Abstract

This study aims to produce an online learning evaluation instrument that is considered feasible by material experts, evaluation experts and through item analysis and user response questionnaires. This research was conducted with a 4D development model. The instruments used in this study were the material expert's feasibility assessment sheet, evaluation expert, item analysis and user response questionnaires, namely lecturers and students. The data analysis in this study used a rating scale and the item analysis used the product-moment, Kuder-Richardson, the discrimination power and the difficulty level of the questions. Through the item analysis of the 25 questions selected 10 questions that meet the discrimination power,difficulty level, validation and reliability. The reliability coefficient is 0.851 which is classified as high reliability. Meanwhile, the evaluation of material experts was 85.4%, expert evaluation was 88%, student response was 90.7% and lecturers were 90%. Based on the feasibility content, the overall learning evaluation instrument using the quizizz application is declared feasible.

Abstract

Rapid determination of toxicity based on changes in the bioluminescent signal of marine bacterium Aliivibrio fischeri (A. fischeri) to evaluate toxicity of Ag(I) has been successfully developed. Assessment of toxicity was designed using inhibition of bioluminescent signal from A. fischeri bacteria, which was exposed with toxic material of Ag(I). This metal ion was utilized as a model of toxic material to evaluate the effects of cytotoxicity on bacteria cell. Measurement of bioluminescent were taken based on differences in bacterial cell signals before and after exposure to Ag(I) ion at an emission wavelength of 488±2 nm. The concentration of bacterial cell was used to assess the toxicity of Ag(I) at optical density (OD600 nm) of 0.78 Abs. The results found that the linear response of Ag toxicity was in the range of 0.05–10 mg/L, with EC50% of 8.42 mg/L for 4 minutes. The repeatability value within the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 2.5-4.7% (n=8).  The results demonstrated that the marine bacteria of A. fischeri have good potential to evaluate toxicity of toxic material in environmental samples. Penentuan cepat toksisitas berdasarkan perubahan sinyal bioluminesen bakteri laut Aliivibrio fischeri (A. fischeri) untuk mengevaluasi toksisitas logam perak (Ag(I)) telah sukses dikembangkan. Penilaian toksisitas didesain berdasarkan penghambatan sinyal bioluminesen bakteri A. fischeri oleh bahan toksik. Ion logam Ag(I) digunakan sebagai model bahan toksik untuk menilai efek sitotiksisitas pada sel bakteri. Pengukuran bioluminesen diambil berdasarkan perbedaan sinyal sel bakteri sebelum dan sesudah diekspos pada ion logam Ag(I) pada panjang gelombang emisi 488±2 nm. Konsentrasi sel bakteri yang digunakan untuk menilai toksisitas Ag(I) pada optikal densitas 600 (OD 600 nm) = 0.78 Abs.  Hasil kajian ditemukan bahwa respons linear toksisitas Ag(I) pada rentang 0.05–10 mg/L, dengan nilai EC50% sebesar 8.42 mg/L pada waktu respons 4 menit dan nilai repeatibilitas toksisitas diperoleh sebesar 2.5-4.7 % RSD (relatif standar deviasi, n=8). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa bakteri laut A. fischeri memiliki potensi yang baik untuk menilai toksisitas bahan toksik dalam sampel lingkungan.

Abstract

Peran mikroba endofit dalam memproduksi metabolit sekunder dengan kualitas yang hampir sama dengan tanaman aslinya sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bakteri endofit yang terdapat didalam jaringan kulit batang Laban (Vitex pubescens Vahl) serta kemampuannya untuk memproduksi metabolit bioaktif yang mempunyai aktivitas sitotoksik. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan teknik inokulasi langsung dengan jalan meletakkan sampel tanaman di atas permukaan Nutrient Agar (NA). Metoda Micro tetrazolium (MTT) digunakan untuk menetapkan aktivitas sitotoksik dari ekstrak etilasetat. Bakteri endofit yang berhasil diisolasi sebanyak 3 isolat yaitu Bakteri-2A, Bakteri -3B dan Bakteri-6C. Berdasarkan hasil penapisan dari 3 isolat tersebut didapatkan dua bakteri yang memiliki aktivitas potensial yang baik terhadap sel serviks (HeLa) yaitu isolat Bakteri – 6C (IC50 = 82.54 µg/mL) dan Bakteri-2A (IC50 = 297.09 µg/mL). Isolat yang menunjukkan aktivitas sitotoksik terbesar adalah isolat Bakteri-6C sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa isolat tersebut merupakan isolat yang paling potensial sebagai penghasil senyawa antikanker.

Abstract

Berita Covid-19 telah menggemparkan dunia tak terkecuali Indonesia, yang tentunya berdampak terhadap semua aspek kehidupan salah satunya bidang pendidikan. Sistem pembelajaran di sekolah kini dialihkan menjadi Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ). Keberhasilan pembelajaran sangat ditentukan oleh model pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Pengintegrasian antara pembelajaran dan teknologi merupakan suatu inovasi yang dapat dihadirkan sebagai solusi PJJ yang menarik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif dengan menyebar angket tertutup dalam bentuk google form. Teknik Analisa data yang digunakan adalah Teknik analisis isi dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Hasil angket dianalisis berdasarkan jawaban 45 responden penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMAN Pintar Provinsi Riau.berdasarkan analisis data, penggunaan YouTube dalam model Project Based Learning dinilai sangat menarik dan membantu peserta didik untuk menuangkan kreativitas dalam membuat video untuk diupload. Konsep pembelajaran ini tetap dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kreativitas ketika keadaan sudah kembali normal.

Abstract

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, learning systems that still use paper based or face to face learning must be transformed into learning activities based on information and communication technology (ICT). A teacher must be able to use ICT as a tool to make the learning process more interesting, effective and efficient. The purpose of this activity is to provide technical guidance for teachers of the Bangkinang Cactus Cluster Elementary School - Kampar Regency in the form of introducing ICT concepts in schools, using interactive learning applications, and designing active learning scenarios through online learning according to the subjects taught. The Online-Based Active Learning Design Training activity was held in Kampar Regency. The teachers who are members of the Cactus Cluster consist of teachers from 6 elementary schools. The implementation stage begins with a pretest, which aims to determine the participants' initial knowledge. This activity fosters motivation for teachers to design classroom learning activities using active learning methods. Teachers obtain information and are also guided in designing active learning scenarios, designing Productive, Imaginative and open-ended questions and also designing worksheets and assessment sheets.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Distance Learning (PJJ) online science teacher candidate students in Pekanbaru City during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research is a survey research with the type of public opinion survey. Sampling was taken through purposive sampling method. The data collected is ordinal data via e-questionnaire (google form), through a summative response scale using a modified Likert scale with 4 answer choices. The results showed that the form of learning during the pandemic using various dominant applications were Google Meet (22.47%), Google Classroom (17.95%), Whatsapp (15.56%), and Schoology (11.70%). Online PJJ is not effectively carried out based on the availability of infrastructure, convenience and accessibility, difficulty in lecture materials, time, increased competence, and variety of courses. The implementation of PJJ is in accordance with the learning objectives because lecturers vary the use of applications, interactions run smoothly, and lecturers motivate students. The hopes of students for online PJJ are that there is a quota subsidy, the existence of priority courses, a willingness to explore various applications and the existence of sustainability after the pandemic. The cause of online PJJ is not effective is because it is not supported by several things, namely changes in the mindset and motivation of the implementers (lecturers and students), limited infrastructure such as internet networks, tools (multitasking laptops / devices), and the readiness of institutional technology (platform and management learning. system, systematic and comprehensive learning planning, effective and efficient implementation (easily accessible and learned), learning culture, e-learning pedagogy, and academic atmosphere, technical training and user level of mastery, and time management.Keyword: science pre-service teacher, pandemic covid-19, distance learning ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) online mahasiswa calon guru IPA di Kota Pekanbaru pada masa Pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan jenis public opinion survey. Pengambilan sampel melalui metode purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data ordinal melalui e-kuesioner (google form), melalaui summative response scale dengan menggunakan skala Likert yang dimodifikasi dengan 4 pilihan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bentuk pembelajaran selama pandemi menggunakan berbagai aplikasi yang dominan adalah Google Meet (22,47%), Google Classroom (17,95%), Whatsapp (15,56%), dan Schoology (11,70%). PJJ online tidak efektif dilakukan berdasarkan ketersediaan sarana prasarana, kemudahan dan aksesibiltas, kesukaran materi perkuliahan, waktu, peningkatan kompetensi, dan ragam matakuliah. Pelaksanaan PJJ sudah sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran karena dosen memvariasikan penggunaan aplikasi, interaksi berjalan dengan lancar, dan dosen memotivasi mahasiswa. Harapan mahasiswa terhadap PJJ online adalah adanya subsidi kuota, adanya prioritas matakuliah, kemauan mendalami berbagai aplikasi dan adanya keberlanjutan setelah pandemi. Penyebab PJJ online tidak efektif adalah karena tidak disupport oleh beberapa hal, yaitu perubahan mindset dan motivasi pelaksana (dosen dan mahasiswa), keterbatasan sarana prasarana seperti jaringan internet, tools (laptop/gawai yang multitasking), dan kesiapan teknologi institusi (platform dan learning manajemen system, perencanaan pembelajaran yang sistematis dan komprehensif, pelaksanaan yang efektif dan efisien (mudah diakses dan dipelajari), budaya belajar, pedagogi         e-learning, dan atmosfer akademik, pelatihan teknis dan tingkat penguasaan pengguna, dan manajemen waktu.Kata kunci: mahasiswa calon guru IPA, pandemi Covid-19, pembelajaran jarak jauh (online).

Abstract

Communication skills are one of the skills needed by humans in the 21st century. Mathematical communication skills are very important for every student to have, this is useful so that students can understand the problems in science learning given and students are able to express their ideas in solving these problems. This study aims to describe the level of students' written communication skills in science learning. The type of research used is survey research. The sample of this research was 53 respondents of class VIII MTsN 4 Bengkalis. Data collection were techniques in the form of giving a test totaling 10 questions. The questions used refer to 4 aspects of communication skills, namely, 1) Changing the form of data presentation, 2) The accuracy of the use of notation, vocabulary, sketches, graphs, tables, and pictures, 3) The suitability of writing problem-solving steps, 4) Making conclusions. The average percentage of students' written communication skills for each aspect and each indicator is; 1) 72,96 for indicators changing the presentation of data, 2) 44,03 for indicators using graphs, tables, and diagrams, 3) 24,29 for indicators explaining events or experimental results and 4) 47,88 for concluding. In all aspects of written communication, the average score obtained is 47.29, which is included in the poor category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze about: forms of e-learning-based distance learning activities carried out at the Department of Social Studies FKIP Riau. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The data to be collected is ordinal data, which comes from the results of e-questionnaires(google form). The data collected is summative response scale,using a modified Likert scale with 3 answer options. Student responses are organized based on 3 levels of Likert Scale: 1 = Yes; 2 = No; 3 = Hesitation. The data obtained is then analyzed through a descriptive statistical analysis of percentages. The results showed that the form of implementation of distance learning activities carried out in the department of Social Sciences FKIP Riau University refers to the indicators of distance learning, namely: clear learning objectives, relevant to the needs, quality of education, efficient and effectiveness of the program, equality and expansion of learning opportunities, independence, integration and sustainability.

Abstract

The lack of communication skills in the learning of chemistry can negatively impact students' understanding of reduction-oxidation (redox) reactions. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the implementation of the discovery learning model on students' communication skills related to redox reactions. A quasi-experimental research design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design was employed. The research participants were students of class X MIPA 1 (experimental class) and class X MIPA 2 (control class) from SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan. The instrument used was a communication skills test sheet comprising five descriptive questions. The results indicated that 1) the implementation of the discovery learning model was rated as very good for each stage; 2) the writing communication skills of the experimental class were superior to those of the control class. In conclusion, the discovery learning model is an effective approach in enhancing students' communication skills on the subject of redox reactions in class X MIPA at SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan.

Abstract

Since the corona virus disease (Covid-19) was found in patients in Wuhan, China and this virus has shown rapid transmission and has become a worldwide epidemic. As a result, online learning is applied to all universities in Indonesia by using various applications. This work is aimed for analyzing the implementation of online learning during the Covid -19 pandemic and is directed for investigating the form, implementation and expectations of students in online learning. This research was involved 231 samples consisting of all chemistry education student at Universities in Riau. The data directly collected through e-questionnaire using google form. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively and the interview data in the form of short questions were analyzed qualitatively. All the obtained data were carfully described in descriptive form. Basid oh the analysis, it was found that the type of online learning was dominated by using google classroom and zoom meeting, while the type of online learning was popularly used by student in the form of google classroom. Methods and obstacles in online learning were found using discussion approaches and internet networks, respectively. Meanwhile, the analysis of implementation and expectations in online learning were found the student responses with both in the agreed category with a value of more than 50%. Based on the data findings, the students of chemistry education have applied online learning, even though there are still many obstacles faced in online learning
