Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven transformation across various sectors, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Sentra Batik Giriloyo, as one of the traditional batik centers in Yogyakarta, faces challenges in maintaining its existence amid modern market competition. Limited understanding and application of e-commerce and digital payment systems have become major obstacles to enhancing the competitiveness and purchasing power of the community toward local batik products. This community service program aims to enhance the artisans’ capacity in producing batik within a specific period, including improving the efficiency of the batik-making process, ensuring the availability of raw materials, and optimizing tools and production techniques. It also focuses on utilizing e-commerce platforms and digital payment systems to expand the market and promote local economic growth. The program partners are batik artisans in the Giriloyo area, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency. The methods employed include training, technical assistance, and direct evaluation of implementation. The results of the program indicate that the partners are able to understand the benefits of using e-commerce, manage online stores independently, and utilize digital payment systems such as QRIS and digital wallets. Additionally, the increase in online transactions reflects a rise in consumer purchasing interest. This program has positively impacted the improvement of digital literacy among MSMEs and the purchasing power of the community toward culturally-based local products.

Abstract

Character education in elementary schools remains a challenge, particularly with regard to students’ low level of social awareness, the emergence of bullying behavior, and the suboptimal internalization of values such as empathy and tolerance. These conditions indicate limitations in pedagogical approaches to character education that have not yet systematically engaged students in value reflection processes. This community service program aimed to enhance the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in implementing character education based on the Value Clarification Technique (VCT). The program was conducted in Sambirejo Village, Semarang Regency, involving 16 teachers from two elementary schools as partner institutions. The service employed a participatory training and mentoring approach, including needs analysis, VCT workshops, mentoring during classroom implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests of teachers’ understanding, observations of instructional practices, and reflective mentoring notes, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding of VCT concepts and implementation steps, changes in instructional practices toward more dialogical and reflective learning, and improvements in classroom dynamics characterized by increased empathy, mutual respect, and students’ prosocial behavior. These findings demonstrate that VCT-based mentoring is effective in strengthening character education in elementary schools and contributes to the development of a child-friendly and character-oriented school culture.

Abstract

Maternal mortality in Indonesia remains at 140 per 100,000 live births in 2023, indicating the ongoing need to strengthen promotive and preventive efforts for pregnant women. Limited implementation of Continuity of Care (CoC), inadequate physical activity, and suboptimal nutritional intake contribute to increased maternal health risks. This community service activity aimed to improve maternal health through the YOGITA Program (Yoga Ibu Tangguh & Asupan Gizi Tepat), which is based on a Continuity of Care approach. The program methods included CoC-based mentoring, prenatal yoga classes, and nutritional education delivered to 25 pregnant women in their second and third trimesters within the working area of Kedungwungu Primary Health Center. Data were collected using knowledge questionnaires, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) measurements, hemoglobin level assessments, as well as observations and brief interviews conducted before and after the intervention. The results demonstrated an improvement in maternal knowledge, with the proportion of participants in the “good” category increasing from 76% to 92% following the intervention. Maternal nutritional status was predominantly classified as good, as indicated by normal MUAC in 88% of participants and non-anemic status in 92%. In addition, participants reported improved physical fitness, relaxation, and readiness for childbirth. Program outputs included enhanced maternal capacity, the development of nutritional education posters, and a community-based prenatal yoga class model. This activity contributes to strengthening promotive maternal health efforts through a holistic and sustainable approach and has the potential to be replicated in other primary health care settings.

Abstract

The program aims to foster students’ eco-theological awareness through tree-planting activities as a form of responsibility toward God’s creation, while also creating a green, healthy, and spiritually enriched school environment. The activity took place at Al-Faqih Foundation Kauditan, North Minahasa, on September 18, 2025, involving the foundation board, school leaders, teachers, and students in a spirit of collaboration to care for the environment. The program included several stages: planning, socialization and education, tree planting, as well as evaluation and reflection to strengthen understanding and participation among all stakeholders. The results showed a significant increase in environmental awareness, with about 80% of students actively participating in the planting activities and 90% of teachers supporting the ongoing initiatives. Through the planting of 75 tree seedlings around the school area, the learning atmosphere has become greener, fresher, and more enriched with educational and spiritual values. This program is designed to be sustainable, with regular tree maintenance and continued student involvement in environmental activities to nurture spiritual awareness and ecological responsibility as part of daily school life.
