Abstract

The study is grounded in the pivotal role of Al-Qur’an Hadis instruction in shaping students’ akhlak karimah. The research objective is to determine the contribution of Al-Qur’an Hadis learning to the formation of akhlak karimah among Grade X students at MA Rohani Ikhwanul Muslimin. Employing a Classroom Action Research design, the study involved the Al-Qur’an Hadis subject teacher as a collaborator and proceeded through iterative cycles of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The findings indicate that Al-Qur’an Hadis learning makes a tangible contribution to instilling virtuous values—such as honesty, discipline, politeness, and respect for teachers. The study concludes that a contextual approach, role modeling, and habituation within Al-Qur’an Hadis instruction effectively cultivate students’ noble character. The contribution lies in evidencing a practical, cyclical model of faith-based pedagogy that systematically strengthens character formation in the Islamic secondary school context.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of vocabulary acquisition in early childhood as a foundation for language development, as well as the need for engaging and effective learning approaches. The research aims to examine the vocabulary development of children aged 4–5 years through audio-visual media-based learning and to measure its effect on their vocabulary mastery at TK H. Dermawan Harahap, Gonting Julu, Padang Lawas Regency. The method used is an experimental design with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design within a quantitative approach. The subjects were 4–5-year-old children who had not previously received instruction using audio-visual media. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments designed to measure vocabulary ability before and after the intervention. The results show that the average pre-test score of 66.5% increased to 82% in the post-test, indicating a significant improvement. The Paired Samples Test yielded a significance value of p = 0.000, demonstrating that the use of audio-visual media has a significant effect on enhancing children's vocabulary skills. The study concludes that learning through audio-visual media is effective in enriching early childhood vocabulary, as the media combine visual and auditory elements that capture attention and facilitate children's understanding of new vocabulary.

Abstract

This study originates from the need for a real-time student concentration monitoring system in response to challenges in maintaining learner engagement during the instructional process. The aim of the research is to develop Smart Focus Detection, an early warning system based on deep learning and computer vision designed to automatically detect students’ focus levels. The system was developed using a modern client–server architecture integrating the YOLOv8 behavior detection model, a FastAPI-based backend service, and a Vue.js-based user interface dashboard. Development followed the Agile methodology through the stages of planning, design, implementation, and testing. The YOLOv8 model was trained using public datasets from Kaggle and Roboflow, with data preprocessing and augmentation techniques applied, and evaluated using metrics including Precision, Recall, F1 Score, and Mean Average Precision (mAP). Results show that the model achieved an mAP@0.5 score of 85%, indicating high accuracy in detecting both focused and unfocused student behaviors. Limited trials in classroom settings demonstrated that the system’s interactive dashboard effectively displays data through live monitoring features, statistical visualizations, and automated notifications. The study concludes that Smart Focus Detection holds strong potential as a proactive pedagogical assistant, enabling teachers to conduct timely interventions to enhance student engagement and learning effectiveness. The findings imply promising opportunities for leveraging artificial intelligence in the development of data-driven adaptive learning systems.

Abstract

Metaphor is a figure of speech that implicitly compares two things, whether physical objects, ideas, characteristics, or actions without using direct comparative words. According to Nurgiyantoro, a metaphor is an implied form of analogy, while the Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia defines it as the use of a word or group of words in a non-literal sense, serving as a comparative expression based on meaning similarity. This study aims to describe the types and meanings of metaphors in the anime Fune O Amu by Shion Miura. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Stephen Ullmann’s theory of metaphor as the analytical framework. The findings reveal 20 instances of metaphorical expressions in the anime, consisting of 1 anthropomorphic metaphor, 2 animal metaphors, 10 abstraction metaphors, and 7 synesthetic metaphors. These findings indicate that metaphorical language in Fune O Amu is used in varied ways to enhance expressive meaning and emotion, as well as to deepen the aesthetic experience in this visual literary work. The study concludes that anime, as a form of modern literature, utilizes metaphor not merely as a rhetorical device but as a powerful tool for generating deep and imaginative meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) design an interactive media-based learning tool using FlipBook for the subject of Industrial Electronics Engineering, specifically on the topic Elements of Industrial Control Systems, and (2) evaluate the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. The research was conducted with Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, utilizing the 4-D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data were collected in both qualitative and quantitative forms through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results show that the FlipBook-based interactive learning media covers four core content elements related to Elements of Industrial Control Systems. Expert evaluations indicate that the media has a very high level of validity, with an average score of 90%. Although the media was deemed feasible and effective, some limitations were identified in its implementation by instructors, particularly regarding technical readiness and integration into the learning process. The study concludes that FlipBook media holds great potential as an interactive learning tool in vocational education. However, further development is needed, especially in conducting needs analysis and designing adaptive content tailored to real classroom conditions.

Abstract

Spiritual education (tazkiyatun nafs) is a fundamental aspect in shaping individual character and morality, particularly in addressing the social and spiritual challenges of modern society. This study aims to explore the correlation between the concept of spiritual education according to Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and the current conditions of contemporary society, which is experiencing moral degradation, identity crises, and spiritual alienation. The research employs a qualitative library-based method with a content analysis approach focusing on Ibn Qayyim’s works. The findings indicate that Ibn Qayyim’s concept of tazkiyatun nafs is grounded in the strengthening of faith, spiritual awareness, control of base desires, and habituation of righteous deeds. This concept emphasizes the importance of balancing cognitive, emotional, and spiritual aspects in forming a holistic personality. The relevance of Ibn Qayyim’s thought is evident in today’s society, which often neglects the spiritual dimension of education, leading to a sense of emptiness and life disorientation. The study concludes that Islamic spiritual education, from Ibn Qayyim’s perspective, holds great potential as a solution to the current moral and spiritual crisis. Its implication is that tazkiyatun nafs values should be systematically integrated into the education system and social life to cultivate a society that is intellectually and spiritually balanced.

Abstract

The Site Engineering Unit of PT. Semen Padang plays a critical role in planning, designing, and supervising construction projects as well as maintaining plant infrastructure, encompassing four engineering disciplines. However, the current manual monitoring system—based on Microsoft Excel—has led to several issues, including fragmented data due to weekly reports, a high potential for human error in data recording and processing, and difficulties in updating work progress in real time. This study aims to develop a web-based work progress monitoring system to address these challenges. The system was designed using the Laravel framework for backend development and Vue.js for the frontend, with BlackBox Testing applied to ensure all functions meet user requirements. The results show that the system is accessible across various devices, supports efficient data updates, and enhances coordination among technical disciplines within the project. The study concludes that the developed web-based monitoring system is effective in improving the operational efficiency of the Site Engineering Unit and supports the company's standards in safety, quality, and efficiency for construction and infrastructure maintenance projects.

Abstract

The low level of understanding among Grade X students regarding Informatics concepts—evidenced by the failure to meet the Target Criteria for Learning Objectives Achievement (KKTP)—serves as the background for this study. The teacher-centered learning approach has resulted in low student engagement, which negatively impacts learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the interactive media Canva on students' learning outcomes in Informatics. A quantitative approach was used with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Padang Panjang, involving 72 Grade X students. One class received treatment using PBL supported by Canva, while the control class applied PBL without media. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test used to measure learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using a t-test to assess differences in learning improvement between the two groups. The results showed that the group using PBL with Canva improved their average score from 53.50 to 86.14, while the group without media increased from 58.22 to 77.97. The study concludes that integrating the PBL model with interactive Canva media significantly enhances students’ conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in Informatics. The findings imply the importance of incorporating digital media to support active learning models and improve instructional effectiveness at the secondary school level.

Abstract

This study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Blagung, Boyolali using a qualitative approach, involving the principal, teachers, and curriculum administration staff as research subjects. The aim of the study is to analyze the curriculum management and administration processes in supporting effective learning at the madrasah. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that curriculum management is carried out through four main stages: planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. The planning stage involves designing learning programs based on students’ needs; the implementation stage focuses on the application of the curriculum in teaching and learning processes; the supervision stage ensures alignment between curriculum design and classroom practices; while the evaluation stage assesses the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and informs continuous improvement. Curriculum administration plays a strategic role in optimizing resource utilization, offering flexible learning options for students, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of learning processes through systematic oversight. The study concludes that structured curriculum management, supported by sound administrative practices, is essential for achieving optimal educational outcomes in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mobile-based information system for monitoring Praktek Kerja Lapangan (PKL) using Flutter Android, integrated with a REST API, at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The research is motivated by the need to digitize the PKL monitoring process, which has traditionally been conducted manually, resulting in inefficiencies and lack of structure. The development method employed is the Waterfall model of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), encompassing the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The developed system features key functionalities such as online PKL information delivery, camera-based attendance validation (front and rear cameras), daily digital journal management, evaluation, and real-time data reporting. Testing results using the White Box method indicate that all logical paths function correctly, with Cyclomatic Complexity values within acceptable limits. The study concludes that the developed PKL monitoring information system meets both functional and technical requirements, and effectively supports the PKL monitoring process in an efficient, transparent, and structured manner. The findings underscore the importance of digitizing PKL supervision systems in vocational schools to enhance the effectiveness of work-based learning.
