Abstract

Islamic educational institutions face the challenge of integrating information technology into their programs to enhance their long-term sustainability and effectiveness. However, there is limited research on how tahfidzul Qur'an programs can incorporate technological advances for improved school development. This study addresses this gap by exploring the development of an information technology-based tahfidzul Qur'an school program at Al Azhar International Islamic Boarding School. Utilizing an exploratory descriptive qualitative method, the research gathers insights from the school's founder to identify key strategies. The results indicate that careful planning, monitoring, and evaluation are essential for achieving long-term educational goals. Human resource development, seen as a valuable institutional asset, must be prioritized through regular training. Additionally, optimizing information media is crucial to increase the institution's visibility and attract prospective students. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on integrating technology into religious education management. The implications suggest that effective use of technology in tahfidzul Qur'an school programs can align graduate outcomes with the institution's vision and mission, setting a model for similar educational programs seeking sustainable development. Highlights: Strategic long-term planning is vital for program success. Human resource quality is crucial for institutional growth. Abstract

General Background: The promotion of Arabic language proficiency is crucial in Islamic educational institutions, particularly in boarding schools. Specific Background: At the S-PEAM Putri Islamic Boarding School in Pasuruan City, the concept of Arabiyah bi'ah encompasses both formal and non-formal methods of language acquisition, yet the effectiveness of these implementations remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Existing literature lacks comprehensive qualitative analyses that address both the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting language acquisition in such settings. Aims: This study aims to investigate the implementation of Arabiyah bi'ah at S-PEAM Putri and identify the factors that contribute to or hinder its effectiveness. Results: The research reveals two distinct types of Arabiyah bi'ah: formal practices, which involve structured lessons focusing on grammar and vocabulary, and non-formal practices, such as language circles and multimedia engagement. Internal supporting factors include self-awareness and discipline, while external factors encompass environmental influences and instructional support. Inhibiting factors identified include a lack of motivation and external distractions such as family visits and curriculum inconsistencies. Novelty: This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing Milles and Huberman's analytical techniques and SWOT analysis to provide a nuanced understanding of the dynamics within the boarding school context. Implications: Findings underscore the importance of fostering a supportive environment for Arabic language acquisition, highlighting the need for consistent implementation of language practices to enhance student engagement and proficiency. Abstract

General Background: Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as a transformative technology in educational media, particularly for language learning. Specific Background: In the context of Arabic language acquisition, traditional methods often lack engaging, interactive elements that enhance vocabulary retention. Knowledge Gap: Existing literature has not sufficiently explored the integration of AR technology in vocabulary learning, particularly for specific themes like time. Aims: This study aims to develop AR Flashcards to facilitate mastery of vocabulary related to time in Arabic language learning at MA/SMA Muhammadiyah, utilizing the ADDIE model for product development. Results: The resulting Flashcards consist of thirteen interactive cards that present vocabulary in a sequence, enriching the learning experience through visual and gamified elements. Students can scan QR codes with minimal smartphone specifications, enhancing accessibility. Novelty: This research introduces a novel educational tool that combines AR technology with structured learning, providing a memorable and effective approach to vocabulary acquisition. Implications: The findings suggest that AR Flashcards can significantly improve students' understanding and retention of Arabic vocabulary, highlighting the potential for technology-enhanced learning environments in language education. Abstract

General Background: The use of technology in educational assessments has become increasingly important for evaluating student competencies. Specific Background: In Tsanawiyah madrasas, the implementation of smartphone-based assessments (SBT) in Qur'an-Hadith subjects presents unique challenges and opportunities, yet empirical analysis of its application remains limited. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have not comprehensively addressed the operational aspects and the context of SBT implementation in this specific educational setting. Aims: This research aims to analyze the application of SBT as an assessment medium in Tsanawiyah madrasas, focusing on its implementation, infrastructure, advantages, and challenges. Results: The findings indicate that the SBT is aligned with the standards set by the Educational Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment Agency (BSKAP) and is generally well-received, supported by adequate infrastructure and enthusiasm from educators and students. However, challenges such as network instability, power outages, and proctoring issues impede its effectiveness. Novelty: This study provides a qualitative insight into the practical dynamics of SBT in an Islamic educational context, emphasizing both supportive and obstructive factors. Implications: The results highlight the need for improved technological support and training to mitigate challenges, suggesting that enhanced collaboration between educators and technical teams could foster more effective assessment practices in madrasas. Abstract

General Background: Cooperative learning methodologies have gained prominence in educational settings for their potential to enhance student engagement and comprehension. Specific Background: Among these, the Teams Accelerated Instruction (TAI) model has shown promise, particularly in mathematics education, yet its specific impacts in the context of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah remain underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Despite existing literature on cooperative learning, there is a lack of qualitative studies that examine TAI's effectiveness from a phenomenological perspective in Indonesian primary education. Aims: This study aims to investigate the teaching practices of a grade IV mathematics teacher using the TAI method and to assess its effectiveness in promoting learning outcomes. Results: Utilizing qualitative research methods, including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, findings indicate that TAI significantly enhances student collaboration and understanding of mathematical concepts, fostering a more interactive classroom environment. Novelty: This research contributes a phenomenological perspective to cooperative learning, highlighting the lived experiences of both teacher and students within the TAI framework. Implications: The insights gained underscore the importance of implementing cooperative learning strategies like TAI in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, offering practical implications for educators aiming to improve pedagogical practices and student learning outcomes in mathematics. Abstract

General Background: The implementation of the independent curriculum in Indonesia aims to cultivate competencies aligned with national educational goals, particularly the Pancasila learner profile (P5). Specific Background: Despite the curriculum's introduction, there is limited research on its practical applications within Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, particularly regarding its alignment with local wisdom and sustainability themes. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have not adequately explored the effectiveness of the independent curriculum in fostering Pancasila competencies among students. Aims: This study analyzes the independent curriculum as a vehicle for implementing the P5 project at MIN 2 Pasuruan, focusing on its processes and outcomes. Results: Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the research identifies that, although implementation is still developing, MIN 2 Pasuruan has effectively integrated local wisdom and sustainable practices into its curriculum. The findings demonstrate that project-based co-curricular activities contribute significantly to developing students' competencies and character in line with the Pancasila learner profile. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the application of the independent curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah settings, emphasizing local cultural relevance. Implications: The study underscores the importance of continued adaptation and enhancement of the independent curriculum to better support the holistic development of Pancasila learners, offering practical recommendations for educators and policymakers. General Background: The "law of attraction" has been widely discussed in psychology and spirituality, often centered on ideas of energy, intent, and outcome, primarily from a Western perspective. Specific Background: However, Islamic texts also address these concepts, framing them as divine laws that influence an individual’s actions and outcomes. Knowledge Gap: Despite these intersections, few studies have examined the laws of attraction and repulsion from both Islamic and psychological perspectives, highlighting a gap in understanding their practical implications within an Islamic framework. Aims: This research aims to provide a nuanced analysis of these laws, using linguistic and jurisprudential approaches to align Islamic beliefs with modern psychological concepts. Abstract

Background: Criminal settlement has emerged as a vital alternative to conventional criminal trials, offering procedural efficiency and fostering reconciliation. Specific Background: In Iraq, the practice has gained traction, yet its legislative and institutional frameworks remain underdeveloped. Knowledge Gap: Despite growing application, limited research exists on Iraq’s legal structure governing criminal settlements and its alignment with comparative international models. Aims: This study aims to critically examine the historical evolution and legal framework of criminal settlement in Iraq, assess its practical implications on judicial processes, and compare Iraq’s approach with selected Arab and global systems to propose reforms. Results: The findings indicate that criminal settlements enhance court efficiency, promote social harmony, and assist victim recovery; however, several procedural and regulatory deficiencies persist. Novelty: The study uniquely integrates doctrinal analysis, judicial review, and comparative law to uncover the systemic limitations of Iraq’s settlement procedures while incorporating restorative justice theory. Implications: The research advocates for establishing judicial reconciliation units, enhancing judge and prosecutor training, implementing public awareness campaigns, and restricting settlements in cases demanding public accountability. Abstract

General Background: Contemporary Qur'anic interpretation often finds itself at the crossroads of tradition and modernity. Specific Background: One such tension is observable in the contrast between Mohamed Arkoun’s modernist hermeneutics and the traditional Shi‘i Imami exegetical framework. Knowledge Gap: While Arkoun's secular methodologies challenge established religious paradigms, limited research has critically examined their compatibility with metaphysically grounded Imami thought. Aims: This study critically analyzes Arkoun’s interpretive discourse through the lens of Imami hermeneutics, aiming to assess epistemological and methodological intersections. Results: It reveals fundamental divergences regarding the nature of the Qur’an—Arkoun treating it as a cultural construct subject to historical critique, while Imami thought preserves its divine, miraculous essence through a sacred interpretive tradition. Novelty: The paper juxtaposes Arkoun’s use of linguistics, anthropology, and sociology of knowledge with the theological underpinnings of Imami exegesis, offering an original comparative framework. Implications: The study concludes by evaluating the potential and limits of integrating modernist insights into traditional Islamic interpretation, thereby contributing to the broader discourse on reconciling critical methodologies with religious orthodoxy. Abstract

General Background: Islam places a high value on knowledge, making education a fundamental right and duty for all, regardless of gender. Specific Background: Historically, Muslim women played essential roles as educators and scholars, supported by Islamic teachings that promote learning. Knowledge Gap: However, in some Islamic societies today, especially in Afghanistan, women face restricted access to education due to social and political factors, despite Islamic encouragement. Aims: This research aims to reaffirm the right of women to education and work within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence and to propose appropriate educational models aligned with Sharia. Results: The findings show that Islam permits and, in some cases, obliges women to pursue religious and scientific knowledge, and allows work outside the home when necessary. Novelty: By referencing classical and contemporary Islamic sources, the study clarifies misconceptions and offers practical, religiously grounded solutions for women’s access to education. Implications: This research highlights the need for governments to create separate, safe, and Sharia-compliant educational environments for women, reinforcing their role in nurturing future generations within Islamic societies.Highlight : Education is a right and obligation for women in Islam, grounded in religious texts and scholarly consensus. Teaching both religious and natural sciences to women is essential for individual and societal development.
