Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought ease of access to information and communication, but on the other hand, it has also given rise to the phenomenon of scroll culture, a habit of excessively browsing social media without a clear purpose. This behavior can reduce focus on learning, increase social anxiety, and impair students' psychological well-being. This community service activity aims to empower students through a digital well-being counseling program focused on strengthening self-awareness and emotional regulation in digital media use. The implementation method included an initial digital behavior assessment, a digital well-being counseling workshop, and individual and group mentoring using emotional regulation theory. This program was conducted over three months, involving students from various study programs. The materials provided included: (1) understanding the concept of digital well-being, (2) strategies for managing emotions in digital activities, and (3) applying mindful scrolling techniques to control the duration and quality of social media interactions. The results of the activity showed increased student awareness of the importance of digital balance and a decrease in the frequency of unproductive scrolling. Furthermore, students demonstrated improved abilities in recognizing emotions, managing online time, and using social media for self-development. This activity is expected to serve as a model of good practice for higher education institutions in developing counseling services that are adaptive to digital challenges and oriented towards student mental well-being.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the Indonesian economy; however, they continue to face various challenges, particularly in the utilization of digital technology for marketing and business development. Most MSME actors in Brebek Village, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency still rely on traditional marketing methods, resulting in limited competitiveness and market reach. This community service activity aimed to empower MSME actors through the utilization of digital technology to enhance business promotion, competitiveness, and income. The method employed was the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes the utilization of local assets and community potential. The activity was conducted over two days and included observation, interviews, digital literacy education, and mentoring on the creation of promotional content using the Canva application, as well as the utilization of social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp. The results indicate an improvement in the understanding and skills of MSME actors in using digital technology for business promotion. MSME participants were able to independently create promotional posters and began utilizing social media to reach a wider market. This activity had a positive impact on increasing business visibility and the potential for increased MSME sales. Nevertheless, limitations related to time, devices, and internet access remain challenges that need to be addressed in future implementations. Overall, this activity contributes to enhancing the digital readiness of MSMEs and supports the strengthening of the local economy in Brebek Village.

Abstract

The ability to read and write the Qur'an is a basic competency that students must have from an early age as a foundation for developing religious character. However, many students at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) still experience difficulties in reading the Qur'an according to the rules of tajwid and writing the hijaiyah letters correctly. This community service activity aims to improve the reading and writing skills of the Qur'an of students at the At-Taqwa TPQ in Penjaringan Village, Rungkut District, through a structured and interactive training program. The method used is the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach by utilizing local potential, involving students, TPQ teachers, students, and community support. The training was carried out for two days, including observation, material delivery, direct practice, and intensive mentoring. The results of the activity showed an increase in the students' ability to read the Qur'an with more precise makharijul huruf and tajwid as well as better ability to write the hijaiyah letters. The percentage of students who experienced difficulties in reading and writing the Qur'an decreased from around 60% to 30% after the training. In addition to improving skills, this activity also increases students' motivation to learn and parental involvement in Quranic education. This program is expected to serve as a model for the sustainable development of Quranic learning at TPQ (Islamic boarding schools) to strengthen Quranic literacy and Islamic values ​​in the community

Abstract

Santri development in Qur’anic learning, particularly in mastering tajwid, is essential to ensure accurate and proper recitation in accordance with the principles of tartil. However, many santri are able to read the Qur’an fluently without having sufficient understanding of tajwid rules. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) aimed to improve santri’s knowledge and understanding of tajwid at Rumah Tahfidz Al-Qur’an (RTQ) Bidayatun Nasyi’in, Waru, Sidoarjo. The program employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which involved planning, action, and evaluation stages conducted collaboratively. The activities were carried out for 14 days, from December 9 to December 22, 2025, through strengthening tajwid theory, practicing Qur’anic recitation with tartil, direct mentoring by teachers, and routine evaluations. The results indicated an improvement in santri’s understanding of makharijul huruf and recitation rules, as well as their ability to apply tajwid principles correctly in reading the Qur’an. Furthermore, the program enhanced active participation, learning discipline, and reinforced social and religious values within the RTQ environment. Therefore, santri development based on the PAR approach proved to be effective and transformative in improving the quality of Qur’anic recitation and tajwid comprehension in a sustainable manner.
