Abstract

Evangelism has transcended ethnic and linguistic boundaries. The evangelistic movement has become very widespread, reaching neglected areas. Although there are studies that have discussed cross-cultural evangelism methods, the researcher found that there has not been a comprehensive discussion of the contextual methods used by Paul relating to the character of missionaries. That is why this research article discusses Paul's contextual method of "being like" in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, as an implementation of character for missionaries in cross-cultural evangelism. Paul used the contextual approach to achieve two main goals, namely: "that I may win as many as possible" (1 Corinthians 9:19b) and "that I may share in the gospel that is preached" (1 Corinthians 9:23b). Thus this article finds that there are five character-shaping factors for missionaries, namely: first, being a servant; second, living in obedience; third, daring to pay the price; fourth, adhering to the principles of truth; and fifth, being able to adjust. This research can be a reference for academics and every cross-cultural evangelism movement in mission service. Penginjilan telah melampaui batas-batas suku kaum dan bahasa. Gerakan penginjilan menjadi sangat meluas mencapai wilayah-wilayah terabaikan. Sekalipun terdapat penelitian yang telah membahas tentang metode penginjilan lintas budaya, namun peneliti menemukan belum terdapat pembahasan yang komprehensif mengenai metode kontekstual yang digunakan Paulus yang berkaitan dengan karakter bagi para misionaris. Itulah sebabnya penelitian artikel ini membahas motode kontekstual Paulus “menjadi seperti” dalam 1 Korintus 9:19-23, sebagai implementasi karakter bagi para misionaris dalam penginjilan lintas budaya. Paulus menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual untuk mencapai dua tujuan utama yaitu: "supaya aku boleh memenangkan sebanyak mungkin orang" (1 Korintus 9:19b) dan "supaya aku mendapat bagian di dalam Injil yang diberitakan" (1 Korintus 9:23b). Dengan demikian artikel ini menemukan, ada lima faktor yang membentuk karakter, bagi para misionaris yaitu: pertama, menjadi hamba; kedua, hidup dalam ketaatan; ketiga, berani membayar harga; keempat, berpegang kepada prinsip kebenaran; dan kelima, mampu menyesuaikan diri. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi akademisi dan setiap kegerakan penginjilan lintas budaya dalam pelayanan misi.

Abstract

After reading this book, the author understands that a Christian Religious Education teacher in both school and church contexts, who wants to teach must have thorough preparation, such as living in the knowledge of God, understanding the Bible and the basics of teaching the Christian faith, and having good character. endure the test, have intimate fellowship with God. Apart from being spiritual, the preparation of a Christian Religious Education teacher also includes the following, namely, before teaching, a Christian Religious Education teacher must also be able to formulate learning objectives, and even prepare learning through groups. The next part that a Christian Religious Education teacher must prepare is to prepare the curriculum or teaching materials in class. To help in teaching, a Christian Religious Education teacher must master and improve his teaching skills. Christian Religious Education Teachers must also be able to use various approaches through stories, lectures, sermons and various illustrations to help students understand the lesson messages conveyed by the teacher. A Christian Religious Education teacher must also be intelligent in managing the learning class. The room must be arranged in such a way that students are enthusiastic about participating in learning. Furthermore, a successful Christian Religious Education teacher will be successful if, through learning, students have an attitude of love and obedience to God. Because their goal in participating in learning is to become disciples for the Lord Jesus. Therefore, in teaching a Christian Religious Education teacher must be able to first provide examples or role models for students so that students have an idea of ​​the behavior that must be imitated as disciples of Christ. A professional Christian Religious Education teacher must have true commitment and uphold the values ​​of the truth of God's word which are the basis for his life.

Abstract

Salvation is a gift that comes from the redemption of Jesus Christ. However, mankind does many things against the will of God. For humans, salvation is determined by good deeds. However, Hilarion Alfeyev in the book Othodox Christianity says that salvation is a gift free from sin. The purpose of this article is to contribute to the human need to respond not only by doing good, but also by believing, repenting from bad actions to good actions. In making the article using the literature method. Where the author uses books, journal articles as references to solve the problems in the article discussed. The results of this study are about salvation according to Hilarion Alfeyev, namely, salvation is theosis, theosis occurs thanks to human love for God and the goal of man after salvation is to be one with Christ. As a result of the salvation response, humans will experience glorification.

Abstract

Buku ini merupakan karya tulis dari Pdt. Dr. Stephen Tong, DLCE (Untuk selanjutnya akan disingkat ST). Ia adalah seorang cendekiawan Kristen dan pendiri gerakan Reformed Injili Indonesia. Tulisan ini dilatarbelakangi dimana lebih dari dua puluh lima tahun ST memikirkan tentang fungsi rasio dalam diri orang beriman. Apakah orang beriman tidak berpikir? Apakah orang yang berpikir tidak dapat beragama? Bagaimana kedudukan rasio di dalam terang Iman Kristen? Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah iman bukanlah hanya sebatas perasaan (emosi) keagamaan yang Tuhan berikan ada di dalam diri manusia itu sendiri (Kejadian 2:7). Melainkan setiap umat kristen harus mengerti apa yang ia yakini supaya dapat mempertanggungjawabkan iman kristen kepada publik sebab dalam iman kristen sangat menganjurkan peran rasio difungsikan di dalam memahami keyakinan iman kristen (Matius 22:37b), tetapi tidak untuk memperilah rasio. Rasio harus tunduk dan dipimpin oleh kebenaran. Sebab kebenaran itu adalah Allah. Kebenaran memiliki kedudukan yang lebih besar atau lebih tinggi dari rasio manusia yang diciptakan Tuhan. Rasio yang dipimpin kebenaran akan mencerahkan pikiran kita inilah yang disebut dengan iman.

Abstract

Mengemban panggilan sebagai hamba Tuhan merupakan suatu hal yang sangat bermakna dan baik. Akan tetapi, acap kali hambatan dan rintangan serta penderitaan menyebabkan hamba Tuhan menjadi gundah hati dan ragu akan panggilannya sendiri. Seperti Rodrigues (film Silence) yang pada akhirnya menyangkal imannya karena penderitaan yang tiada habisnya ketika penganiayaan yang dilakukan oleh Bangsa Jepang. Berbeda terbalik dengan Nabi Yesaya ia justru setia mengerjakan panggilannya sekalipun Bangsa Yahudi tetap tidak akan berbalik kepada Allah. Oleh karena itu, di dalam menjawab permasalahan di atas, maka penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Dan hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa suatu panggilan akan berhasil ketika seseorang mempunyai motivasi yang luhur dan suci, serta sikap rendah hati di dalam melaksanakan panggilannya, dan tetap waspada dengan memakai pengendalian diri guna bertahan di dalam masalah dan pencobaan.

Abstract

The Sabbath as a moral principle and symbol of God's covenant with His people. It emphasises the importance of the sabbath in fostering a harmonious relationship with God and finding peace and purpose in life. Obedience in observing the sabbath shows the quality of an individual's life, which is to have hope for the salvation of the soul. The research method used in this research is literature and library studies. In this method the author takes several general steps such as systematically identifying theories, identifying books, journals, Bible verses and other publications that are relevant to the topic of discussion. The result of this study is that the sabbath has a sacred and important meaning in a religious context, as a day of rest and reflection that allows individuals to strengthen their relationship with God and with the community of faith. By observing the sabbath, individuals can find a more meaningful purpose in life, because individuals who crave peace and tranquility will find their purpose in a good relationship with God through sincere worship.
