Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia in 2019-2020 decreased from 67.74% to 56.9%. This is caused by several problems, both maternal and baby problems. Babies who are not exclusively breastfed are very susceptible to diseases such as respiratory tract infections (ARI), diarrhea, severe intestinal problems in premature babies, decreased Intelligence Quotient (IQ) (Wijayanti, 2015). Therefore the author is interested in conducting research on "Therapeutic Application Complementary with Fenugreek Seed Tea (Klabet) to Increase Breast Milk Production in Langkapura Village, Bandar Lampung City in 2023.” Research Objective: To determine the effectiveness of applying complementary therapy of Fenugreek seed tea (Klabet) to increase breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers. Research Method: This study used an independent t test research design with a population of 30 breastfeeding mothers and the sample for this study used the total population. Data techniques use computer program statistical calculations. Research Results: In the experimental group 93.3% of respondents were aged 21-35 years, 66.7% had a high school education, 80.0% were unemployed and 53.3% were multiparous, while in the control group 100.0% were aged 21-35 years old, 60% had a high school education, 66.7% did not work and 53.3% were primiparous. In the experimental group the pre test average was 4.47 and the post test average was 9.53. Meanwhile, in the control group, the pre-test average was 4.07 with the post-test average being 6.93. Conclusions and Recommendations: Based on the results of research using an independent t test, it was found that Ho was rejected, which means there was an effect of fenugreek seed tea on breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers in Langkapura Village, Bandar Lampung City in 2023.

Abstract

Health promotion through reproductive health education can help increase adolescent girls’ knowledge about the impact of early marriage. Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest number of early marriages. Selection of effective health education media is an urgency as an effort to reduce the number of early marriages. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of health education using the podcast and flipchart methods. This study used a quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design which was carried out from December 2021 to January 2022 on 106 adolescent girls in Cibatur Keusik Village, Lebak Regency. Research respondents were divided into podcast groups and flipchart groups. In the podcast group, adolescent girls received health education using the audio method from the podcast while the flipchart group received the visual method from the flipchart. The analysis used in this study is univariate and bivariate. The results showed that the average value of the podcast group (32.49) was lower than the flipchart group (69.25). Statistically, it can be concluded that health education using the flipchart method is more effective than the podcast method (p=0.000; t=-6.21; df=104). Health education using the flipchart method is more effective than the podcast method. The method can be used by health promoters to improve adolescents' understanding of the impact of early marriage.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder of growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition and repeated infections, which are characterized by their length or height being below standard. Malnutrition-free children are a commitment with the world, including Indonesia. The international world's commitment, contained in the second point of the Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizes the importance of "ending hunger, achieving food security and improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture". To achieve this goal, tackling the problem of malnutrition, including malnutrition, needs to be improved. Toddlers with malnutrition have short and long term impacts, in the form of growth and development disorders, including impaired cognitive function, morbidity, risk of degenerative diseases in the future and death. Stunting can be prevented early on during pregnancy, one of the interventions is good nutrition during pregnancy. Knowledge of nutrition during pregnancy isimportant for pregnant women to prevent stunted children from being born. Many pregnant women do not pay attention to nutritional intake during pregnancy so that their child can be born with stunting. Therefore, every pregnant woman must know about good nutritional intake during pregnancy to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Hyperlipidemia can result from obesity, which causes excess fat to build in the tissue under the skin and spread to other organs and tissues. Indonesia has an alarming dyslipidemia rate. Diet and exercise are vital. Hypolipidemia is in red dragon fruit (Hylocereus spp.) The study examined whether oral red dragon fruit extract prevented dyslipidemia in male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) fed a high-cholesterol diet. This research used 24 mice as test animals. The research procedures included acclimation of the test animals, dragon fruit extract, phytochemical tests, preparation of the test animals, treatment with four groups, dyslipidemia parameter checks, histopathological preparations, and observations. Normal tests for total cholesterol, LDL, LSD, and HDL yielded p-values> 0.05. Homogeneity tests with a 5% significance level yielded p values < 0.05. This study's one-way Anova test yields a significance value of 0.000, or <0.05, whereas the post-hoc LSD test yields <0.05. The best red dragon fruit extract dose for lowering total and LDL cholesterol and raising HDL is 120 mg/mL. The phytochemical experiments on red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) show promise for improving the lipid profile.
