Abstract

The vertical market integration of the shallot market system in Gorontalo Province is a method that can be used to estimate the price movements at each level of marketing (farmers, marketing agents, and consumers), thereby facilitating long-run and short-run equilibrium. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the vertical market integration formed between marketing channels for the shallot market in Gorontalo Province. The Engel-Granger cointegration method was used to analyze long-run equilibrium, while ECM (Error Correction Models) was utilized for short-run equilibrium estimation. The cointegration test results showed that markets at farmer and marketing agent levels, marketing agent and consumer levels, as well as farmer and consumer levels, were cointegrated. This indicated the presence of long-run equilibrium and vertical market integration. The ECM test results revealed that in the short-run equilibrium, markets at farmer and marketing agent levels, marketing agent and consumers levels, as well as farmer and consumer levels were integrated within an estimated adjustment time of one month. Based on these findings, the shallot marketing system in Gorontalo Province was vertically integrated between the marketing agents involved

Abstract

This paper examined the role of waqf (endowment) on social welfare financing in Nigeria. Waqf, an endowment (donation), is one social welfare tool in Islam guided by Islamic law. Sustainable wellbeing is one of the goals of Waqf. This is one of the means through which Islam finances charitable organizations. The expository method is used in this work. In order to properly utilize permanent societal contributions, the institution of waqf can fill the void as a social finance institution by offering intermediation services. The waqf's flexible regulations allow it to offer a broad range of social services and to assist recipients directly or through financial institutions. The paper explained the concept of waqf and made a case for the practical applications of waqf; it recommended more public awareness of the institution and a more efficient means of leveraging the potential of altruistic giving for improved economic outcomes in the targeted social segments of society.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the hidden reality of financial crime in the context of public procurement using a phenomenological approach. Through in-depth analyses of the experiences of financial criminals, procurement officials, and the communities involved, the research identifies the factors that drive fraud in the procurement process. The results show that the complexity of the procurement system, local social, economic and cultural pressures play a key role in the dynamics of financial crime. Dissatisfaction with complex procurement procedures and pressure to achieve a certain status are the main triggers for fraud. The implications of this research underscore the need for reforms in the procurement system, increased transparency and accountability. Practical suggestions involve additional education and training for procurement officials, addressing social pressure through social programs, and strengthening internal and external oversight. By highlighting the long-term impact of fraud in public procurement, this research provides a basis for policy and practice changes to create an environment of greater integrity and efficiency in the use of public funds. Collaboration with stakeholders, including researchers and academics, was identified as a strategic step towards achieving this goal.

Abstract

Regional Autonomy is carried out by many countries, including Indonesia. Autonomy is intended to provide better public services. The freedom to take initiative on the basis of granting regional autonomy opens up opportunities for regions to develop their potential to increase economic growth. High economic growth should be able to reduce unemployment. High unemployment rates have an impact on slowing the rate of economic growth. This research uses a paired t-test to see the differences between before and after regional autonomy and the analytical method used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to analyze the relationship between variables in the long and short term. The results of data analysis show that there is a one-way causal relationship between economic growth and unemployment which is significant and in the short term, the relationship between the unemployment rate variable and economic growth is only found in lag 3. In the long term the unemployment rate variable has a negative relationship with the unemployment rate. It can be concluded that Okun's law only exists in the long term.

Abstract

This study explores the pivotal role of social capital in managing conflicts during the transition from tourism to mining in Pangkal Niur Village. Using qualitative methods within a descriptive research framework, this study interviewed diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, the village government, tourism sector representatives, and opponents of this shift. Employing purposive sampling and inductive analysis, our findings reveal the significant role of social capital in mitigating conflicts between the tourism and mining sectors, particularly in the context of modernization and globalization. This holds profound implications for Pangkal Niur’s local community. The study underscores that social relationships form the basis for trust, cooperation, and community involvement, which is crucial for post-mining land restoration efforts. In regions with a significant mining sector like Bangka Belitung, these findings are highly relevant, emphasizing social capital as a catalyst for conflict resolution, promoting sustainable practices, safeguarding the environment, and enhancing community well-being in environmental management and sustainable development.

Abstract

This study explores the enhancement of Supply Chain Management (SCM) efficiency in the Philippines' modular construction sector through Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). It highlights the critical alignment of SCM success factors with IPD principles, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in modular construction projects. The application of IPD addresses challenges like high initial costs and skilled labor demands, offering a promising strategy for advancing construction methodologies in emerging markets. Quantitative analysis via surveys among modular construction professionals assesses IPD's impact on SCM efficiency, uncovering a positive correlation between IPD adoption and compliance with SCM success factors, particularly in larger organizations. This reveals the benefits of early collaboration and shared management practices. The research proposes a comprehensive framework tailored to the Philippine construction industry to optimize SCM efficiency by integrating modular construction with IPD principles. This strategy aims to tackle unique organizational and individual challenges, offering insights for improving SCM practices through IPD. The study paves the way for superior project delivery in developing economies and calls for future research into IPD and SCM risks, the influence of organizational structures, and the role of emerging technologies and cultural factors in modular construction. Keywords: Critical Success Factors, Implementation Framework, Integrated Project Delivery, Modular Construction, Supply Chain Management
