Abstract

Hyperglycemia is a blood glucose level that contains a lot of sugar in the body's blood circulation. Autogenic relaxation can control blood glucose in the body, by thinking about the feeling of warmth and heaviness in the body parts. Water therapy (Hydrotherapy) is a method of treatment and healing using water as a medium. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Autohidro (autogenic relaxation therapy and water therapy (Hydrotherapy) on blood glucose in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The research design used Quasy Experimental with a pre test and post test control group approach, using a purposive sampling technique to obtain samples 32 respondents consisting of 16 people in each group, both control and treatment groups. Data processing and data analysis using the Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. Results of data analysis using the Paired T-Test, Blood glucose in Diabetes Mellitus respondents there was a difference in the intervention group (p value 0.023), while in the control group there was no change in blood glucose (p value 0.064). Based on analysis using the Independent T-Test, it showed that there was an effect of Autohidro therapy on the blood glucose of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients (p value 0.022). Autohidro therapy can be an alternative therapy to reduce blood glucose levels in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients.

Abstract

Dental and oral diseases that are commonly found in Indonesia are dental caries and swollen gums. Children aged 10-14 years in West Sumatra experienced dental caries by 41.47% and swollen gums by 11.30% caused by plaque. Plaque prevention is done by brushing your teeth thoroughly and regularly. Mirror As a tool for brushing teeth can see the entire surface of the teeth so that maximum accuracy and cleanliness are obtained. This study aims to determine the difference between brushing teeth using mirror aids and without mirror aids in grade V and VI students of SDN 12 Koto Tinggi. Research method "quasi-experiment". The sample of this study was 36 people with inclusion criteria. The results showed dental and oral hygiene, brushing teeth using mirror aids amounted to 22.2% bad criteria and 77.7% good criteria, while without using a mirror 77.2% bad criteria and 22.7% good criteria. The result of the statistical test p value = 0.01 (P value < 0.05) means that there is a significant difference between brushing your teeth using a mirror and mirrorless aids. The conclusion in this study is that it helps reduce plaque numbers compared to without using mirror aids.

Despite the majority of babies receiving HB0 and HBIg immunizations within 24 hours, 135 babies tested positive for Hepatitis B at 9-12 months of age. Maternal knowledge influenced the prevention behavior of transmitting Hepatitis B to infants. This study examines pregnant women's Hepatitis B prevention knowledge in Surabaya, analyzing factors like age, information, education, and gravid status. This research in Surabaya involved 115 respondents, utilizing a quantitative cross-sectional method at Tanah Kali Kedinding and Kalirungkut Health Centers from March to November 2023. Sampling was done through consecutive sampling, and knowledge was assessed using a questionnaire, analyzed through the Spearman statistical test. The study revealed that 72.2% of respondents had good knowledge about preventing Hepatitis B transmission to newborns. Bivariate tests showed a non-significant relationship between age and knowledge (p=0.290), while the relationship between information sources (p=0.02), last educational level (p=0.315), and gravid status (p=0.052) were significant. In conclusion, most respondents demonstrated good knowledge, and there was a correlation between information sources and knowledge, while age, last educational level, and gravid status did not significantly correlate with respondents' knowledge.

Abstract

Background: Evaluation of cross-sectoral control of refillable drinking water depot is a strategic role in protecting consumers to obtain standardized drinking water quality. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors in the control and management of refillable drinking water depot in the working area of the Muaro Jambi District Health Center. Methods: The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, which is to understand the phenomenon of the research subject holistically. Results: The results showed that the evaluation conducted by the health office was not optimal, most of the refillable drinking water depots in the Puskesmas working area had not been inspected. This is influenced by limited human resources in monitoring and evaluating each refillable drinking water depot, lack of socialization and education to refillable drinking water depot businesses and the community regarding the importance of consuming quality-assured drinking water, and especially the lack of awareness of refillable drinking water depot businesses to pro-actively meet drinking water quality standards. Conclusion: The lack of optimal cross-sectoral control of refillable drinking water depots is influenced by human resources and socialization and education programs, along with community awareness. It is expected that there will be more intensive integration between the health center, health office, and village officials who play a role in monitoring and evaluating the management of refillable drinking water depot.

Abstract

This prospective study was conducted at the Department of General Surgery in Tikrit Teaching Hospital from December 2008 to December 2012. It included 73 patients who sustained diaphragmatic injuries, primarily from penetrating injuries such as gunshot wounds and shells (65 patients, 89%), with the remaining patients presenting with blunt trauma (8/73, 11%). The study comprised both male and female patients, with a male-to-female ratio of 3.8:1. The majority of patients were in the 20-29 years age group (43/73, 60%). The left hemidiaphragm was the most commonly injured site in both blunt and penetrating traumas, accounting for 89% (7/8) and 66% (43/65) of cases, respectively. Acute presentation with abdominal pain and concurrent intraabdominal and thoracic injuries was the most commonly encountered clinical scenario (58/73, 74.5%). The spleen was the most frequently injured intraabdominal organ in both blunt and penetrating traumas. Diaphragmatic injury should be suspected in all patients with penetrating injury below the nipple in front and inferior scapular angle in the back, confirmed by chest X-ray showing diagnostic findings such as elevation of the injured hemidiaphragm or obliteration of its contour, and/or a pathognomonic "collar sign." Most patients underwent laparotomy for diaphragmatic defect repair and management of intraabdominal visceral injuries, with only two patients requiring thoracotomy in addition to laparotomy. Empyema was the most common postoperative morbidity, and the mortality rate depended on the severity of injury and the time lag between patients' arrival and operation.

Abstract

Mochiis a typical Japanese food which is quite famous in Indonesia for its chewy texture and semi-wet nature. Mochi comes from the Japanese word for muaci. Objective: To determine the physical and chemical characteristics (color, aroma, taste, texture, water content, ash content, fat, folic acid, potassium) of mochi with the substitution of beetroot flour. Method: This type of research is an experimental study with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 2 repetitions, resulting in 8 experimental units in making mochi with beet flour substitution. The research was carried out in September 2023 at the Helvetia Health Institute, then chemical tests were carried out at the Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory of the Medan Industrial Chemical Technology Polytechnic. In this research, there are hedonic and hedonic quality then proximate tests. Data analysis used Anova and continued with the Duncan test. Results: The hedonic test shows that the F1 formula is the best formula with an average hedonic test value of 3.80 in the like category, while the hedonic quality test shows that the F1 formula is the best formula with an average hedonic quality test value of 3.72 in the purple, aroma category. typical beet flour, sweet taste and chewy texture. The nutritional content of mochi is 20.72% water content, 3.42% ash content, 8.36% fat, 0.186 mg/gr folic acid, and 8.753 mg/gr potassium. Conclusion: The most preferred mochi based on hedonic tests and hedonic quality is the F1 formulation which can be used as an additional food for teenagers and pregnant women because it contains folic acid (0.186 mg/gr).
