Abstract

Damage to the environment and ecosystem can be caused by various things, one of which is the accumulation of residual waste or waste originating from industry and households. Plastic bag waste has become a common problem across continents and countries, waterways and oceans. Plastic bag waste is increasing in Indonesia every year and the environmental conditions are very concerning. The use of eco-friendly shopping bags needs to be encouraged to reduce the use of plastic bags. Starting in 2009, several supermarkets or supermarkets and hypermarkets in Indonesia have started to promote eco-friendly campaigns, namely the use of eco-friendly cloth shopping bags (green bags) as a substitute for plastic bags which tend not to be environmentally friendly. Therefore it is important for consumers to contribute to environmental sustainability through pro-environmental behavior (pro-environment).

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has plagued and spread to all corners of the world, one of which is Indonesia. As a result of the prolonged Covid-19, Indonesia's economic growth has decreased as well as publicly listed companies on the IDX. This study aims to: (1) test whether there are differences in the prediction results between Taffler, CA-Score, Grover and Ohlson models, (2) test which predictive model is the most accurate in predicting the financial distress of companies in hotel, restaurant, and tourism sub-sectors, and (3) knowing which companies are predicted to be affected by financial distress. This type of research is quantitative descriptive using secondary data taken from the company's financial statements with purposive sampling technique so that there are 13 companies as samples. The results showed that there were differences in the prediction results of Taffler, CA-Score, Grover, and Ohlson models with the highest level of accuracy owned by the Grover model, which was 93,85%. Based on the calculation of the Grover model, there are three companies that are predicted to experience financial distress. Therefore, to overcome this, the company can improve its performance by increasing working capital and profits. Keywords: Financial Distress; Taffler; CA-Score; Grover; Ohlson

Abstract

Economic growth is one of the important indicators that can be used for economic development in a country. However, the high incomes that are not matched by sustainable development can lead to economic growth gaps. This study is intended to determine the effect of international trade, inflation, and interest rates by including the governance index variable as a moderating variable on economic growth. The object of research used is all countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) by 57 countries, but limited data, so there are 27 countries selected for the period 2010-2019. This study uses the approach GMM (Generalized Method of Moments) to analyze data. Then for the use of the approach to analyze state governance variables using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of statistical tests show that international trade variables have a significant positive effect on economic growth except for inflation and interest rates which have a significant negative effect. This causes the negative effect of these variables due to the lack of control carried out by government policies. However, the governance index can moderate international trade, inflation, and interest rates in their impact on economic growth. This study confirms that good governance can improve the economy in OIC member countries. Keywords: Economic Growth; International Trade; Inflation; Interest Rates, Governance Index
