Abstract

Background: Heavy physical exercise can reduce blood flow and metabolism in kidney that eventually release free radicals. The free radicals can form oxydative stress and damage renal tissue. Exogenous antioxydant administration is usually recommended to minimize the renal tissue damage. This study aimed to examined the effect of purple sweet potato (Ipomoiea batatas L.) extract on renal tissue damage  in mice  (mus musculus L.) after heavy physical exercise.Subjects and Method: This was a randomized controlled trial with post test only control design. The study subjects included twenty four male white mice with DD Webster strain. These mice were divided into six groups. After undergoing excessive swimming exercises that lasted forteen days, purple sweet potato extract was given to the experimental group. There were three experimental groups receiving three different doses of purple sweet potato. The mice kidney was taken as sample for microscopic examination to determine the extent of tissue damage. Difference in renal tissue damage was tested by Kruskal-Wallis.Results: Microscopic examination showed statistically significant difference in tissue damage both in right (p=0.001) and left (p=0.036) kidneys, between study groups. The experimental groups showed less damaged than control group.Conclusion: Purple sweet potato (Ipomoiea batatas L) can lessen renal damage in male white mice (Mus musculus L) undergoing excessive physical exercise.Keywords: purple sweet potato (Ipomoiea batatas L), renal tissue damage miceCorespondance: Rika Nailuvar Sinaga. Abstract

Background: Physical exercise can improve antioxidant defense system of organis. But long and heavy exercise can disrupt the balance of oxidant-antioxidant. Low glutathione peroxidase is associated with free radicals. Plant purple sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L.) contain anthocyanins high enough that act as antioxidants. This stu­dy aimed to determine the effect of extracts of tubers of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea Batatas L.) on the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GPx) liver of mice (Mus Musculus) treated with maximal physical exercise.Subjects and Method: This was a true experimental study. This conducted with the design of the control group post-test only in vivo on 24 white male mice (Mus musculus), DD Webster strain. Da­ta analysis was using SPSS software 19. Statistical testing decision taken 5% significance level (p=0.05). Results: The results showed that the average enzyme activity of GPx in the P5 is the highest enzyme activity GPx (mean=19:39 ± SD=7:06, p=0.024), which means there are significant differ­rences in the enzyme activity of GPx values between groups.Conclusion: This study showed that the extract could increase the activity of GPx hepatic enzyme­es mice significantly.Keywords: physical exercise maximum, free radicals, purple sweet potato, anthocyanin, GPxCorrespondence: Ayu Elvana. Abstract

Berolahraga di dalam ruangan dengan oksigen (O2) yang cukup dari pada luar ruangan akan menyebabkan meningkatnya kadar asam laktat di otot maupun darah, selain itu suhu lingkungan dalam ruangan lebih tinggi dibanding suhu luar ruangan saat melakukan aktifivitas fisik dan suhu yang tinggi dapat meningkatkan temperatur tubuh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di FIK Universitas Negeri Makasar, prodi Ilmu keolahragaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan aktivitas fisik outdoor dan indoor dengan suhu tubuh, kadar asam laktat, kadar glukosa darah, dan kelelahan pada aktivitas fisik submaksimal dengan menggunakan program penelitian desain kelompok pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Ilmu Olahraga Fakultas Sains Olahraga, Universitas Negeri Makassar. Kelompok aktivitas outdoor dan indoor diberikan aktivitas fisik submaximal berupa mengayuh Ergocycle dengan 85% HRmax. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa: hasil uji sampel bebas variabel t-2 delta-3 suhu tubuh adalah p = 0,901 (p> 0,05) kadar asam laktat delta-2 adalah p = 0,000 (p <0,05), delta- 1 level glukosa darah adalah p = 0,808 (p> 0,05), kekuatan otot delta-4 / kelelahan adalah p = 0,000 (p <0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: tidak ada peningkatan suhu tubuh setelah melakukan aktivitas outdoor dan indoor, ada peningkatan kadar asam laktat 5 menit setelah aktivitas outdoor dan indoor, tidak ada penurunan kadar glukosa darah kanan setelah aktivitas fisik submaksimal untuk aktivitas outdoor dan indoor, terjadi penurunan kekuatan otot / kelelahan setelah aktivitas outdoor dan indoor. Kata kunci : Aktivitas Indoor dan Outdoor, Aktivitas Fisik Sub-Maksimal

Abstract

Angka kematian akibat kejadian kardiovaskular pada wanita obesitas empat kali lebih tinggi dibanding non obesitas. Diet rendah karbohidrat (carbo diet) lebih efektif untuk mengurangi berat badan. Carbo diet  ditempuh dengan cara mengurangi kadar glikemik (gula otot) dengan cara mengonsumsi makanan yang mengandung serat seperti sayuran, kacang dan gandum, dengan sedikit pembatasan kalori memiliki keuntungan dalam mengontrol berat badan dan gula darah. Berbagai modifikasi diet rendah karbohidrat pada penderita obesitas sangat berpengaruh terhadap berat badan dalam mengurangi jumlah berat badan penderita obesitas. Meskipun diet rendah karbohidrat  paling sering dibahas sebagai pendekatan penurunan berat badan, beberapa ahli telah mengusulkan menggunakan diet rendah karbohidrat untuk mengurangi atau mencegah penyakit termasuk diabetes, penyakit metabolik dan epilepsi. untuk mencapai berat badan permanen yang ideal, haruslah mengubah gaya hidup.

Abstract

In recent years there has been an increase in the prevalence of viral infections worldwide with the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease. Various attempts have been made to find new drugs and vaccines against the viruses that cause it, but there are no effective preventive and curative drugs yet, so boosting the immune system is one of the most important things to do. One of the natural ingredients that are believed to increase the body's immunity is Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), but it still needs more intense research. In addition to the use of natural ingredients, exercise is also important to maintain and increase immunity. One indicator that is sensitive to impaired immune response is leukocytes. This study aims to see the effect of giving VCO and physical exercise on immune function by measuring leukocyte levels. This is an experimental study with a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 12 people who were divided into two groups. During the exercise with an intensity of 70-80% in two weeks with a frequency of three times a week, the experimental group was given 15 ml of VCO every day while the control group was given a placebo. Leukocyte levels were measured before and after treatment. Leukocyte levels in the control group increased significantly while the experimental group decreased insignificantly. Giving virgin coconut oil in this study significantly reduced leukocyte levels.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the management of PT Inalum Persero's sports facilities in 2023. This research was carried out at the PT Complex. Inalum Jalan Beringin Kota Baru Tanjung Gading, Sei-Suka District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research was conducted from April to October 2023. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method. The sample in this study was 30 people including 3 managers or contractors, 19 employees and users of PT sports facilities. Inalum Persero 8. Data collection techniques use observation, questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used by researchers in this research is quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. From the results of this research data analysis, it was found that the results of the planning process were 3.74 in the good category, the results of the organizing process were 3.81 in the good category, the results in the directing process were 4.50 in the very good category, and the control process was 3.91 fall into the good category. Based on the research results obtained from data analysis, it was concluded that the results of PT Inalum Persero's sports facility management planning indicators for 2023 obtained a result of 3.74 in the good category. The results of the 2023 PT Inalum Persero sports facility management organization indicators obtained a result of 3.81 in the good category. The results of PT Inalum Persero's 2023 sports facility management direction indicators obtained a result of 4.50 in the very good category. The results of the management control indicators for PT Inalum Persero's sports facility management in 2023 obtained a result of 3.91 in the good category
