Abstract

Lump sum contracts are widely used in Indonesian construction, yet questions persist about which factors—cost effectiveness, schedule effectiveness, or risk management—most significantly influence work quality and contractor satisfaction. This research addresses two critical questions: (1) what factors affect lump sum contract effectiveness based on project performance, and (2) which of the three variables most significantly impact work quality and contractor satisfaction in West Kutai District projects. The study employed quantitative methods with 30 contractor respondents, collecting data through structured 5-point Likert scale questionnaires. Validity was tested using Pearson correlation analysis and reliability assessed via Cronbach's Alpha. Multiple linear regression examined the influence of the three independent variables on work quality and contractor satisfaction. Results indicate that cost effectiveness significantly affects contractor satisfaction (β = 0.337; t = 2.097; p = 0.046), while schedule effectiveness and risk management show no significant effects on either dependent variable. The regression models explain only 41.6% of contractor satisfaction variance and 22.4% of work quality variance, indicating substantial unexplained factors. These findings demonstrate that among examined variables, cost effectiveness is the primary determinant of contractor satisfaction in lump sum contracts. However, the incomplete variance explanation emphasizes that identifying additional factors influencing contract effectiveness is essential for improving construction project outcomes in regional contexts

Abstract

The success of construction projects is commonly assessed by achieving time, cost, and quality targets, whereas failure appears as delays, cost overruns, and noncompliance with technical specifications. Based on construction project management concepts and the time–cost–quality trade-off, this study aims to identify factors influencing the risk of failing to achieve time, cost, and quality objectives in construction projects located in Samarinda City, Kutai Barat Regency, and Mahakam Ulu Regency, and to determine the most dominant factor. A descriptive approach with a survey method was applied to 36 respondents selected using random sampling. The independent variables comprise time, cost, and quality performance, while the dependent variable is project failure. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson validity tests, Cronbach’s Alpha reliability tests, and percentage calculations of each aspect’s contribution. The results indicate that all items of time (7 items), cost (13 items), and quality (6 items) performance are valid, with correlation coefficients exceeding the critical value of 0.329 and significance levels below 0.05, and reliable, with alpha values of 0.821, 0.901, and 0.849, respectively. The analysis of failure factors reveals that the cost aspect is the most dominant contributor at 50%, followed by quality at 44%, while time contributes 36%. These findings emphasize the need to prioritise budget control and quality assurance systems, supported by effective time management, to reduce the risk of construction project failure in East Kalimantan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze clean water demand and the required reservoir storage capacity in Prangat Baru Village, Marang Kayu District. The urgency of this research arises from continuous population growth that increases water demand, while the existing clean water supply system has not been optimally managed. This research applies a descriptive quantitative approach. Primary data were obtained through field surveys, while secondary data were collected from village population records and supporting literature. Population projection was conducted using the arithmetic method, assuming a linear population growth pattern during the planning period. The results show that the population of Prangat Baru Village is projected to reach 620 people by 2030, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 3%. Based on the rural clean water consumption standard of 50 liters per capita per day, total clean water demand in 2030 is estimated at 30.99 m³ per day. The analysis indicates that the existing reservoir capacity is insufficient to meet the projected demand. Conversely, the planned reservoir with a storage capacity of 31.43 m³ is considered more effective in ensuring continuity and reliability of clean water supply. The planned reservoir is designed in a cylindrical form with a height of 2.5 m, a radius of 2 m, and a diameter of 4 m. Overall, the findings emphasize that accurate population projection and appropriate reservoir capacity planning are essential to support a sustainable rural clean water supply system and ensure equitable, reliable, year-round water services for the community in future.

Abstract

This study aims to explicitly analyze the effectiveness of online motorcycle taxis as a preferred mode of transportation in Samarinda City by evaluating four key service dimensions, namely cost, punctuality, service quality, and safety. This research is important because although online motorcycle taxis offer flexibility, accessibility, and time efficiency, their level of effectiveness may differ across regions and is strongly influenced by local urban characteristics and user mobility needs. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach with a total of 100 respondents consisting of Grab, Gojek, and Maxim users in Samarinda, selected during the period of October to November 2025. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques and frequency distribution to obtain mean scores and categorical interpretations for each service dimension. The results show that all variables fall into the good category, where the cost variable recorded the highest mean score of 4.03, indicating that price transparency and affordability play a dominant role in shaping user satisfaction. Punctuality, service quality, and safety also received positive assessments, demonstrating that online motorcycle taxi services are able to meet users’ mobility needs efficiently and reliably. These findings strengthen empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of online transportation services in secondary urban regions such as Samarinda and provide practical implications for service providers and policymakers to prioritize continuous improvement in cost efficiency, service reliability, and safety performance to enhance user trust and service sustainability.

Abstract

Disharmony between taxpayers and the government leads to tax disputes, often caused by differences in calculations regarding the amount of tax payable. Similarly, in land and building sales transactions, tax disputes can arise due to differences in calculations between the seller and buyer and the government (Regional Government) regarding the amount of Income Tax and Land and Building Tax (BPHTB) payable. In practice, tax disputes sometimes arise due to the issuance of a Tax Underpayment Assessment Letter (SKPKB). This study aims to analyze the legal interpretation of the 2021 Tax Court Decision Number PUT-002482.99/2020/PP/MXIVB regarding the BPHTB Lawsuit Case. This research uses a normative legal approach. This research is legal research that uses a legislative and conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate that the tax appeal filed by PT. SAM in the Tax Court contains procedural errors that are not in accordance with legal principles because the principle of filing an appeal, where the description of the BPHTB calculation is not the object of the tax appeal dispute, because the object of the substance of the tax dispute is the decision of the tax collector in the form of objections to SKPDKB, SKPDKBT, SKPDKLB, SKPDN. The settlement of tax disputes at the appeal level has not yet received a decision on tax objections that are contrary to the requirements and procedures for appeal as stipulated in Article 31 and Article 35 of Law Number 14 of 2002 concerning the Tax Court. In conjunction with Article 103 and 104 of Law Number 28 of 2009 concerning PDRD. This fundamental misunderstanding between the object of the lawsuit and the object of the appeal is what causes taxpayers to lose the legal basis to fight for their rights from the outset.

Abstract

Teacher work stress and conflict dynamics in educational institutions, particularly at SMK Ma'arif NU 2 Karanglewas, are critical issues that affect learning quality. Using an interpretive qualitative approach, this study explores teachers’ experiences related to workload, psychological pressure, and interpersonal conflict through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings show that high curriculum demands, administrative responsibilities, and emotional strain are major sources of stress that influence teacher motivation, performance, and interactions with students. Conflicts between teachers often arising from miscommunication, unequal task distribution, and differing views on student management further deteriorate the work atmosphere. These results highlight the need for systematic stress and conflict management supported by transformational leadership, clear task allocation policies, effective communication procedures, and stress management training. Consistent implementation of these strategies can enhance teacher well-being, improve workplace harmony, and strengthen overall educational quality while fostering a more supportive and sustainable school environment for the entire school community.

Abstract

Research on the potential of local tree species is crucial for the success of post-coal mining land rehabilitation. By selecting the right species, the revegetation process can be more efficient, sustainable, and provide ecological and economic benefits to the environment and surrounding communities. The implementation of post-coal mining land reclamation must be carried out based on guiding principles, one of which is to maintain environmental sustainability. The application of these principles is crucial as an effort and a form of corporate responsibility, aiming to restore the mined and cleared areas back to their natural functions. Reclamation at PT. Minemex Indonesia is currently in the stage of planting pioneer plants or fast-growing plants (Phase II). Therefore, accurate information is needed regarding the technical aspects of the next reclamation phase (Phase III), which involves planting local trees, to ensure that revegetation goals are met in accordance with the mandates of the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 07 of 2014 and the Ministry of Forestry Regulation No. P4/Menhut-II/2011. This study aims to inventory the types of local trees that have the potential for revegetating post-coal mining land at PT. Minemex Indonesia. The identification of local tree species that naturally grow in the forest area around the mine is carried out through vegetation analysis and calculating the importance value index for each species found. Meanwhile, the selection of tree species for revegetation is conducted by scoring based on seven selection criteria: habitus, habitat, regeneration ability, economic value, ecological value, symbiosis, and sprouting ability. Data on soil conditions in the forest area around the mine and the reclamation area are obtained from soil sample analysis. The revegetation plan is developed by considering field data before mining and field data after reclamation. The research results show the discovery of 21 species at the tree level, 24 species at the pole level, 25 species at the sapling level, and 12 tree species at the seedling level that grow naturally in and around the reclamation area of PT. Minemex Indonesia. Based on scoring against the seven selection criteria, there are 12 local tree species that have the potential for use in post-coal mining land revegetation at PT. Minemex Indonesia. These species are Vitex pubescens, Beilschmiedia gemmiflora, Alstonia scholaris, Macaranga gigantea, Bellucia pentamera, Syzygium palembanicum, Cratoxylum arborescens, Aquilaria malaccensis, Durio zibethinus, Syzygium cf. griffithii, Syzygium polyanthum, and Parkia speciosa. The planting of local tree species for post-mining land revegetation is carried out by considering important aspects in the stages of land preparation, nursery, planting, and maintenance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative advantage of beef cattle in three livestock center subdistricts of Bima Regency, namely Woha, Monta, and Bolo, using the Location Quotient (LQ) approach and a value chain analysis of beef cattle producers in Bima Regency. The LQ analysis was conducted by comparing the contribution of the beef cattle population in each subdistrict to the total beef cattle population in Bima Regency and West Nusa Tenggara Province. The results show that the three subdistricts have LQ values > 1, indicating that beef cattle are a basic commodity in the region. This study also examines the beef cattle value chain in Bima Regency, which has not yet been efficient due to limitations in technology, productivity, and the bargaining position of farmers. Strengthening an integrated upstream–downstream system is required to increase value added and regional economic competitiveness.
