A broken home is a condition where a family is not intact, caused by several factors, including divorce and death between couples who are no longer harmonious, where the children are the victims. This research uses field research, namely a type of qualitative research in which the researcher observes and plays a role directly. The two participants in the research included students from broken homes and guidance and counseling teachers who provided services to children from broken homes. Data collection methods used include observation, interviews and documentation methods. Based on the research results, the role of the guidance/counseling teacher as a guide in providing Islamic counseling guidance to students from broken home families is to provide guidance in the form of preventive/prevention, curative/distribution, preservative/repair, and development/development of the function of Islamic counseling guidance. In writing academically, EFL students experience different levels of anxiety for each EFL student. This study aims to measure the general level of writing anxiety experienced by EFL students. In addition, it will specifically measure whether there is an influence on the level of writing anxiety of EFL students with several factors, such as gender, length of study, and region. There are other things to look for, which are related to the type of writing anxiety experienced by EFL students, as well as what factors have a major contribution to this writing anxiety. This study used a quantitative approach by conducting a survey of 58 EFL students divided into 3 academic years, where they took basic writing, intermediate writing and advanced writing courses. The results show that the level of student anxiety is average, with cognitive anxiety (M=18.93) being the highest among somatic anxiety (M=18.30) and avoidance behavior anxiety (M=17.96). Then, the factor that most influenced EFL students' writing anxiety was the problem of linguistic factors (9.3%), which was then followed by writing process under constraint (8.5%). However, EFL students did not feel anxious tothe writing test and writing assessment which percentage of each issue was 7.3%.

Abstract

In education, teacher competence greatly determines the quality of the learning process and outcomes, while principal leadership and professional development are considered important factors that influence these competencies. However, there is a gap in understanding how teacher self-experience can act as a bridge in the influence of both factors on teacher competence, especially in Islamic educational environments such as Madrasah Tsanawiyah. This study examines and analyzes the influence of principal leadership and professional development on teacher competence through self-experience mediation. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a PLS-SEM analysis model. The research sample involved 58 teachers from MTsN 9 Magetan and MTsN 6 Madiun, selected through proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis techniques and direct and indirect effects hypothesis testing. The results showed that professional development positively and significantly influenced self-experience, while self-experience significantly influenced teacher competence. However, the influence of principal leadership on self-experience and teacher competence was not substantial. Self-experience was also shown to mediate the positive influence of principal leadership and professional development on teacher competence, although not significantly on the influence of leadership. This conclusion emphasizes the importance of self-experience as a mediator that can strengthen the influence of professional development on teacher competence. Recommendations from this study suggest improving teacher professional development programs and leadership training that emphasize personal experience and reflection.

Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines the ontological, epistemological and axiological views in essentialism and their implications in an inclusive and flexible curriculum. The results show that education should include the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development of learners. In this context, essentialist education focuses on character building, activeness in learning, and strengthening learners' morality to prepare them for the challenges of life in this world and the hereafter.

Abstract

This study aims to explore international students' perceptions on the service quality delivery at Universitas Hasanuddin. The method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques. Data was collected through interviews with the international students under the KNB scholarships, who were studying Indonesian language through BIPA program at Unhas. Interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview guide which allowed researchers to explore participants' experiences and views in more depth. The findings of the study show that international students have varying perceptions of the quality of service they receive, with the majority assessing aspects of academic services, administration and campus facilities as quite adequate. However, there are several challenges related to communication, cultural understanding, and support in social and academic adaptation. This research recommends improving coordination between various parties at universities to improve services and better meet the needs of international students. It is hoped that these findings can become a reference for university administrators in designing policies that are more responsive to the needs of international students.

Abstract

This study aims to understand in depth the dynamics of management conflicts between teachers and students in school through a qualitative approach using interview techniques. This study involved teachers, students, parents and principal from Esperanto private High School in Madagascar who were selected purposively to represent a variety of perspectives. Interviews were conducted with the aim of identifying the factors that caused the conflicts and how each party proposed some solutions to manage the conflicts. The findings show that conflicts between teachers and students can appear in various forms, ranging from disagreements in teaching methods, differences in expectations between teachers and students, to student behavior problems that affect the learning process. Ineffective conflict management in school causes negative impacts, both on the learning environment and on students' emotional development. Some of the strategies found in this study include open communication, a more flexible approach from teachers, and providing space for students to actively participate in learning. With a deeper understanding of the causes and impacts of conflicts, school has to design more effective policies to address this problem, as well as improving the quality of learning to more inclusive and supporting student development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) as an effort to improve the quality of education at the Kediri State Islamic Institute (IAIN). It is a qualitative research study conducted using the case study method. The research took place at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kediri, with the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) IAIN Kediri serving as the subject. The data collection techniques employed were direct observation, document and archive searches, and interviews. The results revealed the following: The policies and concepts of IQAS, in the form of academic and quality documents, were compiled by LPM IAIN Kediri. LPM IAIN Kediri coordinated the planning and implementation of SPMI across all units and faculties. The implementation of SPMI involved preparing a design in the form of an SPMI Cycle. The study identified several constraints, including limited leadership time, suboptimal human resources within LPM, and data synchronization that did not align with the Central Template. To address these constraints, steps were taken, such as training auditors and fostering a spirit of quality assurance. An evaluation of SPMI implementation was conducted annually. The utilization of SPMI implementation results included internal benefits such as fostering a culture of quality and achieving strategic plan fulfillment, as well as external benefits in terms of BAN-PT/LAM accreditation.
