Abstract

Family plays a significant role on how children develop and a steady family that is steady (responsibility and functionality) is extremely important to the development of a child. A child's home environment should offer a favourable framework for healthy psychological wellbeing. Thus, this study investigated the impact of family dysfunction on the psychological wellbeing of pupils in inclusive schools in Lagos State. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and simple random sampling technique was used to select 216 respondents from 12 inclusive schools in Lagos State. Two questionnaires titled Family Dysfunction and Psychological Wellbeing Scales (PWBS) were used. Percentage analysis was used to answer the research questions and PPMC was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level. The study revealed that the level of family dysfunction among pupils in inclusive school in Lagos was relatively high, the state of psychological wellbeing of pupils in inclusive schools in Lagos was relatively low and there was significant negative impact of family dysfunction on psychological wellbeing of pupils in inclusive schools in Lagos State. The study concluded that social support (emotional support) should be highly encouraged by the school authorities to emotional support struggling pupils and their counterparts.

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to bring to light an adequate understanding of the concepts of "making waves," to capture the minds of parents, students, and other members of society, on how education and technology can help to excel, and to educate one on the negative effects of social vices on the environment. However, the benefits of education and technology to both individuals and society were examined as a catalyst for social and economic sustainability. Hence, education and technology have been unraveled as a medium for achieving sustainable development when youths strive for excellence in their academic pursuits and eschew vices. The paper looked at technology and its emergence in the twenty-first century, how to make waves through digitalisation, the importance of digital education in Nigerian schools, challenges to the digitalisation of education in Nigeria, and ways to strive for excellence. This paper suggested, among others, that government should sufficiently fund education from the primary to the high school levels. Drugs, sex abuse, cults, and other vices must be rejected by every member of the community. A decrease in the number of children who are not in school must also be ensured by the government at all levels of the nation, along with provisions for the necessary infrastructure, learning, and teaching tools.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are part of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) that aid students in problem-solving. Teachers have a responsibility to cultivate these skills by employing suitable learning models. The RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create) learning model offers an alternative approach for teachers to enhance student competencies. This study aimed to investigate the impact of a problem-solving-oriented RADEC approach through the colloidal topic on students' creative thinking skills. The research was conducted at a private high school in Cianjur Regency and involved 28 students from class XI. The pre-experimental method employed a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The findings revealed that this learning model effectively nurtured students' creative thinking skills. Students demonstrated significant improvements in various aspects of creative thinking, with percentages as follows: fluency (78.88%), flexibility (71.62%), elaboration (68.33%), originality (70.83%), and metaphorical thinking (61.11%). The pre-test and post-test scores indicated an increase in students' creative thinking skills, with an n-gain value of 0.5936, categorized as moderate. In summary, the problem-solving-oriented RADEC learning model proved effective in enhancing students' creative thinking skills in the context of colloidal material. This research has implications for teachers, urging them to consider implementing the RADEC model to foster the development of student's creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

In teaching and learning activities, it always includes three main activities namely planning, implementation and evaluation. The same thing happened with the teaching and learning process at SMP Negeri 6 Dumai. A teacher is required to plan, implement and evaluate learning, the purpose of this research is to prove scientifically whether continuous academic supervision can increase teacher competence in preparing syllabus and lesson plans. Syllabus and lesson plans are the preparation of a teacher when he wants to teach. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the analysis for the 2020/2021 school year at SMP Negeri 6 Dumai. Continuous academic supervision has been scientifically proven to be able to increase teacher competence in preparing syllabus and lesson plans at SMP Negeri 6 Dumai. This is proven by the increase in the number of good teacher syllabuses from 38% to 82% after academic supervision. In addition, the number of good quality lesson plans also increased from 34% to 82%. The academic supervision generally can increase teacher competence in compiling syllabus and lesson plans.

Abstract

Writing is one way to express ideas and ideas about what has been seen, heard or experienced. To be able to produce or express flanguage through writing is an ability that necessitates encoding processes, and writing is an active and productive linguistic activity.This research was carried out because of the low desire to write and the lack of knowledge about writing descriptive texts. The benefits that can be obtained from the use of media through YouTube, among others, the teacher will find it easier to convey learning materials in a more interesting way, avoid the lecture method in delivering material, can facilitate various types of children's learning methods, students will be more enthusiastic about participating in learning with In presenting videos, the teacher will more easily invite students to be involved in learning activities. the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using youtube media with the field trip method. The methodology of this investigation is experimental. This study employs a pre-experimental design known as the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Plan. The outcomes demonstrate an elevated dependence on Youtube media when composing descriptive texts using the field trip approach.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are skills students must have in the 21st century. These skills can improve analytical skills and make students think more carefully This study aims to determine the effect of circulation system e-module based on learning cycle 8e on high school students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental, which consists of 2 classes, namely XI IPA 1 as the experimental class with treatment using e-module circulation system based on learning cycle 8e and XI IPA 2 as the control class, which uses conventional learning. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant effect of the circulation system e-module based on learning cycle 8e on students' critical thinking skills, where in the control class the average posttest score was far below the experimental class, which was 55.5 and the experimental class average posttest score was 69.5. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, a significant value (2 tailed) was obtained of 0.003 (p<0.05). The use of circulation system e-module based on learning cycle 8e has a positive effect on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

In recent times, learners are required to have the skill of the 21st century, such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and technology used as the impact of a more digitized and globalized era. One of the teaching methods which equipped student’s skill needs is PBL (Project-Based Learning). PBL is also named the effective method to apply because students are asked to create their learning content as the implementation of student-centered learning. This teaching method is widely used at any educational level and could enhance students’ motivation. Thus, to determine the correlation between the PBL teaching method and students’ learning motivation, the researcher conducted a study of 67 students in 11th grade at SMA Panjura Malang that opts for a correlation method with a quantitative approach. The questionnaire was adopted and analyzed, it showed that there is a correlation between the PBL learning method and students’ learning motivation in ELT classes. The result was a medium positive relation which means that PBL could be an alternative recommended method to apply in ELT classes.

Abstract

Education is a learning activity that determines the success of achieving student learning outcomes in class. So, to achieve learning goals by increasing student learning outcomes, it is necessary to have a good and correct learning process with the help of facilities, good learning methods.This study aims to determine the effect of an interactive e-module based on kvisoft flipbook with the discovery learning model on arthropod material on student learning outcomes. This research uses development research (R&D) with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research reached the evaluation development stage. Phase testing for e-module development in the form of validation (media expert, material expert and pedagogic expert) and testpracticality and student response. The results of the validation analysis are in the very valid category. Practicality is in the very practical category used in learning, and student responses are in the very good category and are well received by students in learning.

Abstract

Mastering algebraic concepts and skills has been one of the demands in the Indonesian curriculum for the past few decades. Teaching algebraic concepts and skills is one of the materials taught from the junior high school to university level. Therefore, it is mandatory for pre service mathematics teacher students to master and even fluently use algebraic concepts in order to develop students' algebraic thinking skills. Thus, this study aims to understand and obtain a description of students' algebraic thinking abilities and misconceptions in solving problems. This research using descriptive qualitative. Analysis was conducted using tests and in-depth interviews with students who had taken linear algebra courses in semester 3 of the Mathematics Education Study Program at private university in NTT. Student’s algebraic thinking skills in solving problems were analyzed using Kieran's (2004) indicators consisting of: generational activities, transformational activities, and global meta-level activities. The results of the research show that…. In generational activities, students in the low, medium, and high categories have misconceptions. In transformational activities and global meta-level activities, misconceptions are only carried out by low category students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) to increase student motivation in accounting material for class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru majoring in Accounting and Financial Institutions. This development research uses the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation . Data collection techniques used interviews, LKPD validation instruments and materials, learning motivation instruments and student response instruments. Data analysis techniques used LKPD expert validation sheets and material experts. The results showed that the feasibility value of LKPD experts got an average score of 97 in the very decent category. As for the feasibility value of material experts, it gets an average score of 92 with a very decent category. Student responses showed 80.5 in the very useful category and the teacher's opinion stated that it was useful. This is also shown from the learning motivation of students increased with significance = 0.000 less than the 0.05 significance level. Based on expert assessments and student learning motivation after using the liveworksheets site-assisted LKPD it can be shown that the liveworksheets site-assisted LKPD that has been developed in general can be declared feasible to use.
