Abstract

This study aims to design an eco-friendly resort based on an organic architecture approach on Asu Island, Sirombu District, West Nias Regency, North Sumatra Province. The design with an organic architectural approach aims to create a space that can harmonize the indoor space with the outdoor space and can provide a space experience close to nature for resort users. In more detail, the design of eco-friendly resorts on Asu Island aims to meet tourist accommodation needs, facilitate space with attention to tourists, and analyze energy sources and utility systems on Asu Island. The site's location is right on the edge of the sea coast off Asu Island, Sirombu District, West Nias Regency, and is directly opposite the Indian Ocean. The site location selection method is measured from indicators including view, surrounding function, environment, soil condition, an overview of city structure, and accessibility. The location selection for the site was chosen based on several considerations such as view, the location of the resort that is separated from the city crowd, tourist convenience, searching for site locations via google maps and conducting direct surveys to determine site conditions. The approach used in this design is a literature study, a user approach by searching for user room data in resort design, and field studies that are directly carried out to review the condition of the site and the area around the site

Abstract

The design of a rental office in the sub-district of Medan Sunggal is a design for a rental office located in one of the business centres in the city of Medan, precisely in the sub-district of Medan Sunggal with the theme of tropical architecture. The problem that business actors or novice freelancers often face when trying to take independent steps to open new jobs due to Indonesia’s low level of employment is worrying about the high cost of office rentals like conventional office rentals in general. This rental office implements a serviced office system (office ready to use) which aims to make it easier for tenants, especially in terms of finances. The settlement method used is the descriptive method used in the design based on analytical reasoning and empirical structural research, along with identifying things that support the method. The use of a tropical architectural theme refers to the climate of Medan, which tends to be tropical and can be utilized by maximizing energy savings from natural sunlight. This rental office is expected to be good news for business actors, freelancers, and stakeholders in overcoming problems regarding the need for rental offices in the Medan Sunggal sub-district.

Abstract

The population that continues to grow every time affects the total wastewater that is accommodated and channeled by drainage. This study aims to evaluate the existing condition of drainage dimensions on Tuamang Road, Medan. To determine whether the drainage can still channel the design wastewater discharge for the next 10, 20, and 30-year return periods or if it requires re-planning. The descriptive-evaluative method is used to evaluate drainage with stages starting from collecting data on population, annual rainfall, and measuring the dimensions of drainage channels; hydrological analysis, population projections for 10, 20, and 30-year; and evaluation of drainage channels. The research location is on Tuamang Road with a length of 1,200 m from Domestic House No. 130 to No. 101. The drainage system on Tuamang Road can still channel rainwater runoff and household waste for up to 10-year, based on analysis. 20 and 30-year, the dimensions must be enlarged to 1.0 m (bottom width) and 0.7 m (wet height of the channel). Cleaning sediment at the channel bottom must continue regularly to ensure the drainage system is working properly

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country that has a sea area of 5.8 million km², with enormous potential for marine products. The fisheries sector is one of the things that supports the third largest Indonesian economy with a GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of Rp 1.900 billion. There are many fishery ports in Indonesia commonly referred to as Fish Landing Base. In North Sumatra itself, there are 23 Fish Landing Base, and one of the areas that include it in the RTRW (Regional Spatial Plan) is Serdang Bedagai Regency, especially in Cermin Beach sub-district. However, the fact that the fisheries sector is not the main attraction of the Pantai Cermin area indicates no fishery center. This Fish Landing Base uses problem-solving to solve existing problems, starting from the formulation stage, location surveys, data collection, literature studies, and comparative studies. To respond these issues, ecological architecture becomes the answer to the problem of design conditions, such as responding according to local conditions both from society and nature. Fish Landing Base in Pantai Cermin expect to respond to users comfortably, creates interaction between users and the environment, and can also form a public space so that it can encourage economic generators based on sources of life in coastal areas, and so become one of the new tourist destinations to enjoy the marine products of Indonesia, especially in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatera.

Abstract

Economic activity in Indonesia is one of the driving forces for people's lives in general. A traditional market building is one of the places where economic activity occurs, making it important to pay attention to its quality in terms of architecture and building management. However, the existence of traditional markets in Indonesia is synonymous with unmanaged and uncomfortable conditions. It can be found in almost all existing traditional markets. As a result, the government moved to repair traditional markets. It is the same as the Bandung City government, which revitalized the Sarijadi Bandung Traditional Market into a contemporary-style market, which the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, then used as a model for markets in Bandung City. The purpose of this study is to investigate and determine what is meant by contemporary meaning in the Sarijadi Contemporary Market building. The goal of this study was to add literature, references, and insights about architectural design in a contemporary-style market building, specifically the Sarijadi Contemporary Market in Bandung.
