Abstract

Human Resource Management (HRM) is the key to the failure or success of educational institutions. The three main factors that influence HRM at Poltekpel Sumbar are leadership, employee engagement and work environment. The purpose of this study is to see the relationship between these four factors including leadership, work environment, employee engagement and HRM at Poltekpel Sumbar. This study was conducted at Merchant Marine Polytechnic of West Sumatera. The research participants were all employees with a total of 154 people. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires directly to the participants. The questionnaire data analysis technique was carried out using linear regression. The conclusion of this study indicated that there is a significant influence of leadership on HRM, employee engagement on HRM, employee engagement on the work environment, and leadership on the work environment. Meanwhile, there is no significant influence of the work environment on HRM and leadership on employee engagement. Further research can also examine in more depth other research variables related to HRM in all vocational higher education institution under the Ministry of Transportation, namely in the maritime, land and railway and aviation institution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of marketing communication strategies using the SOSTAC (Situation, Objectives, Strategy, Tactics, Action, Control) framework at Assalam Hypermarket, Sukoharjo. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, which consists of three stages: Pre-Field, Field Implementation, and Data Analysis. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with the CEO and the Marketing and Public Relations Division of Assalam Hypermarket, observation, and documentation. Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) approaches consistently, from branding to integrated advertising and event marketing. The findings reflect the company's commitment to building engagement with customers and communities, and show that Assalam Hypermarket not only focuses on implementing marketing strategies, but also actively monitors and evaluates their effectiveness. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for the development of marketing communication strategies in the Islamic retail sector in Indonesia

Abstract

This research explores the relationship between the development of superior Human Resources (HR) and the development of religious tourism in the context of increasing sustainable economic independence. The main object of research is Muinul Islamic Boarding School, an Islamic educational institution that has great potential as a religious tourism destination in Indonesia. Through a qualitative approach with a field research method, this study identifies the key role of superior human resources in managing and optimizing the potential of religious tourism. To see the role of human resources in increasing sustainable economic independence and how religious tourism development strategies in increasing sustainable economic independence. The results showed that the development of religious tourism can contribute to the local economy, by creating jobs, learning media for entrepreneurial students, increasing income from tourism, and expanding economic opportunities for local communities. This research produces an overview of human resource development to support religious tourism to increase economic independence in Muinul Islam Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Customer intention in paying ZISWAF through BSI mobile is important to investigate because ZISWAF are important instruments to reduce the level of poverty in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to determine the factors influencing customers' interest in making ZISWAF payments through BSI mobile. This research employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory, incorporating two additional internal variables, namely trust and security. A quantitative approach is used to examine the relationship between dependent and independent variables, utilizing primary data obtained directly from Indonesian Sharia Bank customers through the distribution of 220 questionnaires. Subsequently, the data is processed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach. The results indicate that perceived usefulness and security variables have a positive impact on the interest in paying ZISWAF, perceived ease of use and trust variables do not affect the interest in making zakat and waqf payments through BSI mobile in Indonesia.

Abstract

Understanding how brand image research in Indonesia has evolved over the past decade is essential for scholars and practitioners aiming to position their work within a rapidly expanding marketing landscape. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of Scopus‐indexed publications on “Brand Image” and “Marketing” related to Indonesia from 2016 to 2025. Using Microsoft Excel 2016 for initial data handling and VOSviewer 1.6.20 for network visualization, we identified 52 relevant articles. Co‑occurrence analysis of author keywords revealed six thematic clusters, dominated by: brand awareness, brand image, purchase intention, social media, and city branding. The term brand image emerged as the most central node, appearing in 19 documents with a total link strength of 21. Temporal mapping shows a steady rise in publications after 2020, reflecting increased scholarly attention to digital‑driven branding strategies. Our findings deliver a clear snapshot of the intellectual structure, influential themes, and research gaps in Indonesian brand‑image scholarship. These insights provide a roadmap for future studies—especially those exploring digital touchpoints and regional branding—to deepen theoretical development and inform evidence‑based marketing practice across Indonesia’s diverse consumer markets.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the integration between Islamic business management and Islamic social finance within the framework of Pancasila values as a strategy to build an inclusive development paradigm in Indonesia. Inclusive development is an important approach in dealing with socio-economic inequality, structural poverty and financial exclusion. This research applies a literature study method with a qualitative normative approach to analyze the basic principles underlying the policy and provide applicable recommendations in the context of an equitable and sustainable Islamic economy. Data was collected through a secondary literature review from reliable sources, including scientific journals, books, and official documents published between 2020-2025. The analysis process was carried out through three stages: data reduction, presentation of findings in the form of narratives and visualizations, and verification and conclusion drawing in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results show that the integration of these values forms an ethical and normative basis for equitable and sustainable economic governance. The Islamic business management model that integrates Islamic work ethics and maqashid al-syari'ah principles has a strong meeting point with the values of Pancasila in building a participatory economic system. Islamic social finance instruments such as zakat, waqf, and BMT have proven effective in expanding financial inclusion and empowering marginalized groups. This study recommends strengthening value-based policies, civil society participation, and economic and spiritual literacy as strategic steps in building an economic ecosystem oriented towards collective welfare and sustainability.

Abstract

Teacher performance and burnout are critical to maintaining educational quality, and they are often affected by psychological and social factors. This study examines the impact of self-esteem, team cohesiveness, and psychological safety climate on employee performance and burnout, with the perception of Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) as a mediating factor. A quantitative approach was employed, surveying 201 public high school teachers in Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS) to explore direct and indirect relationships between variables. The findings indicate that team cohesiveness and psychological safety climate significantly enhance the perception of TPA, improving employee performance and reducing burnout. Additionally, self-esteem has a direct positive effect on performance. However, no significant relationship was found between self-esteem and perception of TPA, nor between psychological safety climate and burnout, suggesting the presence of contextual moderating factors. This study contributes to the understanding of multi-level factors affecting teacher performance and burnout, emphasising the importance of fostering a supportive work environment. Practical implications include recommendations for educational institutions to strengthen team collaboration, enhance psychological security, and ensure fair and transparent performance assessments to improve teacher effectiveness and overall educational quality.

Abstract

Employee theft is a common and significant problem in many businesses, especially in the hospitality sector where workers are frequently exposed to cash transactions, fixed assets, material presents, and consumable food and beverage items.  Because it deters investors and local businesses from operating in a particular area due to the possibility of their goods being stolen, this impacts local economic activity. This research provides a theoretical contribution to matters relating to employee theft, which can be used as a basis for further study. This research uses theoretical literature assessment, and a conceptual framework for further investigation is provided. Based on the conceptual research, the authors conclude that employee theft affects brand image and is affected by inconsistent auditing.

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) in the relationship between product quality, brand image, and smartphone purchasing decisions. A quantitative survey was employed, targeting Samsung smartphone users in Jembrana Regency, Bali Province, Indonesia. Data were collected from 156 respondents through convenience sampling at six major smartphone retail outlets. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data using the Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) method. The results reveal that both product quality and brand image have a significant positive effect on e-WOM. Additionally, product quality was found to have a direct positive influence on purchasing decisions. However, brand image and e-WOM did not show a significant direct effect on purchasing decisions. Furthermore, e-WOM did not mediate the relationship between either product quality or brand image and purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that tangible aspects of product performance influence Samsung users more in this regional market than online reviews or brand perception. The study implies that maintaining high product quality is critical, as it remains the only significant driver of purchase decisions in this context. Future research is recommended to explore the influence of social or cultural factors that may explain the weak impact of e-WOM and brand image on consumer behavior in localized smartphone markets.

Abstract

MSMEs contribute a lot to a region's economy, from absorbing labor and leveling the economy to providing foreign exchange for international-scale MSMEs. Therefore, the government pays close attention to MSMEs under the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic banking and government programs in improving MSME performance by involving 141 respondents who entered Pintar UMKM Salatiga. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through interviews and questionnaire results filled out by MSME actors in Salatiga City who had received financing from Islamic banking. Data analysis in this study used moderated regression analysis to determine whether the moderating variable can strengthen or weaken the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of this study show that Islamic banking and entrepreneurial competence significantly influence the performance of MSMEs in Salatiga. However, government programs do not significantly affect the performance of MSMEs in Salatiga. Likewise, the entrepreneurial competence variable cannot strengthen the relationship between Islamic banking and government programs on the performance of MSMEs in Salatiga.
