Abstract

The potential tourism attractions of Donggala Regency are important to develop into sustainable tourism attractions because tourism plays a strategic role in supporting regional economic growth and improving community welfare. One of the most promising destinations in this area is Tanjung Karang, which has natural coastal beauty and cultural potential that can attract both domestic and international tourists. However, the main problem raised in this research is how to improve the amenities of Tanjung Karang to enhance tourist comfort when visiting Banawa District, Donggala Regency. Inadequate supporting facilities, limited infrastructure, and insufficient tourism services are still obstacles that reduce visitor satisfaction and length of stay. Research data collection was conducted through observation and interviews using qualitative research methodology to obtain an in-depth understanding of existing conditions, stakeholder perceptions, and challenges faced in tourism development. The findings indicate that to support sustainability, infrastructure such as access roads, accommodation facilities, sanitation, and public amenities must be added and improved. In addition, tourism marketing must be developed through digital promotion, branding strategies, and collaboration with tourism stakeholders. These efforts are expected to attract more tourists to Tanjung Karang, increase visitor satisfaction, create employment opportunities for local communities, and boost the growth of the tourism industry in Donggala Regency in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

Abstract

Jamur susu harimau (Lignosus rhinocerus) merupakan tumbuhan langka yang telah lama digunakan secara tradisional dan memiliki potensi besar sebagai agen antibakteri dan antioksidan, terutama di tengah meningkatnya masalah resistensi antibiotik. Hal ini didukung oleh kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, steroid, tannin, alkaloid, dan saponin yang berperan penting dalam melawan infeksi bakteri patogen dan menetralkan radikal bebas penyebab kerusakan sel. Penelitian eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara kuantitatif aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol jamur susu harimau terhadap bakteri Gram-positif Staphylococcus aureus dan Gram-negatif Escherichia coli, serta mengevaluasi kapasitas antioksidannya menggunakan dua metode komplementer, yaitu DPPH dan FRAP. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dari serbuk simplisia, dan pengujian aktivitas dilakukan pada tiga variasi konsentrasi: 50%, 60%, dan 70%. Hasil uji antibakteri menunjukkan aktivitas yang kuat dan bersifat konsentrasi-tergantung. Pada konsentrasi 70%, diameter zona hambat mencapai 20,40 mm untuk S. aureus dan 16,30 mm untuk E. coli. Pada uji antioksidan, ekstrak menunjukkan kemampuan yang signifikan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 86,15 ppm (metode DPPH) dan 77,13 ppm (metode FRAP), yang termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Secara keseluruhan, hasil ini tidak hanya mengonfirmasi potensi jamur susu harimau sebagai sumber senyawa bioaktif alami, tetapi juga memberikan dasar ilmiah yang kuat untuk pengembangannya lebih lanjut sebagai agen terapeutik baru dalam mengatasi infeksi bakteri dan mitigasi stres oksidatif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of third-grade teachers to utilize visual image media in Natural Science (Science) instruction at SDN 1 Tembeng Putik during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that at the planning stage, teachers had not optimally and systematically incorporated the use of visual image media into the lesson plans. At the implementation stage, visual image media were used fairly frequently; however, classroom interaction was still predominantly teacher-centered through lecture-based methods with limited discussion. At the evaluation stage, visual image media had not yet been integrated into the development of assessment instruments. Factors influencing teachers’ ability to use visual image media include teacher motivation, teaching experience, and understanding of instructional media (internal factors), as well as the availability of facilities, school support, and professional training (external factors). This study recommends strengthening professional development related to instructional media use and enhancing school support to optimize the utilization of visual image media in Science learning.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the learning motivation of PKN students by using a make a match type cooperative learning model at SDN 01 Mamben Daya. This type of research is a class action research (PTK) which is conducted in two cycles with the Kemmis & Mc Taggart research model consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subject of this study is grade III students of SDN 01 Mamben Daya totaling 16 students in semester 2 of the 2024/2025 school year. The results of this study can be explained as follows: in the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model, there is an increase in student learning motivation in each cycle, which can be proven by the results of questionnaires and interviews that have been conducted on students. Where the results of the questionnaire showed that in the pre-cycle there were 4 students who were motivated with a classical percentage of 25% and an average student motivation of 48% while in the first cycle there were 9 students who experienced an increase in learning motivation with classical completeness of 56.25% and an average student learning motivation of 59%. Meanwhile, in cycle II there were 15 students who experienced an increase in learning motivation with a classical percentage of 93.75% and the average student learning motivation in cycle II was 74%. So that in the second cycle it was declared successful because the increase in student learning motivation has reached the previously agreed success criteria of 70%.

Abstract

The results of the study show that. The first test showed that the average reading ability of students was in the sufficient category, with an average score of 67.75%. The category distribution showed that most students (68.75%) were in the adequate category, while only 12.5% of students were in the very good category. These findings indicate that there are general difficulties among students in understanding the content of the reading, summarizing information, and reexpressing the content of the story in a sequential manner. However, after a more targeted learning intervention, the second test showed a significant improvement with the average score increasing to 78.44%. The number of students in the very good category increased to 37.5%, and those in the good category reached 31.25%. These results show that students have literacy potential that can be developed more optimally with the right support. From the results of the interview, it is known that there are two main factors that affect students' low reading literacy skills, namely internal factors (low reading interest, lack of motivation to learn, and limitations in reading comprehension), as well as external factors (limited supporting facilities and infrastructure, lack of interesting reading materials, and lack of parental involvement). These findings confirm the importance of the role of schools and families in creating an environment that supports the growth of literacy culture.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes at the elementary school level remain a persistent challenge, particularly in IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) learning. This condition is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include students’ limited understanding of learning materials and their low level of active participation during the learning process. External factors are reflected in teacher-centered instructional practices and the lack of integration between learning content and students’ real-life contexts. These conditions result in low learning motivation and suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Grade IV IPAS at MI MT Lengkok Tengak. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 students, comprising 16 male and 9 female students. The learning intervention was carried out by applying the CTL model, which emphasizes connecting learning materials with students’ real-life experiences and surrounding environment. Data were collected through classroom observations, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using simple qualitative data analysis techniques. The findings showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, indicated by an increase in the percentage of learning mastery from 64% in Cycle I to 92% in Cycle II. Therefore, the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Classroom Action Research was proven effective in improving IPAS learning outcomes of Grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

This research addresses the cognitive crisis in primary science education caused by "digital reductionism," which frequently triggers disembodied learning. Excessive reliance on static screen simulations has led to a disconnect between a student’s cognitive processes and physical reality. This study aims to mitigate this gap through a re-materialization strategy, utilizing the frameworks of Material Engagement Theory (MET) and Embodied Cognition. The primary objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of haptic intervention implemented through a Cognitive Interactive Pop-Up Book integrated with an Inquiry Science Approach (ISA). A mixed-methods research design with an Exploratory Sequential approach was employed, involving 60 fifth-grade students. Quantitative data were analyzed using MANCOVA to assess the intervention's impact on dependent variables simultaneously. The results indicate a highly significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group’s post-test HOTS score reached 82.5, significantly outperforming the control group’s 65.0. Similarly, in Fluid Creativity, the experimental group achieved 78.4 compared to the control group’s 58.2 (p < .001). Specifically, the haptic group showed sharp increases in high-level cognitive indicators: Analysis (Gain 38.6) and Evaluation (Gain 36.4), with a substantial Effect Size of 0.42 (Partial Eta Squared). These findings empirically confirm that physical re-materialization serves as a "cognitive prosthetic," bridging the gap between abstract concepts and physical reality through sensorimotor feedback. This study concludes that activating the hands as "thinking senses" is crucial for developing embodied knowledge and adaptive creativity in primary education.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a crucial sector in the Indonesian economy due to their significant contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment absorption. In an increasingly competitive digital era, MSMEs are required to adapt by utilizing data-driven communication technologies to enhance business competitiveness. One relevant approach is Big Data Analytics (BDA), which enables business actors to process large volumes of data to support decision-making and communication strategies. However, the adoption of big data among digital MSMEs remains limited and uneven. This study aims to explore digital MSMEs’ understanding of the big data concept, examine the forms of its utilization in communication practices, and identify the challenges encountered in its implementation in Makassar. The research employed an exploratory qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and focus group discussions, and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that most digital MSMEs have a limited understanding of big data and tend to utilize data in relatively simple ways, particularly for basic digital marketing activities. he most significant barrier to big data adoption is not solely technical or financial constraints, but also the low level of strategic urgency among MSME actors in recognizing big data as a critical resource for long-term business development. Key challenges include limited human resources, financial constraints, and inadequate technological infrastructure. Nevertheless, several MSMEs have begun to experience positive benefits from data utilization, especially in supporting digital communication and improving overall business performance.

Abstract

Pacu Jawi is a traditional Minangkabau cultural practice characterized by dynamic movement, emotional intensity, and a close relationship between humans and the agrarian landscape. However, audiovisual representations of Pacu Jawi often remain limited to surface-level documentation, without conveying deeper cultural meanings. This study highlights a novel contribution by examining cinematography as a strategic approach for cultural representation in documentary video, rather than treating documentary as merely an archival record. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the research analyzes a Pacu Jawi documentary through shot composition, camera angles, movement, lighting, color, and visual rhythm. The findings show that wide shots establish cultural space and environmental identity, while close-ups emphasize emotional expression and human–animal interaction. Dynamic handheld and tracking movements enhance immersion, supported by natural lighting and warm tones that reinforce authenticity. The study concludes that cinematographic strategies transform documentary video into an active medium for communicating Pacu Jawi’s traditional values. This research contributes academically to visual communication studies and practically informs filmmakers and cultural institutions in preserving local traditions.

Abstract

Drought is a recurring hydrometeorological hazard in Indonesia, particularly affecting regions with high rainfall variability and rainfed agriculture dependence. This study analyzes spatial-temporal drought patterns in Jatirogo Subdistrict, Tuban Regency, East Java (2020-2025) using the Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI) from Sentinel-2 imagery. The methodology involved image preprocessing, NDVI and NDWI calculation, NDDI derivation, and GIS-based drought classification. Results show strong seasonal patterns with peak severity during August-October, where moderate to severe drought dominated 65-80% of the area annually. The most severe conditions occurred in 2023-2024, with NDDI values exceeding 1.0. Villages including Kebonharjo, Sugihan, Demit, Bader, and Sekaran were identified as highly vulnerable. NDDI-based mapping revealed significant correlations with sectoral impacts: severe drought periods (NDDI > 0.8) corresponded with 40-60% crop yield reductions in rainfed paddies, increased irrigation demand, critical groundwater depletion, and elevated food security vulnerabilities among smallholder farmers. This study demonstrates that Sentinel-2 NDDI integration with GIS effectively supports village-level drought monitoring and provides essential spatial information for targeted mitigation strategies, including water resource management, adaptive agricultural planning, and early warning systems.
