Abstract

Multicultural education was once a new concept in education. Arguments on the content of multicultural education were evolving throughout the history of education. As many countries in the world, the United States experienced challenges in integrating culture into the curriculum. Pros and cons have created different views on providing multicultural education. There were concerns about losing the country identity when considering the diverse cultures into the curriculum. In fact, culturally responsive classroom builds a connection between students and the world. It develops students’ skills to adapt and survive in the diverse and changing world. As we understand the importance of multicultural education, this paper will trace the world’s culture in the US elementary school students’ literature through literature research of several references. The questions raised were: ‘How was the history of multicultural education in the US? How did the history of multicultural education in the US affect the elementary school curriculum? How does the multicultural education affect the elementary school literature? Does elementary school literature contain and reflect the knowledge and values of various world’s cultures? How is the implementation of multicultural education in the elementary school?’ The results of the discussion were based on the combined references used in this research.

Abstract

Language acquisition starts in childhood. Oral language is the initial language to learn. Within it, lies norms to make language functional. Children start to function the language through communication. Communication provides an identity that shapes them into different settings. As language acquisition is unique and individual, experts have been studying to interpret it. There are at least three theorists of language acquisition. They are a behaviorist, innatist, and interactionist. Experts are debating on which theory provides the most appropriate approaches for the students. The discussion will compare innatist and interactionist approaches to the students’ first and second language acquisition. It describes how the educational program would be like when using innatist and interactionist learning approaches. There are also critiques on innatist and interactionist approaches. A suggestion is provided to strategically integrate both approaches to understand language acquisition process in both first and second language students.

Abstract

Sexuality education for children school base is foundation important in to form attitudes, behaviors, and skills taking healthy decision related relationships and boundaries personal. Individual capable make right decision, develop draft positive self and relationships and prevent impact negative to health sexual. The purpose of study this is for to explore room scope material that needs to be strengthened in give understanding sexuality education and determining factors the success of the sexuality education program for child age Elementary School. Review literature systematic used in study this, is done use framework PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) work, explores practice based on evidence, effectiveness, and challenges in implementation of educational programs sexuality for child Age 6–12 years. Procedure this PRISMA research done through four steps namely identification, screening, eligibility and inclusion. At this stage identification done search text through three databases namely Science Direct, Taylor and Francis and Eric.ed.gov. and obtained results 8 matching articles with criteria. The result study this that room scope in carry out sexuality education for children need notice environment inclusive and participatory active. Effective sexuality education must create a stigma - free and inviting environment participation active from students, need designed with to discuss Topic sensitive in a way open and safe, at the same time overcoming the shame and stigma that often accompanies stick to the topic sexual. Education based on family need done with collaborative between schools and parents, emphasizing importance communication between parents and children related protection self and personal boundaries. The factors that influence the success of sexuality education is teacher perception, age, gender, and culture as well as the necessary delivery strategies customized with development child age school base.

Abstract

This systematic review analyzes the impact of bullying on victims and perpetrators among elementary school students. This study used inclusion and exclusion criteria to filter relevant articles published between 2022 and 2024. Articles were obtained from two databases, Taylor & Francis and ScienceDirect, with the help of Boolean operators according to keywords. The study selection process followed the PRISMA method which involved four stages: identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Of the total 6,527 articles identified, five articles met the inclusion criteria. Data synthesis was carried out qualitatively through thematic analysis. This review included five studies with a total sample of more than 97,000 participants from Spain, China, the United States, South Korea, and the Netherlands. The main results showed that bullying behavior significantly increased the risk of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. In addition, bullies also experience long-term impacts, including behavioral and academic problems and the risk of criminality in adulthood. Limitations of this study include the use of a cross-sectional design, potential reporting bias, and lack of representation in cultural and long-term contexts. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies, more diverse instruments, and populations. These findings underscore the importance of comprehensive bullying prevention programs and targeted psychological interventions to address both the immediate and long-term impacts of bullying._____________________________________________________________Tinjauan sistematis ini menganalisis dampak bullying terhadap korban dan pelaku di kalangan siswa Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi untuk menyaring artikel relevan yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2022 hingga 2024. Artikel diperoleh dari dua data base, Taylor & Francis dan ScienceDirect, dengan bantuan operator Boolean sesuai kata kunci. Proses seleksi studi mengikuti metode PRISMA yang melibatkan empat tahap: identifikasi, penyaringan, kelayakan, dan inklusi. Dari total 6.527 artikel yang diidentifikasi, lima artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Sintesis data dilakukan secara kualitatif melalui analisis tematik. Tinjauan ini mencakup lima studi dengan total sampel lebih dari 97.000 partisipan dari Spanyol, Tiongkok, Amerika Serikat, Korea Selatan, dan Belanda. Hasil utama menunjukkan bahwa perilaku bullying secara signifikan meningkatkan risiko kecemasan, depresi, dan ide bunuh diri. Selain itu, pelaku bullying juga mengalami dampak jangka panjang, termasuk masalah perilaku dan akademik serta risiko kriminalitas di usia dewasa. Keterbatasan penelitian ini mencakup penggunaan desain cross-sectional, potensi laporan yang bias, dan kurangnya representasi dalam konteks budaya serta jangka panjang. Penelitian di masa depan diharapkan berfokus pada studi longitudinal, instrumen dan populasi yang lebih beragam. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya program pencegahan bullying yang komprehensif dan intervensi psikologis yang terarah untuk mengatasi dampak langsung maupun jangka panjang dari bullying.

Abstract

The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka (KM) at Imam Bonjol Elementary School Cluster, Salatiga, requires teachers with supporting competencies. The aim of this community service activity is to integrate Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Project Based Learning (PJBL) with Social Emotional Learning (PSE) so that it can improve teacher's competencies. The team provided community service activities included training, strengthening, and mentoring to develop PBL and PJBL learning integrated with PSE mindfulness in the implementation of KM. The community service activities used PALS (Participatory Action and Learning System) method. Partner teachers participated in socialization, training, assistance in development, and institutionalization on PBL and PJBL integration with PSE mindfulness. The results showed that 100% of teachers agreed that mindfulness was important to be applied in classroom learning and 83.33% of teachers agreed that mindfulness could be applied individually by teachers or students. The teachers' understanding on the meaning of mindfulness reached 100%. Meanwhile, the teachers' understanding on examples of mindfulness practices both individually and integrated into learning, especially in PBL and PJBL learning, reached 75%. The influence of mindfulness practices related to teacher duties was 89.49%, meaning that it was influential significantly. So that this mindfulness practice can have a positive effect on teachers both in their personal lives and in their duties as teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the protective factors against cyberbullying in Indonesian context. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by searching for relevant articles through the Science Direct and Google Scholar databases. After implementing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analytics (PRISMA), six articles were obtained according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results show that protective factors against cyberbullying can be internal or external. Positive self-concept, high empathy, and literacy about cyberbullying are identified as internal factors, whereas social support from peers and supportive school climate are identified as external factors. Among those various protective factors, social support from peers is found to be the main determinant of cyberbullying.

Abstract

The problem faced by private schools is that teachers' ability to plan and differentiate learning is not optimal. The purpose of this community service activity is to optimize the role of teachers in designing initial assessments as a support for differentiated learning planning to serve students' learning needs in the classroom. The solution offered to solve partner problems is socialization and assistance in compiling initial assessments as a basis for creating differentiated learning; differentiated learning assistance. The four stages of implementing this community service activity include adopting organizational learning (OL). The four main stages are socializing, externalizing, combining, and internalizing. This community service activity involved three students. The results of the community service activities carried out in May-September 2024 exceeded the target output, which showed that teachers' knowledge of differentiated learning after socialization reached an average of 81.06 and was categorized as good at 69.7%. The FGD results showed that the implementation of the activities showed that the principal and teachers could prepare, implement, or support differentiated learning well.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly groups poses challenges such as loneliness, decreased physical abilities, and mental health problems. Spiritual well-being is considered a key factor in helping the elderly overcome these problems. Through Spiritual Well-Being can significantly overcome these aspects in the lives of the elderly. This study aims to analyze the importance of Spiritual Well-Being (SWB) in the lives of the elderly to provide direction and guidance in living life. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA diagram. The results of the study showed that (1) the impact of SWB on the elderly group is an increase in well-being, quality of life, mental and physical health, and reducing stress and depression levels. (2) factors that influence SWB in the elderly group are social support, social participation, self-perception, religious beliefs, education and economic levels and culture and traditions.

Abstract

Pentingnya anak usia dini memiliki kemampuan sosial emosional karena akan berdampak untuk kemajuan anak pada tahap selanjutnya juga dengan kesiapan anak untuk bersekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami perilaku sosial emosional anak usia dini, faktor penyebab dan model konseling yang dapat digunakan dalam meningkatkan sosial emosional anak usia dini.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review. Artikel penelitian didapatkan dari dua database yaitu ProQuest dan SAGE. Pencarian literatur menggunakan kata kunci sosial emosional, anak usia dini dan model konseling dengan kriteria inklusi artikel penelitian dari tahun 2018-2023, artikel primer, fulltext dan subjek penelitian adalah anak usia dini. Dari 246.554 artikel penelitian didapatkan enam artikel yang direview yang masuk dalam kriteria inklusi dan tujuan dari kajian literatur ini. Berdasarkan hasil literature review perilaku sosial emosional anak yang bermasalah meliputi perasaan cemas, menarik diri, agresi, tidak patuh, membantah, sulit bersosialisasi dan model konseling untuk menangani masalah sosial emosional anak usia dini dengan menggunakan keterampilan sosial berfokus  solusi, keterampilan sosial berbasis cerita dan intervensi konseling berbasis aplikasi.
