Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of a gamification-based interactive learning media created with Canva to support early Arabic reading instruction for children aged 4-5 years. The media is designed to enhance learning engagement, strengthen recognition of Hijaiyah letters, and support children’s ability to identify letter shapes and sounds through visually appealing and interactive digital learning experiences suited to early childhood developmental characteristics. Method: This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. During the development stage, the learning media was created using Canva and integrated with gamification elements such as step-by-step learning progression, visual rewards, simple navigation, and child-friendly visual design. The product was validated by experts in three aspects: content feasibility, instructional and media design, and language appropriateness. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed descriptively to determine the validity level of the developed media. Results: The validation results showed that all assessed aspects content feasibility, instructional and media design, and language appropriateness obtained an average score of 4.00, categorized as very valid. The Aiken’s V coefficient for all aspects was 0.75, indicating a high level of content validity and strong agreement between experts. Minor revisions were suggested, particularly in simplifying game instructions and enhancing visual variation to better suit young learners. These findings suggest that the Canva-based gamified interactive media is suitable for use in early Arabic reading instruction for children aged 4-5 years and has the potential to create a more engaging, enjoyable, and participatory early learning experience. Conclusion: The developed gamification-based interactive learning media is considered valid and feasible as a digital learning resource for introducing early Arabic reading skills to children aged 4-5 years. Its visual and interactive features make it a promising tool for increasing learning motivation and supporting early literacy development. Further research is recommended to examine the effectiveness of this media in improving children’s reading outcomes in direct classroom learning contexts.

Abstract

This study examines how the values of religious tolerance are taught in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes at SMA Negeri 1 Karangdowo, Klaten, and the superior methods used by PAI teachers to achieve this. Data were collected through interviews with PAI teachers, student observations, and document analysis using a descriptive qualitative approach with field and phenomenological approaches. Triangulation and the Miles and Huberman model were used for validation. The findings demonstrate how interactive learning, group projects, extracurricular activities, and teacher role models such as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are used to instill the ideals of tolerance. Teachers have effectively built inclusive classrooms that foster social cohesion, tolerance, and respect for individual diversity. To develop the principles of tolerance in schools, collaborative and inclusive learning methodologies and teacher role models are crucial. According to the study's findings, active learning strategies, classroom rules, and teacher role models all play a key role in helping students develop tolerant personalities.

Abstract

Orphanages function as social institutions where in their daily lives, children are cared for, educated, guided, directed, given affection, provided with daily needs and given skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of discipline and participation development of children at the Aisyiyah Grogol Sukoharjo Orphanage. This type of qualitative research was conducted at the Aisyiyah Grogol Sukoharjo Orphanage on December 1-4, 2025. The sources of this study were the head of the Aisyiyah Grogol Sukoharjo Orphanage, Mrs. Siti Parini, and the orphanage caretaker, Umi Aminah. Data collection techniques were through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study are that (1) The forms of discipline development at the Aisyiyah Grogol Sukoharjo Orphanage include congregational prayers on time, on duty on time. (2) Participation of orphanage children in disciplinary development at the Aisyiyah Grogol Sukoharjo Orphanage for Girls through daily activities, religious development, and character development of orphans.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including the teaching and learning of Islamic Religious Education. Consequently, integrating technology has become an essential requirement to ensure that learning remains relevant and effective in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the urgency of technology integration in Islamic Religious Education, identify the challenges encountered in its implementation, and explore strategies to optimize the use of technology while maintaining Islamic values. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected through a systematic review of relevant literature, including books, peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, and academic documents related to Islamic Religious Education, educational technology, and digital literacy. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques through classification, comparison, examination, and synthesis of findings to obtain a comprehensive understanding. The results indicate that technology integration in Islamic Religious Education can enhance students’ learning motivation, active participation, and understanding of Islamic values through digital media, online learning platforms, and blended learning models. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including limited digital literacy among teachers and students, inadequate infrastructure, digital distractions, and the risk of misinterpreting Islamic teachings due to unreliable online information. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of sustainable strategies, such as improving teachers’ digital competencies, strengthening students’ digital literacy, applying prudent learning management, and fostering collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents to ensure effective, meaningful, and value-based integration of technology in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of pedagogy, social environment, and self-regulation in building engagement in learning the Quran at TPQ Miftahul Jannah. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the application of the Qiro'aty method, the creation of a religious and enjoyable learning atmosphere, and positive social interactions between teachers and students were able to increase student engagement in learning. However, student self-regulation still needs to be strengthened through ongoing mentoring. This study confirms that the synergy between effective pedagogy, a conducive environment, and strengthening self-regulation is the key to engagement in learning the Quran.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize the patterns of use, levels of reliance, ethical issues, and pedagogical implications of student reliance on AI in completing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) assignments, and to formulate practical implications for curriculum development, pedagogy, and educational policy in Islamic education in the digital era. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 37 empirical and conceptual articles published in 2021-2026. Articles were selected from a collection discussing AI in education, with a focus on the Islamic context. The synthesis process was conducted thematically to identify patterns of use, levels of reliance, ethical issues, and pedagogical implications. Two usage patterns were found: AI as a technical tool and as a source of religious content. The level of reliance varied from critical-instrumental to excessive. Ethical issues included violations of academic integrity, erosion of scholarly authority, threats to spiritual development, as well as algorithmic bias and data privacy. Pedagogical implications emphasized assessment transformation, the integration of critical AI literacy based on Islamic values, and strengthening the teacher's role as a moral guide. This study provides the first systematic map of AI reliance dynamics in PAI, where technical, cognitive, and spiritual dimensions intersect. The findings establish an evidence base for creating Islamic ethical guidelines, designing AI-resistant assessments, and strengthening the teacher's role as a moral guide and knowledge curator. It proposes integrating principles like ḥifẓ al-‘aql (intellect preservation), al-amanah al ‘ilmiyyah (knowledge trust), and maṣlaḥah (public benefit) as an essential normative framework to balance technological innovation with educational integrity.

Abstract

Development digital technology has bring significant changes to the behavioral patterns, value systems, and character of Generation Z. The high intensity of digital media use without value guidance has the potential to weaken religious character, such as a decrease in religious awareness, low media ethics, and a tendency towards individualism. This condition demands the role of adaptive and contextual Islamic education in shaping the religious character of Generation Z in the digital era. This study aims to analyze educational strategies Islam, as well as methods and educational approach Islam in shaping the religious character of generation Z amidst the development of digital technology. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data were collected through documentation and scientific literature searches in the form of national and international journal articles, several of which are available. indexed on Google Scholars, and academic documents that discuss Islamic education, religious character, generation Z, and the development of digital technology, which published in the period 2021–2026, with focus on the theme education Islam, character religious, generation Z, And digital technology . Data analysis was conducted using content analysis with a thematic approach, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that effective Islamic education strategies for shaping the religious character of Generation Z include integrating Islamic values with digital technology, strengthening holistic religious character education, exemplary educators, and collaboration between schools, families, and the digital environment. Furthermore, religious habituation methods, including dia logue, And reflective, as well as approach humanistic, contextual, And integrative proven relevant in internalizing religious values in generation Z. This study concludes that education Islam own role strategic in form character religious Generation Z in the digital era if designed adaptively, sustainably, and in line with the dynamics of technological developments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the concepts of halal and haram as an ethical foundation in the practice of selling food in Sushi Hiro restaurants that do not have official halal certification, reviewed from the perspective of sharia economic law. The theoretical framework of this research is based on the concepts of halal and haram in Islamic fiqh, the principles of sharia economic law, and maqasid al-sharia, especially the protection of religion (hifz al-din), soul (hifz al-nafs), and property (hifz al-mal). The framework is used to assess the ethical responsibility of business actors as well as legal certainty in modern culinary business practices. The literature review refers to previous research on halal certification and the protection of Muslim consumers, especially generation Z. The literature shows that halal certification plays an important role in building Muslim consumer trust, although generation Z's consumption decisions are often influenced by lifestyle and social trends. Studies on non-halal certified Japanese restaurants from the perspective of sharia economic law are still relatively limited. The research methodology uses a normative-descriptive qualitative approach with case studies. The type of research is in the form of library research that utilizes secondary data, such as laws and regulations, fiqh muamalah literature, sharia economic law books, and relevant journal articles. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive-analytical manner by linking legal norms and sharia principles to the practice of selling food at Sushi Hiro. The results of the study show that the absence of halal certification puts Sushi Hiro products in the category of syubhat and has the potential to contain gharar elements due to the unclear ingredients and production process. In addition, the consumption of Generation Z Muslims is more influenced by trends than by halal certainty. These findings affirm the importance of transparency, ethical responsibility of business actors, and halal certification as an instrument of consumer protection and increasing public trust.

Abstract

The acceleration of the digitalization of education and the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into the classroom have created a "digital paradox": technologies designed to improve the quality of learning can simultaneously have opposite impacts, such as decreased motivation, weakened deep understanding, threats to academic integrity, and inequality in learning outcomes. This study aims to map and synthesize empirical evidence on the relationship between the use of AI/digital education and academic performance, as well as identify the conditions that make its impact stronger or weaker. The method used is a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with Scopus as a single database. The search uses structured Boolean strings in the range of 2021–2025, open access journal articles, Social Sciences/Arts and Humanities, and English. From the initial 562 articles, it was filtered down to 38, and through relevance screening based on title–abstract–content verification reading, 9 studies that met the inclusion criteria were obtained. Narrative synthesis shows evidence that the impact of AI on academic performance is contextual and not always consistent: some studies highlight benefits (learning support, personalization, early warning, acceleration of assessment), while others emphasize affective trade offs (interest/motivation), risks of cognitive "shortcut" behavior, and validity-fairness issues in digital assessments. These findings confirm that the impact of AI is more determined by task–AI fit, AI literacy and ethics, assessment design that assesses thought processes, and equity-sensitive school governance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding of verses related to the Essence of Allah (Dhat Allah) in the Qur'an through a thematic exegesis approach (tafsīr al-maudhū'i) and to compare the theological interpretations of three major Sunni schools: Salaf (Ahl al-Sunnah), Ash‘ariyah, and Maturidiyah. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach based on library research. The data are derived from classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, theological works, and relevant academic journals. Thematic exegesis is applied by collecting, classifying, and analyzing Qur’anic verses concerning the divine attributes, followed by a comparative analysis of the interpretative methods used by the three theological schools. Results: The findings indicate that the Salaf school adopts a textual approach by accepting the verses as they appear without interpretation (tafwīḍ), while the Ash‘ariyah employ a mediating approach by applying ta’wīl to verses that may imply anthropomorphism. Meanwhile, the Maturidiyah demonstrate a stronger rational tendency by interpreting most of the ambiguous (khabariyyah) attributes to preserve the purity of monotheism (tawḥīd). Originality/Value: This study highlights that the differences among the three schools are methodological rather than ideological, reflecting the richness of Islamic intellectual tradition. It contributes to contemporary theological discourse by promoting a moderate and tolerant understanding of the mutashābihāt verses related to the Essence of Allah, particularly in responding to modern theological challenges.
