Abstract

The banking industry plays an important role in a country's economy and proactively engaged in CSR activities while other industries are reactive to CSR due to external stakeholder pressure (Decker, 2004). The reputation of financial institutions depends on their CSR programs (Poolthong & Mandhachitara, 2009), which is why banking institutions tend to rank high on the international CSR rating index (Perez et al., 2013). One of these challenges stems from the negative impact of individual perceptions on financial institutions' (Matute et al., 2010). This refers to the perception that each individual plays a very important role in the financial institution. One focus of Bakti BCA CSR program is education because it realizes that education is an indicator to form mental and individual character to improve social welfare. The objective of this research is to know the perception of beneficiaries of education CSR programs on CSR dimension by using quantitative research. The result of this research explained that positive perceptions of beneficiaries consisting external or internal stakeholder will have an impact on company’s operations and business. So that provides direct benefits in the social welfare of the benefits to the general public as external stakeholders and employees as internal stakeholders in order to improve the standard of living.

Abstract

Social development should be able to evenly touch all areas, where welfare is felt by all groups of society. One of the areas in Indonesia that still has many social problems such as unemployment, poverty, health, or regional planning is kampong. Various programs have been carried out by the government as an effort to improve social development so that the kampongs are no longer in a condition called distorted development. One of the kampong improvement efforts in Indonesia is the thematic village program. Several regions in Indonesia use thematic kampongs as a means of promoting local potential, regional development solutions, or creating new ideas to achieve community welfare. The implementation of thematic villages has been successful in several areas such as Semarang City, Malang City, Bandung Regency, Bogor City, and Banjarbaru City. This study attempts to analyze one thematic kampong that is able to survive and get attention to foreign countries, namely Kampung Purun in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. This study aims to analyze the Kampung Purun program in increasing social development through social development strategies, as well as social capital and supporting and obstacle factors. This research is expected to produce novelty considering previous studies on thematic kampong have not focused too much on social development strategies and community’s capital. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques using literature and documentary studies, in-depth interviews, and observation. The results showed that the social development strategies in the thematic kampong of Kampung Purun were government, community, and individual strategies. The capital of the community consisted of physical, financial, environmental, technological, human, social, and political capital. To enhance the development of Kampung Purun, this study employed a SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat).

Abstract

This research discusses the role of the oil palm joined farmer groups in the implementation of People’s Oil Palm Rejuvenation program (PSR). The PSR program is a program designed by the government to assist oil palm farmers in increasing the productivity of oil palm farmers and supporting Sustainable Rural Development which impacts on improving the welfare of oil palm farmers. In the PSR program, the role of oil palm farmer groups is very important, as they are the grant beneficiaries and managers, so that the success or failure of the program also depends on the farmer groups. In this study, the role of farmer groups will be analyzed in terms of decision making, Human Resources (HR) mobilization and management, communication and coordination, and mediation of problems. This study used a qualitative method with a purposive sampling method. The result of this research is in terms of decision making to follow PSR program, the head of the farmer group must convince the oil palm farmers if the program can run well. During the implementation of the PSR program, communication and coordination between Gapoktan and the agriculture agency went well, where extension workers played an important role in liaising communication between farmer groups and the agriculture agency, but there was a slight miscommunication with the partnership namely regarding the making of the RAB (Draft Budget) and implementation in the field. In HR mobilization and management, the farmers' lack of knowledge has resulted in non-optimal administrative management. The PSR program is also not separated from problems so that there is a need for problem mediation, namely at stage three where farmer groups will no longer use partnerships because they are already experienced, so they can manage the grant independently. This research suggests that institutional strengthening is needed so that farmers can be independent farmers who can run their own programs and there is a need for clear main duties and functions from each stakeholders of the PSR program.

Abstract

Fatayat NU (Nahdlatul Ulama) and Muslimat NU are grassroots community organizations with millions of members throughout Indonesia. They are women and mothers who support their families in education and even the economy. From observations and searches and excavations, it is found that the phenomenon is that they are the ones who continue to drive the family economy during the pandemic when husbands and fathers lose their jobs due to PPKM regulations and also mass dismissals in many companies and other institutions. In addition, many husbands and fathers have died due to Covid-19 and comorbidities. Their economic resilience needs to be supported and encouraged to continue to develop even more in order to improve their welfare and that of future generations. Their economic model that utilizes the existing environment and availability as well as social capital of mutual assistance between members whose culture has been created for a long time can become a pattern that is developed, modified, and expanded its reach for other communities.

Abstract

Community workers have roles and functions in empowering communities, especially those who are disadvantaged, poor, or lacking access to increased prosperity. Since 2000, the Indonesian Government has developed poverty alleviation programmes with community empowerment approaches and many Community Worker personnel recruited as PNPM Mandiri facilitators in rural and urban areas in various regions in Indonesia. Currently, the number of Community workers has reached tens of thousands but the future of this profession has a problem because the policy and law labor regulation demands that every profession that works should be able to demonstrate its competence through assessment based competency with national recognized competency standards and expressed in the form of competency certificate. Apart from the pros and cons of competency assessment ideas for Community workers, researchers think this still needs to be reviewed and developed because competency problems are issues of professional responsibility and Community Workers will experience challenges in the global future. Research on the process of competency assessment for Community workers at LSP FPM is aimed at the process of assessment processes done and the results, and hopefully can be contributed both academically and practically for the efforts of the development Community Worker profession.
