicates that the CSR program created at Hotel Pandanaran is very much adapted to the location of the hotel in the area where many foreign tourists come. The Pandanaran Hotel Public Relations Team also considers that the CSR program in the form of art activities is one of the gaps and opportunities for the existence of the hotel itself.

Abstract

Abstractindependence Media Has a very complicated concept. Generally, independence is the idea that journalists must be free from interference in carrying out and practicing their profession. Most of the news is the construction of reality plus the ideology and interests of Online Media. Often Online Media always chooses problems, information, or other forms of content based on manager and owner standards. The choice of angle, direction, and framing of content that is considered a mirror of reality is determined by Online Media professionals (gatekeepers) and in accordance with owner's standards. Online Media alignments in viewing news, has consequences that may be beneficial or detrimental to Online Media. Abstract

The present study highlights the communication which is concerned spoken discourse that occurs in an interaction in research presentations. The goals of this study are to explore how the interruptions in interaction are used in EFL (English a Foreign Language) students’ research presentation and what sorts and intentions on it. Thus, this study scrutinizes EFL students who presented research proposals and lecturers who supervised and examined them at the postgraduate program of State University of Makassar in 2017. The number of participants in this study was 20 academicians who were taken as a sample purposively. This study was navigated by descriptive qualitative method. To collect data, the writer employed discourse analysis approach by using video recorder to probe the spoken of speaker in doing conversation. Data recording was transformed into transcript. The transcription was coded to obtain the excerpt to be interpreted to find out the sorts of interruption in interaction of research presentation. Findings exposed that interruption are delivered in a competitive and cooperative manner. The two forms of interruption, there are two sorts with several intentions, including alert that aims to remind, inform, and correct the previous speaker. In addition, there is also a met comment that aims to questioning, suggesting, and jesting.

Abstract

Post public sphere is a conceptual term which derived from the author to describe the emergence of new public spaces called virtual or digital public spaces. The virtual public space appears together with advances of information technology, which not only transforms the communication space of society, but also disrupts communication patterns that take place in the real world into the virtual world. This is a digital era which marked by disruption in various fields of life, in social, cultural, and economic and political life. One of the symptoms that arise is the disruption of public space from the real world to the virtual or digital space. Virtual space becomes a medium where each individual communicates without being limited by space and time. The post-public sphere refers to the phenomenon of change (disruption) in the public space that has led demos to enter a new communication arena that is different and does not even relate to the old public space. The new communication arena operates in a virtual (digital) world that is radiated by social media such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, including the massive media currently being is the YouTube media. Thus, the presence of various kinds of social media also provides preference for communication spaces for individual citizens to access and disseminate information independently. In the sense of an individualized information on each subject of citizenship.

Abstract

The intense competition in the world of industry and business requires a company to be more creative to market its products. Companies will struggle to face their contenders without creativities, innovatives, and strategies to persuade prospectives consumers. One of the funnels to compete is to use advertising media. Advertising media as a means of communication used to deliver and disseminate messages which follow the marketing objectives, one of which is through total branding marketing. This study was to determine Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic message based on the object, representant (sign), and interpretant with a qualitative approach through observation, content analysis, and data collection through library research. The results of the analysis of this research prove that advertising communication is no longer offering a clear and rigid product, but also through creative and attractive persuasive product of marketing. From a semiotic point of view, it can be seen that advertising does not only provide information about a product or service, it does not only try to market the product persuasively but has extended to specific situation conditioning in the target market. By using this Rinso Warna product, through advertisements, it can be seen that the stain on the clothes will disappear in the first wash, where the color of the clothes will be maintained even after several washing processes, hands will feel smooth.

Abstract

This study focuses on comparing the effectiveness of online and offline learning methods in the 2020 Islamic Communication and Broadcasting study program as a trial class in 2021. This study uses the Uses and Gratification method. This research was conducted using the Quantitative Comparative method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the offline learning method has a higher effectiveness than the online learning method on KPI Students Class of 2020 as a trial class in 2021, this is evidenced by comparative quantitative calculations carried out by researchers in which the variable y shows a higher value. compared to variable x. This research is limited to one class in the study program at IAIN Parepare, therefore it is recommended that further research can expand the scope of the subject.
