Abstract

Community service activities to Girijati Village, Purwosari, Gunungkidul are carried out to make contributions that are expected to be useful. Researchers found the potential for accommodation business, namely the lodging business. There are 32 hotels or inns in Girijati Village. This potential can increase the number of tourists and make this village a tourist attraction, thereby increasing the source of income for the community and the Gunungkidul Regency Government. So, researchers In order to realize this, it is necessary to analyze the village potential and review the existing facilities and infrastructure in Girijati Village. The research data were collected through observation, documentation, and some literature. This community service is expected to provide counseling that can be implemented by Girijati Village in the future.

Abstract

Girikarto Village is a village located in Panggang District, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. Girikarto Village is located in the southern part of the Gunung Kidul region and is on the border of the Indian Ocean. Girikarto Village has a variety of village potentials that can be managed by the local community. This effort is needed to provide education to residents around the village of Girikarto so that they can develop the existing potentials and know the social conditions of the village. To assist the community in developing the potential of Girikarto Village, a problem identification process is carried out first. Because there is no direct fieldwork in this process, research will be carried out via the internet. From the results of the research, it is strengthened by a literature study using several sources such as books, journals, articles and news. Then the author determines the purpose of community service in Girikarto village. After determining the objectives, the data obtained were collected for the development of village potential. After selecting the data, the authors will carry out the stages of data analysis as a further development. The potentials that can be developed are coastal tourism, culinary innovations of instant tiwul, arts, and teak forests with good management of facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

BUMDes as a village-managed business institution has a strategic role in efforts to improve the village economy. However, unfortunately, there are still very few villages that are able to optimize the role of BUMDes, so that many BUMDes are "in suspended animation" and are not developing. For this reason, revitalization measures are needed for existing BUMDes. For example, in several BUMDes in the Karanganyar, Klaten and Sukoharjo areas. This is important because the BUMDes revitalization process ultimately seeks to make the village a competitive village. The location of the activity was held at the LPPM Building, Sebelas Maret University. The methods that will be used in this activity are through lectures, discussions, focus group discussions, and mentoring. The results of this activity show that understanding regarding the strategic role of BUMDes and the revitalization of the village economy has increased. Apart from that, BUMDes administrators in the Karanganyar, Klaten and Sukoharjo areas can be more enthusiastic and optimistic in carrying out BUMDes activities.

Abstract

Stories are a means of conveying messages, advice, teachings, moral values and experiences in a relaxed, captivating and lasting manner on the listeners' hearts. However, telling stories seems to be a skill that only certain people have, so now stories are rarely present in children's bedrooms, classrooms, training or other public spaces. Legendary stories that used to be effective in instilling moral values or introducing the culture of a region no longer seem to increase. This community service activity aims to motivate and equip participants with the knowledge and skills to write stories, so that participants can participate in presenting stories in families, educational spaces and other public spaces. This activity is open to communicators from the Diocesan Social Communication Commission throughout Indonesia and is held online by the Social Communication Commission of the Indonesian Catholic Bishops' Conference. Activities consist of training and competitions. Training is carried out online to motivate, unite perceptions and provide insight into stories. Meanwhile, the competition was held to increase participant involvement. During the training, the participants realized the importance of stories and telling stories. Participants asked many questions to the resource person to deepen the material. They were enthusiastic about writing stories, so several participants sent two stories. Dalam Bahasa Indonesia: Cerita merupakan sarana penyampaian pesan, nasehat, ajaran, nilai-nilai moral maupun pengalaman secara rileks, memikat dan membekas dalam sanubari pendengarnya. Namun, bercerita seolah menjadi keterampilan yang dimiliki orang-orang tertentu saja, sehingga kini cerita sudah jarang hadir di ruang tidur anak, ruang kelas, pelatihan, atau ruang publik lainnya. Cerita-cerita legenda yang dulu efektif untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai moral atau mengenalkan kebudayaan suatu daerah seakan tidak lagi bertambah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memotivasi dan membekali peserta dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk menulis cerita, sehingga peserta dapat berpartisipasi dalam menghadirkan cerita dalam keluarga, ruang pendidikan dan ruang publik lainnya. Kegiatan ini terbuka bagi para komunikator dari Komisi Komunikasi Sosial Keuskupan di seluruh Indonesia dan dilangsungkan secara online oleh Komisi Komunikasi Sosial Konferensi Waligereja Indonesia. Kegiatan terdiri dari pelatihan dan lomba. Pelatihan dilakukan secara online untuk memotivasi, menyatukan persepsi dan memberikan wawasan tentang cerita. Sementara, lomba diadakan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta. Selama mengikuti pelatihan, para peserta menyadari pentingnya cerita dan bercerita. Banyak pertanyaan yang diberikan peserta kepada narasumber untuk mendalami materi. Mereka antusias untuk menuliskan cerita, sehingga beberapa peserta mengirimkan dua buah cerita.

Abstract

The economic growth of the city is closely related to informal activities, one of which is street vendors (PKL - "Pedagang Kaki Lima"). PKL activities generally seek strategic urban spaces to conduct informal trading businesses. The Pedagang Kaki Lima community in Gunung Kidul has been given the opportunity to develop their trading activities in the Dhaksinarga terminal complex in Wonosari city. The existing condition of the Dhaksinarga terminal prompted the PKL vendors to contact the Urban and Settlement Environment Laboratory of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at UKDW to assist in planning the PKL business spaces with a people-oriented concept. In this community engagement (PkM) activity, the design process is carried out using a community-based design approach, with the aim of producing a design that suits the space needed for the unique trading activities of PKL vendors in Gunung Kidul, who are part of the PPKL-Gunung Kidul association. Moreover, considering that this business space is located within the Dhaksinarga terminal complex managed by the Department of Transportation, all design efforts must align with the public service function of the Dhaksinarga Terminal. This PkM process will be a collaboration between the community (PPKL-Gunung Kidul), academia (Urban and Settlement Environment Laboratory, UKDW), and the government (Department of Transportation), requiring mapping to ensure that all parties benefit from the PKL business space design activity.

Abstract

Kegiatan ibadah yang melibatkan khotbah (pidato) dan musik dari instumen band lengkap membutuhkan penanganan akustik ruang yang lebih komplek. Hasil pengukuran kondisi eksisting kualitas akustik ruang GPdI El Shaddai Magelang waktu dengung kondisi eksisting menunjukan nilai RT yang masih tinggi dikisaran angka 1.7 - 1.9 detik dari nilai rujukan 1.4 sampai 1.6 detik sehingga diperlukan perbaikan. Gereja membutuhkan profesional yang dapat membantu dalam membuat rencana perbaikan karena mereka tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentang desain akustik ruang. Pengukuran lapangan dan simulasi akustik akan digunakan untuk merancang ruang ibadah gereja. Nilai rujukan standar akustik ruang adalah RT60, D50 dan C80. Konsep perbaikan dengan rekomendasi berjenjang mulai dari level minimum, medium hingga advance. Ketiga level perbaikan memberikan dampak perbaikan. Level advance memberikan hasil terbaik dan menjawab semua tuntutan standar nilai rujukan. Namun level advance juga berdampak pada perubahan yang lebih banyak dari segi konstruksi, tampilan visual, dan anggaran biaya. Keputusan level perbaikan yang akan digunakan merupakan sepenuhnya hak Gereja.

Abstract

Pengabdian dilakukan pada kawasan Perumahan Nogotirto Elok II. Kawasan perumahan ini merupakan salah satu kawasan dengan kepadatan rumah yang cukup tinggi sehingga area resapan sangat rendah. Sistem drainase yang ada bertipe combined sewer system di mana air hujan dan air limbah dari dapur (grey water) dialirkan pada saluran yang sama. Kawasan perumahan ini tidak termasuk dalam area rentan banjir, namun pada musim penghujan, sering terjadi genangan yang cukup dalam. Pengabdian ini fokus pada pengukuran elevasi lahan Perumahan Nogotirto Elok II, pemodelan kawasan untuk mengetahui potensi titik genangan, dan usulan solusi yang dapat diterapkan. Pengukuran elevasi dilakukan menggunakan GPS Geodetik. Pemodelan dilakukan dengan piranti lunak EPA SWMM 5.1. Solusi ditarik dari hasil pengukuran elevasi dan pemodelan yang telah dilakukan. Berdasarkan pengukuran elevasi yang dilakukan, bagian timur perumahan memiliki elevasi yang lebih tinggi. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan bahwa bagian yang rentan terjadi genangan ada di bagian selatan. Abstract

Sapuangin area is one of supporting areas for Mount Merapi National Park (TNGM). The endemic Merapi orchid is widely cultivated by people in the Sapuangin, using conventional cultivation. Sapuangin’s youth, who are members of a tourism group (POKWIS) have never received training regarding orchid propagation using in vitro culture principles. This is important to support orchid conservation activities carried out by POKWIS in the Sapuangin greenhouse. Based on requests from the community, lecturers and educational laboratory staff concentrating on Technobio-Industrial Studies, Faculty of Biotechnology, Universitas Atma JayaYogyakarta, provided a series of training on in vitro orchid culture, for household scale. This activity is expected to provide knowledge and skills regarding orchid cultivation techniques for the community. The activity was held on 12-20 December 2023. The training activity was divided into several topics, namely introduction to orchid types and their uses, principles of in vitro orchid culture, introduction to tools, methods for sterilizing and sowing orchid seeds, pollination/pollination, overplanting, and acclimatization. The training carried out can provide additional knowledge for the community regarding in vitro orchid cultivation techniques. The implementation of the training was considered very useful and by community needs, the training resource was competent, the implementation time was by the plan, and was supported by complete facilities and infrastructure. The community hopes for ongoing guidance and assistance regarding orchid propagation in the future.

Abstract

— Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science aimed at developing machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. In recent years, the development of AI has shown significant progress, and its use has expanded across various sectors, including education. The application of AI in education offers various opportunities and challenges, such as personalized learning and enhancing students' skills, but also presents challenges in technological adaptation and ethical understanding. This paper discusses the utilization of AI-based facial recognition technology at SMK Kuncup Samigaluh, with the goal of enhancing students' competence in information technology. This community service activity involves a series of structured stages, including initial planning, activity implementation, discussion and Q&A, as well as evaluation and feedback. The results of this activity indicate a significant improvement in students' understanding of AI and facial recognition technology, as evidenced by the increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. With an interactive demonstrative approach, this activity successfully provided a positive impact on students' knowledge and interest in AI, and broadened their horizons regarding career opportunities in information technology.
