Abstract

Roller mixer is a laboratory tool to assist the process of homogenization in blood hematology examination. Generally, this tool works by rotating the rollers which mix the blood sample and anticoagulant agent. Apart from that, this mixer roller wobbles when it is running, while rotating in the same direction following a predetermined speed setting. In this research a static roller mixer prototype has been made, which can rotate back and forth with a pause setting every 30 seconds. So that the prototype can be used as a supporting tool in the laboratory, several test times are carried out for 1-15 minutes. Analysis of the ability to rotate back and forth the prototype was also carried out at different speed levels, namely 33 RPM, 40 RPM, 50 RPM, and 60 RPM. The results of the tests that have been carried out show that the prototype has a stable rotational speed of 31.5 seconds. The measurement has a time difference of 5% against the setting time. Based on the data it can be concluded that the increase in the roller speed level does not affect the change in the time test value that has been carried out.

Abstract

Character recognition technology has been carried out using various artificial intelligence methods. In this paper, one of the artificial intelligence methods, namely K-nearest Neighbor (K-NN), will be proposed to recognize the kaganga script, which is the Lampung province script. The Lampung kaganga script is one of the Indonesian cultural assets from the native Lampung tribe. Currently, only a few people understand this Lampung kaganga script. Therefore, an effort is needed to preserve this character, one of which is through this research so that a computer application can be produced that helps in learning the Lampung kaganga script. In this paper, the recognition of the Kaganga Lampung script using the K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) will measure performance in terms of the recognition processing time and the recognition accuracy of this Lampung kaganga script. From the tests that have been carried out, the results obtained by using the K-NN method are able to recognize the kaganga Lampung character with an accuracy of 70% and the average time of the character recognition process is 1.1412 seconds.

Abstract

One of the devices that plays an important role in the performance of Wireless LAN (WLAN) is the antenna. Microstrip antennas are generally used in high-frequency technology designs. Therefore it is suitable for increasing WLAN performance that works at the 2.4 GHz frequency. In this study, adding slots to the antenna to improve WLAN performance. The array antenna 2x1 is designed to work at the WLAN frequency of 2.4 GHz. The gain produced by this antenna is 3.8 dB which is very influential in strengthening the WLAN antenna signal.

Abstract

Student Identity Card has an important role as an individual identification tool in the higher education environment. KTM is often the main tool in identity verification process to access campus facilities, such as library services. However, currently the access system to the library still relies on the manual method which involves staff entering data manually into a computer which is prone to typing errors. This study aims to design an identity recognition system on KTM by combining OCR method and involving the Inception-EfficientNet architecture on the Faster R-CNN model in classifying text and photo found on KTM. The Inception-EfficientNet architecture is designed with 5 convolution and 2 maxpooling layers, and involves RPN (Region Proposal Network) and ROI Pooling which researchers have designed as important elements in establishing the Faster R-CNN method. The data collected includes three classes, namely hafizh, richo, and vandy. The test results of the OCR method in recognizing identities based on characters show a high level of accuracy, which is equal to 98.35%. On the other hand, the Faster R-CNN method is able to classify photos with very good performance which achieves a success accuracy of 91.83%. Based on testing the entire system that combines the OCR method and the Faster R-CNN method, carried out on 10 different data samples, and managed to achieve a success rate of 90%. These findings emphasize the fact that a collaborative approach between the OCR method and Faster R-CNN model has the potential to increase accessibility and reliability KTM identity recognition.

Abstract

Transmission data (status, measurement, control) between Substation Automation Systems (SAS) is different from Conventional Substation. Conventional Substation uses cables (hardwired) to transmit data, while SOGI transmits data using data communication via an Ethernet network, using IEC 61850 protocol. IEC 61850 protocol is currently widely used for communication within substations. Currently SAS has been widely implemented in PLN, where IEC 61850 protocol is the mandatory protocol used in SAS. SAS consists of various kinds of equipment such as: server, gateway, Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED). In SAS maintenance, it is necessary to monitor and troubleshoot IEC 61850 communications to ensure data is sent between the equipment. One of the IEC 61850 communications that is often used is client server communication (report). To monitor IEC 61850 communications, an IEC 61850 protocol analyzer is needed such as IED scout from Omicron, IEC 61850 Test Suite Pro from Trianglemicroworks, IEC 61850 Protocol Test Tool from Ase systems or other IEC 61850 protocol analyzers. All protocol analyzers are paid, while not all PLN units have protocol analyzer software. One alternative software that can be used is Wireshark, this free software can be used to monitor all Ethernet-based communications, including IEC 61850 protocol. In the tests carried out in this research, it can be concluded that wireshark can be used to monitor IEC 61850 communications using “mms” filters and laptop for monitoring is connected on the switch's ethernet port which has been mirrored to the SAS equipment port which communicates via IEC 61850 client server communication.

Abstract

The measurement of sea level is essential to oceanography because it provides vital information about the ocean environment, such as tides, currents, and water temperature. This research aimed to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based sea level monitoring device that can precisely measure sea level and transmit data in real time. An ESP32 microcontroller, a GSM module, an MS5803-14BA sensor, and a battery constituted the device. To protect the electronics from the ocean environment, the components were assembled on a PCB board and placed within a waterproof box. The field test was conducted for 17 hours at the Class 1 Navigation Office Port in Tanjungpinang, and the Ubidots platform was used to monitor the data. The device accurately measured sea level with an RMSE of 0.69 cm and an accuracy rate of 99.47%, according to the results. However, the field test also revealed problems with data transmission, with 18.81% of the data not being transmitted to the server. This low data transmission rate may have been caused by low RSSI levels and signal quality issues with the operator. To understand the causes of these data losses and improve the device's overall performance, additional research is required. This study demonstrated the viability of utilizing an Internet of Things-based sea level monitoring device to precisely measure sea level and transmit data in real time. It provides valuable information for the improvement and further development of sea level monitoring systems.

Abstract

The availability of electrical energy ensures operational sustainability in everyday life, including the educational environment. The possibility of easier renewable energy installation encourages the goal of growing the installation to be affordable. Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani is one of the campuses that has the capacity to use renewable energy and has a role in environmental awareness in accordance with the university's future vision. In light of this, a hybrid photovoltaic (PV), diesel, and battery plant design is presented as an alternative power plant to supplement conventional energy sources. However, it is critical to examine the long-term capital and profit estimations that must be considered. The hybrid plant is proposed in two configurations, grid-connected and off-grid. In this paper, modeling and simulation are performed using Net Present Cost (NPC) prices from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) rooftop PV installation planning guidelines and inflation estimations from the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Finance. Furthermore, until the contribution of energy generated in the simulation is displayed, the production and consumption of electrical energy required for the selected building instances are generated. Hybrid plant modeling has been completed at Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology (FHST) and Rectorate buildings. According to the simulation results, the NPC cost for the next 25 years is anticipated to be Rp 1,047,534,000, with a total electrical energy production of 729,807 kWh/year and a renewable energy contribution >91.4%. Furthermore, from a technological and economic standpoint, a grid-connected hybrid generation system is advocated

Abstract

The Lampung Museum has the responsibility of serving as a site for the protection and preservation of culturally significant artifacts within the Lampung region ensuring their transfer to future generations Within the museum, there exists a storage room designated for the housing of historical collections Unfortunately, this storage area is frequently neglected, resulting in issues such as damage caused by rodent pests (rats) and the accumulation of dust on the artifacts. In the interest of preventive conservation, this research aims to track the positions of rodents and dust within the storage room and develop an application capable of monitoring the presence of rats and dust.

Abstract

Beef mustard greens are an annual plant that can only be harvested once. Beef mustard greens require air with humidity above 60% RH and soil humidity between 512-307 ADC in order to grow optimally. In the gardens where this system is implemented, the method of watering the mustard greens is still done manually by garden workers. The design of this system was created to monitor and carry out automatic watering of mustard greens plants both directly and remotely. The test results of the tool system update the data taken by the soil moisture and DHT11 sensors in real time. Apart from that, the system automatically waters the mustard greens plants if the air humidity value is below 60% RH and the soil humidity is above the value of 512 ADC. In the end, this system was created with the hope of making the work of workers in implementation plantations easier by increasing the number of smart-argiculture systems.

Abstract

The characteristics of the electric power distribution system which is far from the generator and is generally radial in shape causes voltage drops. Voltage drops that are below tolerance cause a decrease in power quality on the consumer side of the distribution network. The methods used to improve voltage drops are network reconfiguration, distributed generator placement, and capacitor placement. In this study, placement capacitors were used to improve voltage profil in the Medan city medium voltage distribution network. Placement of capacitors and determination of capacitor capacity using Electrical transient analyzer program (ETAP). The initial condition of the medium voltage distribution network before the capacitor placement was carried out was an active power loss of 256.1 kW and a minimum voltage of 0,90 p.u. After placing the capacitors using the electrical transient analyzer program, it was obtained that the capacitors were placed on bus 18 and bus 34 with their respective capacitor capacities. 600 kVAR, after running the power flow, the power loss is 194.9 kW or reduced by 23.90% and the minimum voltage is 0,94 p.u or increased by 4.2%.
