Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to know the total Coliform bacteria and the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria in black grass jelly sold around the campus of Universitas Riau,as well as to know the potential of the research results to be used as worksheet design on eubacteria concept of the first year students in senior high school. The study was conducted at the microbiology laboratory of medicine faculty and the Biology Education Campus, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Riau. The sample used was black grass jelly sold bybeverage traders around the Riau University campus with a purposive random sampling method based on predetermined criteria.The sample used was black grass jelly which is sold by street drink vendors around Universitas Riau area. The test of Escherichia coli (Coliform) bacteria in black grass jelly used Most Probable Number (MPN) method with contains 3 test stages, namely Presumtive Test,Confirmation Test, Complete Test by using different growth media and incubated at 37oC for 2x24 hours. The results showed 8of the 8 samples tested did not meet the microbial contamination requirements and there were Escherichia coli bacteria in the 3 samples studied.The highest total Coliform bacteria was found in sample B in location 2 (Bangau Sakti street), while the lowest total Coliform was found in sample A in location 2 (Bangau Sakti street) and sample A in location 3 (HR Subrantas street). All samples tested had a total Coliform that exceeded the food safety requirements set by BPOM RI. there were Escherichia coli bacteria in the 3 samples studied. Then, this results can be used as worksheet design (LKPD) on the eubacteria concept of the first yearstudents in senior high school.Key Words:Black Grass Jelly, Coliform, Escherichia Coli, MPN

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of composting on planting media with the addition of EM-4 to the growth of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) and produce learning resources in the form of learning videos in class XII high school biotechnology material. This research was conducted at the Biology Mushroom House Laboratory of Biology Education FKIP UNRI in May-December 2019. This research was carried out in 2 stages: the experimental stage: the influence of the duration of composting on planting media with the addition of EM-4 to the growth of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) and the stages learning resources design: analysis of the potential and development of instructional video designs from the results of research. The study used an experimental method with 2 factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters in this study are the mycelium growth rate, analysis of the number of fruit bodies, wet weight, dry weight and moisture content. The duration of composting for 5 days with the addition of EM-4 as much as 10 ml/baglog (P2E2) is the best treatment and based on the analysis of the potential results of the study can be used as a video design of biotechnology learning materials for class XII high school.Key Words: Length of Composting, EM-4, Growth of Oyster Mushrooms, Learning Video

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine total probiotic bacteria of red rice yoghurt with various variations of sucrose and the design of student worksheet (LKPD) of senior high school grade XII. This research was carried out in the Biology Education Laboratory FKIP UNRI in April-mei 2019. This research was conducted in two stages, namely the experimental stage: study of total probiotic of red rice yoghurt and the design phase of LKPD: analysis of potential and development of student worksheet. The research used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 10 treatments and 3 replications. The parameter in this study is Total Plate Count (TPC), pH value, Lactic acid. The best combination of treatment is found in sucrose 12% and skim milk. Whilw based on the analysis of potential results of the study can be used as a Student Worksheet (LKPD) material for biology grade XII in Senior High School.Key Words: Fermentation of Red Rice Yoghurt, Full Cream Milk. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to study students' perceptions of the application of the Discovery Learning model in class XI MIA2 MAN 1 Pekanbaru. The research was carried out from August until October 2019. Parameter of this research is student's perception toward applying Discovery Learning model with 6 indicators that are: attention, expectation, motivation, need, value system, and personality type. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 23.00 for windows. The results of the data analysis showed that students' perceptions of attention indicators received a value of 3.88, an expectation indicator of 3.83, a motivational indicator of 3.76, a need indicator of 3.8, a system indicator of a value of 3.85, and a personality indicator of 3.76. Overall students' perceptions of the application of the Discovery Learning model are good with a score of 3.81.Key Words: Perception, Discovery Learning model

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the manufacture of bioplastics based ondurian seed starch and produce module designs on biotechnology materials in class XIISMA. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of FKIP andthe Chemistry Laboratory of FMIPA UNRI from April to August 2019. This researchwas carried out in 2 stages: the experimental stage: the making of bioplastics fromdurian seed starch and the module design stage: an analysis of the potential of moduledesign in class XII biotechnology material High school. This study used anexperimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5treatments and 3 replications. The parameter in this study is the absorption ofbioplastic water. Based on the results of Analysis of Variance (ANAVA) at 5% levelshowed the making of bioplastics based on durian seed starch with the addition ofgelatin can reduce the absorption of bioplastic water (13.49%)). Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the potential of poster design in class X bacterial high school learning material. This research was conducted at the Binawidya Riau University in February-March 2020. This research was conducted in 2 stages: the experimental stage and the second stage is Poster Design that is analysis of the potential development of high school learning media Bacteria class X material. The study used an experimental method of descriptive qualitative research design. Based on the potential analysis, it was found that endophytic bacteria isolated from Laban plants can be used as a poster design of class X bacterial material for SMA 3.5 KD.Key Words: Poster, Bacteria

Abstract

Abstract: Saga seeds have the potential to be used as a basis for making tempe. Information and knowledge about conventional biotechnology in making tempewith saga seed raw materials to students can be conveyed through learning resources in the form of booklets. This study aims to produce a design booklet for conventional biotechnology materials for grade XII high schools. The study was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of the Teaching and Education Faculty of the University of Riau, the Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of the University of Riau in June 2019 to August 2019. This study used the ADDIE model, namely the Analyze and Design stages. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the presence of Coliform bacteria in traditional cake that are sold at Simpang Baru Market in Tampan District, Pekanbaru from April 2019 to November 2019. This research is an experimental study consisting of research on Coliform bacteria in the Laboratory and the module design. The research samples were taken by random purposive sampling method which was taken each of 2 samples from 8 traditional cake traders in Simpang Baru market in Tampan District, Pekanbaru based on predetermined criterias. Coliform bacteria were tested by the Most Probable Number (MPN) method which consisted of three stages, which were persumtive test, confirmative test and completed test using different growing media and incubated at 37oC for 2x24 hours. The results were from 16 samples, the highest MPN Index Value was ongol-ongol at location 8 which has >979 cells / 100 ml and the lowest was ongol-ongol at location 3 and ubi gula at location 6 was 17 cells / 100, and from 16 samples in total, 14 samples contained Coliform bacteria from the genus Enterobacter. The results of the study can be used as an example of the learning module of the concept of Eubacteria in High School Biology Subjects in Class X.Key Words: Coliform, Kue Basah, Module Design

Abstract

Abstract: This study tried to determine the growth of bacteria Bacillus cereus Strain IMB-10 at different pH concentrations in degrading diesel fuel as a poster’s media design for Biology subject in high school. Research was carried out in FKIP PMIPA laboratory, Riau University. As for the TPH testing, it was conducted in the solid waste laboratory and B3 Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Bandung Institute of Teknology. This research was conducted in 2 stages, namely research on the growth of the bacteria Bacillus cereus Strain IMB-10 at different pH in degrading diesel fuel and the stage of potential analysis and design of poster as a learning media from the research results. This research was conducted in November 2019 - June 2020. The study was designed with a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replication groups. The media used were SMSS media with the addition of variations in pH 6.5, pH 7.0, pH 7.5, which added 5% diesel fuel and the bacteria Bacillus cereus strain IMB-10. The test parameter was the OD growth of Bacillus cereus bacteria Strain IMB-10 which was seen using a spectrophotometer for 6 days measuring. Meanwhile in measuring the degradation rate (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon) TPH of diesel fuel the Gravimetric method used. Based on the research, it was found that pH 7.0 was the best pH for the growth of Bacillus cereus bacteria Strain IMB-10 with a bacterial growth OD of 5.8 A on day 5 and a degradation rate of diesel fuel of 26.95%. Based on the analysis of the potential results of experimental research, it can be used as a learning media design for Biology posters on bacteria theory in class X Senior High School. Abstract

The obstacle faced in the learning process so far is the low interest in student learning. Many factors affect interest in learning, one of which is the lack of variety of teaching materials or learning media used by teachers in schools. The use of augmented reality (AR) in education is an important topic of research although its use is still in its infancy. The purpose of this research is to develop learning media, AR-based e-magazine to increase students' interest in learning high school students, on the material of the digestive system. The development of the e-magazine is carried out using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The parameters in this study are the quality of the e-magazine and interest in learning. Testing interest in learning is done using an interest questionnaire given to students for the control class consisting of 36 students and the experimental class consisting of 36 students. The results of the development of AR-based e-magazines are relatively good. This can be seen from the validation results with a very valid category. Based on the didactic aspect, a score of 3.82 was obtained in the very valid category, the constructive aspect was 3.85 in the very valid category and the technical aspect was 3.78 in the very valid category. The results showed that the use of AR-based e-magazines increased interest in learning. Interest in learning obtained a score of 0.342 in the high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of AR-based e-magazines as digital learning media can be used in the learning process.Â
